  • A judge sentenced Hannah Payne to life in prison with the possibility of parole for the deady shooting of Kenneth Herring in Georgia back in 2019. Payne shot Herring during a scuffle after a hit-and-run crash. Her defense team argued she didn’t mean to shoot him and Payne said she didn’t pull the trigger.

Hannah will be spending more years in prison than I have been alive before she even gets a chance at freedom. That's so crazy to think about. She's 25 now, but she'll be pushing 70 when her opportunity for parole comes around...every moment of her life between now and then, that *enormous* span of time, will be spent behind bars. And all because she felt that witnessing a perceived crime (in no danger herself, despite what she claimed to the court) and having a gun on her somehow gave her the right to deem herself as a police officer with a license to kill.
