Why does there have to be a "dominant or submissive" in every relationship though? Unless roleplay stuff of course, can't people just chill out in their relationships and not fight to be the one always on top, again unless roleplay. It's why I prefer to surround myself and date introverts.
the discussion in this video is even more interesting to watch now that Greg Hetson from Bad Religion said last year that his wife was physically abusive. Strange how things culminate like this. Maybe that obnoxious actress woman is somewhere shutting the hell up
yea because a few men being abused compared to how many women? the numbers support that women are abused more. they live in a culture that enables rape (rape culture) and they also are demonized if they stand up for themselves. called a slut if they fuck someone and a bitch prude if they dont. lose lose. no offense man, youre a moron.
Just about every guy I know has been hit by a gf or wife. These men and myself included never reported it so any statistic you claim is out there is botched. Most men I know believe it is wrong to hit females. I don't know any woman who thinks it is wrong to hit men. In fact women applaud hitting men. Much like they applauded when "women are smarter" comments are being made. Misandry at its finest.
Sean Ryan FUCKING THANK YOU!!! I was beginning to wonder if I stumbled into some alternate universe where Bad Religion and Bill O'Reilly have the same fan base. This comment section is making me fucking sick. I wonder if these are all Bad Religion fans who would have agreed with anything Greg said.
"I've never seen a guy go to the hospital because he had his feelings hurt." Well, Marina, ever heard of phychiatric hospitals? They're well-stocked with men who are repeat-offender criminals that landed there from mandatory court-appointment after having their feelings hurt far too many times and responding badly. Jeez, take off the blinders, lady.
Why, because she was the only one not supporting the idea that males are victimized by a culture that has become too feminine? I'm actually really disappointed since I respect other views he has, and here, he apparently equates men physically abusing women with women emotionally abusing men (as if physical abuse isn't also emotionally damaging?). But I'm really giving him too much credit since he doesn't even try to specify what he's talking about. The whole premise the rest of them are stroking their egos about is the conformist notion that gender roles are justified, and that feminism has gone so far that what culture has called masculinity has become oppressed by what it calls femininity. Much of what has been decidedly categorized as masculine (untoward aggression, violence, dominance, hostility) looks to me to be much less desirable than what has been labeled as feminine (sensitivity, empathy, nurturing, compassion) if we're going to abide by prevailing distinctions.
MetalNick - Maintain a point....don't judge men by the worst of them. .don't judge women by the worst either...if you're a liberal you could distinguish the point that in the past women were respressed and men were not.....but equality doesn't lie in feminism...it lies whithin itself. ..i hope i do not have to explain the concept of equality or ever have to defend myself for what i am....id rather defend myself for what I've done
You know, I agree that toxic masculinity is a big issue, and that its important for young boys to feel okay with showing emotions, but I don't think it should ever be phrased as "be more like this girl" or anything similar. just tell them its OKAY. That's it!
Who the hell is this Marina Sirtis person?! I'm so unbelievably offended by everything that she said. And the fact that the crowd didn't boo her out of the studio is evidence for Christina Hoff Sommers' argument.
I think Greg and Christina and Bill are the only ones capable of holding a calm, sound, and intellectual conversation. They should have been the only one's there on the panel.
Minute 5:18 to 5:28... Greg said it but uber "fuck men gal" glossed right over the fact that men are abused too. I remember seeing this episode in the 90's... watched it because I was THE biggest Bad Religion fan on earth (probably still am) and left it feeling like... ugh! You dumb people... you had a non sexist genius sitting next to you.... and you wouldn't shut up and listen to him! He was surrounded by no one willing to engage his smarts. This show missed a huge chance to hear a voice of reason we all need! Ugh ladies... yes our time is now... yes we have been oppressed but don't shoot down the men that get it! The are trying to be our allies and it's not about woman dominating over men... that's as dumb as male sexism... it's about the sexes finding peace so we can work together in a healthy way... let a smart man talk! And the woman pointing out the ways society s unfair to me is totally valid!! Listen and absorb the point of view ladies.... really at our nature... that is out strength whe we 're not caught up in male energy power plays! Oi!
@DragonCityOfficial Also, stress in general- that leads to all kinds of health problems, from cancer to heart attacks. And many women in these relationships feel more in love after being beaten (not that I'm suggesting it)... which is one of the reasons they don't leave (financial and kids are the top 2 reasons though).
Poor Greg. He's typically the smartest guy in the room, and this wasn't much of an exception. They should've just let Greg and Christina talk and hog-tie Julie Brown and the chick from Star Trek. Greg's not a loud, obnoxious person, and that's a detriment on this kind of show.
My word. What a bizarre conversation. I feel for Greg, but at the same time I think he's reasonably amused by the level of idiocy he's facing. Remaining taciturn until there is a relevant point to be made; if all people took this stance, the world would be a better place.
The Star Trek woman is hilarious and so incredibly redundant. All the wrongdoings of man are grossly exaggerated and exemplify those that were notorious for actually doing them.
Can one of you ignorant tools even try to make a point? Which 'wrongdoings of man' were 'grossly exaggerated'? I know you won't likely answer because you're claim is false, but to be fair, it's really not even applicable.
I don't really agree with Maher. I think Bill Burr mocked the problem beautifully in one of his specials, that guys in their 'guy groups' become ridiculous with dick envying, and if you do something thoughtful or slightly emotional, they rush with their "What a fag!!!". I am a guy who happens to be an artist and I express a lot of my thoughts, ideas and emotions in my prose, paintings and music. So I myself and people who know me, know that it's not that black and white, because although I am not scared of my emotional sensitive side, I am quite an alpha male in confrontations :) I mean, I do my best to keep cool, but when I am pushed, the caveman DNA takes over my brain and I bit the shit out of people. I think when it comes to men, one thing is true: in a club, the loud-mouthed guy is a bitch, you know what I mean? The fucking built to destroy, maniac looking, calm guys always have some 'feminine' stuff they enjoy, and nobody says shit to them, because they are afraid. And the ones with low self esteem need to demonstrate their masculinity 24/7.
All these women are kind of annoying. We now know that men and women's brains are different which is why women tent to do better at verbal tasks while men often do better at visual spatial reasoning and mathematics. But that being said, there is always some variation or exceptions, so the women's point that she enjoys sports and her husband is more feminine is asinine.
Yikes does Marina ever shut up. Enough already lol. Give the other people a chance to speak. I was waiting for the cane to come over and pull her off the set. Man, is she annoying and overbearing.
the minute greg opens his mouth the crowd cheers, I love that man
Greg just has this "-_- you srs?" look on his face the whole time.
This debate is SO DAMN up to date right now!!!! Greg nails it everytime.
Why does there have to be a "dominant or submissive" in every relationship though? Unless roleplay stuff of course, can't people just chill out in their relationships and not fight to be the one always on top, again unless roleplay.
It's why I prefer to surround myself and date introverts.
the first thee minutes I was like "say something, Greg!"
It doesn't matter now because everybody just wants to shoot everyone .🤯🤬
Lol Greg was waiting and learning to make the ultimate strike. Haha
Greg looks so uncomfortable.
These women talk a lot, and say little.
I love Greg Graffin and Bad Religion. But I also get the feeling of "what the fuck I am I doing here."
2:39
BIll: 'He's 6 and he's grabbing department store breasts?'
Audience member: 'YEAAAAH!'
for 2 minutes Greg isn't talking at all thinking of all his epic songs.
This song is called I'm not a pussy yeah. 🎸

