- After Poulenc's death, Koskinen didn't know what to do with his life, and the loss of such an admired person caused him a significant breakdown. So, he dedicated himself to wandering the streets, endlessly walking with his two right feet... and that's how he reached the wildest parts of Austria. One night, he found an abandoned motel. A building that had possibly been abandoned 20 or 30 years before. It was in ruins, but due to the bad weather, he decided to go in and take shelter. In the depths of the main room, which must have been the reception, he saw an old piano. After an entire afternoon listening to the sound of a grotesque bird, he decided to improvise some fragments to drown his sorrows and have a conversation with this bird.
He stayed at that place for almost a week, but some bad hallucinations visited the master so he left the place.
After leaving this place, the master felt better and he started to collect and review all the music since the first polyphonies to the latest hits of The Beatles.
Hope you all enjoy...and always in SILENCE PLEASE!!

Beautiful. Master Koskinen's life is a continuous source of inspiration
Thinking about his greatness makes us shiver in admiration.
I shat a tear 😢
this reminds me very much of Scriabin's poems!
Koskinen was very inspired by Scriabin after all.
hi. i saw this video on my front page of youtube. and as a finnish person my self i took a keen eye on alvar koskinen. and i read the bilogoy. so i wann ask did the winter and continuation war in finland effect him in anyway?
also im so damn confused. like is koskinen even a real person or was he a real person?

Was Shakespeare a real person? Was Lao Tse real? Was Socrate real? Like many geniuses, Koskinen's works are so incredible and unique that we doubt sometimes even about his own existence
Good question. We imagine you are referring to the civil war, luckily his father could find a job as a woodcutter due to the rising demand of material for reconstruction. The war didn't affect him much because he lived in a small village near Lappeenranta.
