If she wanted leniency she should have pled guilty and asked the court for mercy. What she really wants is to not be held accountable for her actions.

As for defense attorneys, they’ll do/say anything, won’t they? Good people don’t shoot unarmed people after being told by a law enforcement representatives to cease following. Nevertheless, his argument was terrible.

Heard a lot of criticism aimed at her lawyer, but honestly, the woman was guilty as sin. A blind man in a dark room could see that. So yes, he is awful, but what did he have to work with?
The other thing is, I distinctly heard him say, in effect, that she is the product of her upbringing, and she did the things which resulted in the murder Mr Herring, because of that.
So here's my point. Couldn't Mr Herrings family sue her and her family collectively, for depriving him of his life, and denying them the comfort of a loved one? I mean, if her lawyer said they're responsible for the mindset which resulted in her actions......

The judge was soft on a cold-blooded killer who showed no remorse and still sees herself as a victim. In GA you can be released after 30 years on a life sentence and she only has to serve 1/3 of the additional 13 years. She can get out in 34 years and will only be 59.

There is clearly something not quite right with this guy. Does he have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). I don't believe I have seen one single video where he isn't fidgetting with something. If it isn't his socks, its his cuffs. If not the cuffs then his tie. He doesn't seem to be able to sit straight in the chair. He moves the lecturn back and forth before returning it to the position it was in before he started on it. He was endlessly clicking his pen during his entire plea. I wondered if maybe it was a tactic designed to distract the jury, but I think that maybe he cannot help himself.