Women don't shut up
"I've never seen a guy go to the hospital because he had his feelings hurt."

5:22 fucking thank you Greg. Marina was getting so annoying.

This was probably just after Greg's divorce :(.
SOMMERS: "I have facts and statistics..."
SIRTIS: "I am a feminist and you have to believe me, while I contradict myself over and over!"
I love how every time marina cuts off the author, she just sits and smiles
Shit greg graffin said something and I missed it.
7:00
Greg graffin: "Wait, but that's my line!"
You know, I agree that toxic masculinity is a big issue, and that its important for young boys to feel okay with showing emotions, but I don't think it should ever be phrased as "be more like this girl" or anything similar. just tell them its OKAY. That's it!
I will never be able to watch Star Trek TNG the same way again. I can't believe Marina Sirtis is saying those things.
I love how when greg final starts talking, he starts kicking ass
Anyone any idea what Graffin says at 1:34?
I dont know how Greg put up with this nonsense. I would have blown my brains out in part 1.
This is super cool! thanks man.
the one sitting next to graffin was spoiling all of that conversation
Everytime i've seen him on appear on tv you can tell that's what he is thinking.
I have never seen such consistent and well thought out anger expressed in youtube comments, nice to see so people on the same level
Title should be "Greg Graffin listens to a bunch of dimwits talk"
As a 6' 4", 200 lb male who was abused by a girlfriend, I can say that it is in fact just as painful.
Greg wants to stick a fork in his eye...hilarious...
6:25 BOOM!!!
Who the hell is this Marina Sirtis person?! I'm so unbelievably offended by everything that she said. And the fact that the crowd didn't boo her out of the studio is evidence for Christina Hoff Sommers' argument.
"i don't have to take your shit anymore"-Greg Graffin. Geez what a bunch of hens pecking away
I think Greg and Christina and Bill are the only ones capable of holding a calm, sound, and intellectual conversation. They should have been the only one's there on the panel.

Greg? Can Greg speak now?
Still waiting...
@docpepperclassic She was Counselor Troi from Star Trek : The Next Generation.
A wise guy once said the fool speaks and the wise is silent.

