Too bad you couldn't find the restaurant you were looking for, but the lemon juice and mint tea looked good. Seems like an interesting city - thanks for sharing your experiences and tips.

Tunis huh? I've always been curious about it. Particularly the history behind that whole region. Going back to ancient Carthage and it's history with Rome. The ancient structures that still exist are amazing. I love that room. Beats out the one I'm staying in Athens right now 😂. Just walking the streets can be an experience. Oh I agree, from what I'm seeing it's a lot nicer and much more stable than walking around Cairo. The food looks delicious. Well to be fair the people of that region are used to that kind of dry heat. I've lived in both humid areas of the US and dry such as Las Vegas. Someone not accustomed to the dry heat in Vegas can easily get themselves into health issues if you don't take the proper precautions. I dealt with something similar in Egypt where you had to watch or even pay for filming certain areas or people. How much is 500 million Tunis dollars to US Dollars or GBP? I'm sold, I'll definitely have to visit soon.

really enjoyed this, as to why some of the shops are closed it's probably because it's too hot (we're lazy af). also it's illegal for a taxi driver not to use the meter. great video!

Hahahaha good to know. I'm sure you are not lazy! But even if they didn't use a meter I found Tunisian taxi drivers to be very honest 😍

Am guessing this was on a Sunday? On Sundays most of the shops in the medina and the city center are closed.

babr bhar means the gate of the sea. Before, more than 150 years ago, the sea, via the salt lake, reached the gates of the Medina. Since then, this part of Tunis has been drained and the lake has receded to the bottom of Avenue Bourguiba.
Police is everywhere because itr's a police's regime. They're affraid of cameras.
banks and currency exchange shops are thieves. You should always check the exchange rate carefully before accepting.
Place de l'indépendance means "independance square"..
