The police might not be able to do anything at the very beginning but the first step is to report it so that they can document any recurring cases. It's building a case against him if you ever want to file a restraining order. Also if you ever feel like you're being followed by car, DON'T go home. Keep driving and take 3 or 4 right turns (a loop) to confirm if a car is following you. If it is, pull into a police station or call 911. If you ever get "pulled over" by the "police", but something feels off (lights aren't right, cop car looks like a pedestrian car). Turn on your hazards (to let them know you're aware) and pull into the nearest OPEN gas station or populated highway, stay inside your vehicle with the doors locked. If it is the cops just explain to them you didn't feel safe and wanted to be under surveillance/company (most gas stations now adays have surveillance camera). If you doubt their authenticity you can call the city police department on your phone and have them verify that you were pulled (the dispatcher can walk you through the situation I think). Anyway so sorry about the longwinded comment, I want to do everything I can to share this knowledge with my fellows. Stay safe out there girls.

I have had 3 stalkers. THIS is the only one who scared me: I was on a fanfiction site, won't say which, and I never talked to people outside of comments sections for other people's fics. I would NEVER follow someone unless they had a great story. Never talked to the authors either. Made it clear in my bio that I am not social and do NOT want to talk to people. Just kept to my own secluded bubble because I was raised to be cautious on the internet. Some guy randomly DMd me in the private chat box out of the blue, which can only happen on that site if you follow each other. I was weirded out and talked to them. I was polite and super confused as to how this was even happening. They kept insisting they knew me, that we had talked before, and they got progressively creepier as they asked for identifying info more aggressively. While I kept them talking WITHOUT revealing anything about myself I started checking their account. They had never posted a SINGLE story, which is the only way I follow people, so how in the hell were they private messaging me? I checked their bio. It was blank. I checked their library. Also blank, so there was NO CHANCE it was some rando I talked with in a comment section. I was already creeped out by that point and politely told them he may have the wrong person along with how I worked. The scary part? As soon as I implied that they talked about my state, my IRL nickname, and some personal stuff I won't share. Angrier now I called them out without politeness and they stopped responding, blocked me, and deleted their account. Never heard from them again but it was still the scariest one I have had so far.

He one day texted me if I had a bf and at the time I did. He then asked me if he ever had a chance. Did I text idk maybe? But honestly, I should’ve just texted no but I didn’t because I have never had to reject someone before at that time and I felt bad. He then started to stare at me during art class. Even when I looked over at him he would still stare at me. After that cooled down he proceeded to act creepy around my friend. I won’t go into it but we had to take the matter to the office. Eventually, he got expelled. He tried contacting me during COVID but I blocked him and I hope I never have to run into him again.

But I was also very naive and I just thought he was lonely and I tried to be friends with and even gave him a little chance to be a little more than a friend. I had a stalker in high school and it was only for a couple months luckily but it was really intense. He was a weird kid in my Italian class that a lot of people were mean to so I felt bad and once we got paired together in a project I was really nice to him like I am to everyone. But, I guess he mistook it for me liking him because he'd start talking to me non-stop but always about violence like he said his mom and him hit each other in arguments and he knew how to break someone's spine with his teeth 😨. And I brushed it off mostly because we had out project together but he started telling me he "wanted" me for like sex. Never even said he liked me. 👍 And I got really nervous so I would just not talk to him as much so he started following me around school even though his classes were on the otherside of the campus. And being 16 I was naive and stupid because even though I was creeped out no guy had ever shown interest in me so I thought about going to him because I thought no one else would like me. 😬 But anyway he finally sent me a note in class that said something like, "I'm so hard for you right now" and I freaked out and sent him back a note that said "I'm waiting till marriage. I'm a VERY Christian girl" (which wasn't even true 🤣) and I saw his eyes widen and he started slowly left me alone. So idk why THAT was what got him to stop even though I tried like 20 other things but I was happy

This is why my anxiety rides so high when i meet new people. One bad experience can really change your perspective. Ive only had two stalkers before that were regular and not random crackheads following us on the street, but one was subtle and stopped once i told them i was uncomfortable and just stopped being responsive to them. The other though, was very persistent and got my address, gave me gifts, watched me 24/7 at school when i was anywhere near, would become touchy, and even wrote my name on their arm in a heart. One day they were on my bus because their bus was delayed and they ended up finding where i lived, and would always remind me that they knew where i lived. They scared me badky, but i didnt know what to do. They grew out of it once i moved away though, and were on good terms. But, i definitely cant handle being watched or i have a hard time making friends with newer people.

Unfortunately I understand not wanting to be mean and giving someone too much leeway. You keep thinking that since you know them, they couldn’t actually be THAT awful, and as long as you tell them “No.” it should be ok, right? And then it just gets worse and you regret ever being nice. My ex friend was actively getting stalked by an underaged coworker’s mom cause ex friend expressed feelings for him but didn’t want to pursue a romantic relationship with him until he was 18. This mom left notes on my ex friend’s doorstep, calling her a whore and a slut. She would wait for ex friend to get to work so she could cuss her out in the parking lot, leaving ex friend to feel dread when she had to come in for a shift. Now, thankfully ex friend and coworker never got together, but she started dating a different coworker when he was 17 and she was 21-22, which is really fucking weird in my eyes. Also before anyone asks or assumes why she’s my ex friend: I was talking about her at work (literally was just telling a funny story about her) and she found out and blew up at me, making herself to be the victim and claiming I was trying to ruin her image. She wouldn’t stop blowing up my phone while I was out with my dad, and then stopped talking to me for MONTHS. She also tried breaking up me and my bf when we were one month into our relationship (failed, I’ve been with him for almost 1.5 years), and claimed that she did it cause he was paranoid that I was using him. Emily, if you’re reading this, you’re a two faced bitch and I hope your boyfriend finds out that you’re talking to other guys and leading them on as a safety precaution if you and your boyfriend break up. I hope you don’t speak to me or my boyfriend at his sister’s wedding, because we will ignore you. There’s no reconciling, you pissed us both off with the shit you did behind our backs, don’t act like you didn’t do it.