TARGET
D E S T R O Y E D .
Guys aren't okay; girls aren't okay, too. There, we're all happy.
The few words Greg said to Marina were pure ownage... i fucking love this guy :P
Hahahaha poor Greg
WOW Bill Maher really doesn't care how offensive he is. He says shit we wouldn't dare talking in private, but in national tv. LOOOL
that's how I feel every day
How is being emotionally expressive and non-competitive even a bad thing?
+Black Flag Proletarian he never said it is...you are blatantly politicized and ideological..thus not rational...
Johnny "You have an opinion and therefore you are wrong"
***** speak english, argument, contextualize or no one is going to understand you.
Johnny lol when have I not been speaking english?
Your previous message makes no sense if not contextualized.
It's unfortunate that Greg wasn't with a more interesting and intelligent group.
"Macho home?" What the hell does that mean?
Hint, read a book, look at some studies. Is everyone ignorant of Psychology now?
Oh my god! Why isn't this video marked with "Stupid People Alert!" ? Poor Greg...
7:01 she stole gregs thunder
bacon309 😂😂
ten minutes in the discussion still has to start...
2/3 through this and it has become evident there’s room full of reasonable people and one lunatic. I feel Sorry for her, what a setup.
I never wanted to hit a woman until Marina started talking. She's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Fascinating.
I'm only here for Graffin
Finally! I applaud him for listening to her crap for so long.
Can they let Greg talk? He's too respectful to interrupt like the other idiots but I bet he has something interesting to say.
likewise...
FF to for 5:20 for Dr. Graffin
Oh my fucking God let Greg talk
greg got almost as much speaking time as ron paul does at debates
Poor Greg. He's typically the smartest guy in the room, and this wasn't much of an exception. They should've just let Greg and Christina talk and hog-tie Julie Brown and the chick from Star Trek. Greg's not a loud, obnoxious person, and that's a detriment on this kind of show.
I'm not violent.
This title is kinda misleading. He's there, but he never gets the chance to speak
GG regretted this big time, I bet.
Is Greg even going to fucking TALK?!
Americans have a weird relationship with limiting who you can be and how you can act according to your sex. It's quite bizarre.
i no longer can watch leverage because i think of this
The only two people who are still relevant are the men on the stage lol
Marina.....just be quiet.
I can't believe I just watched that!
I was waiting to hear Greg saying something but instead I heard only stupid chicken gibberish.
That chick is a great actress, because she sure is nothing like her Star Trek charachter.
Marina Sirtis - Go and write your own book. In the meantime, give somebody else to speak.
My word. What a bizarre conversation. I feel for Greg, but at the same time I think he's reasonably amused by the level of idiocy he's facing. Remaining taciturn until there is a relevant point to be made; if all people took this stance, the world would be a better place.
@3Gannmann according to what she's been saying, i think she needs to slap her husband alittle less.
Feel bad for greg ...
I hope Pacard beats Marina
i like startrek a little bit less now.
@rooley uhm if women weren't victims they wouldn't be a need for feminism..duh....you are so smart
fast commercial.
The Star Trek woman is hilarious and so incredibly redundant. All the wrongdoings of man are grossly exaggerated and exemplify those that were notorious for actually doing them.

That Marina woman... hope she finds a brain someday..
I hope you're not calling Bill Maher and Idiot :(
4:06 Greg manspreading.
Fuck I thought Diana Troy was annoying as a character... but that was really nothing compared to the actress who played her.
Baaahhjh
CHS is the only woman in the room who contributed anything to the conversation. It should've just been her and Greg.
Why Greg is even there? Such a shame that a smart guy is surrounded by idiots, but then again thats the way of the world.
In fairness, Christina H.S. is smart too... but the same thing applies - the dumb ones smothered the smart ones.
I don't really agree with Maher. I think Bill Burr mocked the problem beautifully in one of his specials, that guys in their 'guy groups' become ridiculous with dick envying, and if you do something thoughtful or slightly emotional, they rush with their "What a fag!!!".

@pbrskater26 HURR DURR
Marina..ugh..
Deanna is luck y she's so hot.
goddamn his new shows are so much better, this shit with star trek lady is unbearable. and i even agree with her on most of the questions
What a waste to put greg gaffin with three women, he can't even get a word in.
"We are equals...BUT...." Shut up
All these women are kind of annoying. We now know that men and women's brains are different which is why women tent to do better at verbal tasks while men often do better at visual spatial reasoning and mathematics. But that being said, there is always some variation or exceptions, so the women's point that she enjoys sports and her husband is more feminine is asinine.

Greg Graffin is far too intelligent for most of these people.
why is he on this show?
this is terrible, kind of funny, but still kind of hard to watch.
this segment is a joke
Marina talks way too much