It’s true I was naive and don’t believe guys think I’m very hottie ( in dark past I was chubby when I lose my weight a lot cause of depression and stopped eat often) i was 17 old year and was work at Walmart as my first job night for 4 months for reason.. of men.. I got asked for numbers from many men it doesn’t matter in age young or old.. I’m sick of men asked me for numbers 40 TIMES. I politely refused their request and told them I’m deaf they quickly lost interest in me.. one day it’s really freaked out me. A man tried stalked me for 3 hours while I was busy to do work and noticed he tried hid and peeked on me.. finally employed told him leave cuz it’s close until 11pm .. then I fucking quit from work..

As a young girl myself I am so thankful for the advice for these situations that these stories bring to me. Actually, something a little similar to this situation happend to me in high school. But I was also very naive and I just thought he was lonely and I tried to be friends with and even gave him a little chance to be a little more than a friend. It didn't end well, he was toxic to me and my friends so I eventually blocked him and after some time he stopped to follow me(mostly because my friends was angry with him).

I had a stalker in high school and it was only for a couple months luckily but it was really intense. He was a weird kid in my Italian class that a lot of people were mean to so I felt bad and once we got paired together in a project I was really nice to him like I am to everyone. But, I guess he mistook it for me liking him because he'd start talking to me non-stop but always about violence like he said his mom and him hit each other in arguments and he knew how to break someone's spine with his teeth 😨. And I brushed it off mostly because we had out project together but he started telling me he "wanted" me for like sex. Never even said he liked me. 👍 And I got really nervous so I would just not talk to him as much so he started following me around school even though his classes were on the otherside of the campus. And being 16 I was naive and stupid because even though I was creeped out no guy had ever shown interest in me so I thought about going to him because I thought no one else would like me. 😬 But anyway he finally sent me a note in class that said something like, "I'm so hard for you right now" and I freaked out and sent him back a note that said "I'm waiting till marriage. I'm a VERY Christian girl" (which wasn't even true 🤣) and I saw his eyes widen and he started slowly left me alone. So idk why THAT was what got him to stop even though I tried like 20 other things but I was happy

This is why my anxiety rides so high when i meet new people. One bad experience can really change your perspective. Ive only had two stalkers before that were regular and not random crackheads following us on the street, but one was subtle and stopped once i told them i was uncomfortable and just stopped being responsive to them. The other though, was very persistent and got my address, gave me gifts, watched me 24/7 at school when i was anywhere near, would become touchy, and even wrote my name on their arm in a heart. One day they were on my bus because their bus was delayed and they ended up finding where i lived, and would always remind me that they knew where i lived. They scared me badky, but i didnt know what to do. They grew out of it once i moved away though, and were on good terms. But, i definitely cant handle being watched or i have a hard time making friends with newer people.

Unfortunately I understand not wanting to be mean and giving someone too much leeway. You keep thinking that since you know them, they couldn’t actually be THAT awful, and as long as you tell them “No.” it should be ok, right? And then it just gets worse and you regret ever being nice. You can always tell what was a bad move in hindsight, but it’s never that big a deal at the time, so don’t think you were dumb for being nice in the first place. Blame the guy for being awful, not yourself for being friendly.

My ex friend was actively getting stalked by an underaged coworker’s mom cause ex friend expressed feelings for him but didn’t want to pursue a romantic relationship with him until he was 18.
This mom left notes on my ex friend’s doorstep, calling her a whore and a slut. She would wait for ex friend to get to work so she could cuss her out in the parking lot, leaving ex friend to feel dread when she had to come in for a shift.
Now, thankfully ex friend and coworker never got together, but she started dating a different coworker when he was 17 and she was 21-22, which is really fucking weird in my eyes.
Also before anyone asks or assumes why she’s my ex friend: I was talking about her at work (literally was just telling a funny story about her) and she found out and blew up at me, making herself to be the victim and claiming I was trying to ruin her image. She wouldn’t stop blowing up my phone while I was out with my dad, and then stopped talking to me for MONTHS. She also tried breaking up me and my bf when we were one month into our relationship (failed, I’ve been with him for almost 1.5 years), and claimed that she did it cause he was paranoid that I was using him.
Emily, if you’re reading this, you’re a two faced bitch and I hope your boyfriend finds out that you’re talking to other guys and leading them on as a safety precaution if you and your boyfriend break up. I hope you don’t speak to me or my boyfriend at his sister’s wedding, because we will ignore you. There’s no reconciling, you pissed us both off with the shit you did behind our backs, don’t act like you didn’t do it.

I got asked for numbers from many men it doesn’t matter in age young or old.. I’m sick of men asked me for numbers 40 TIMES. I politely refused their request and told them I’m deaf they quickly lost interest in me.. one day it’s really freaked out me. A man tried stalked me for 3 hours while I was busy to do work and noticed he tried hid and peeked on me.. finally employed told him leave cuz it’s close until 11pm .. then I fucking quit from work..
