Great vid. I agree. I purchased a 2020 DRZ400SM last Summer and installed a JNS Engineering LED headlight soon after buying my bike. The light is amazing. Not only is it very bright, but I think it updates the look of the bike as well. I also installed a set of Denali Electronics daytime running lights on the front fender to increase my visibility. I removed the little amber side reflectors and used the holes on the metal piece to mount the lights. The lights I purchased come in white or amber. I chose the amber for contrast from the headlight. They are very bright.
Dude that Jns light really makes the bike. 21 E model and out of everything I’ve done to it the headlight was the cherry on top. No cutting required. Thanks for the vid!
You'd need to go to an MOT station to get it spot on. You can get it close. Or cheat and get the beam height similar to your existing one by marking it before removal.
I realize this is quite old now but... I am trying to buy one of these lights. But find JNS communication very poor. What was your experience? I am trying to learn if the light is suitable for UK roads. Jns say. They shop to UK. But wont say anything further .
Nice light, i have one with a simular light pattern.. Same reason i have issue seeing.. Especially when new cars light are so bright you can not see yours so i thought as i`m currently sorting out the front end of the bike... This would be a nice upgrade.. Thanks for the video dude, kinda getting excited to see what mine looks like ;)
Oh wow. I figured there would be a decent difference but that’s massive. I definitely need this, I do some nighttime commuting and this would really help a lot. Thanks for the video. 👍
Hello. Please Mr. Spice. Do you know if there is an gent for these lamps in Ireland? I looked and only saw US dealers. I would like one. Thank you. Jimmy.
As I said in the view I was sent this by them directly. I am sure you just buy it from them and they ship it, it's only a small company. Tho not for the uk, you may need to lengthen the asdjument slots to get it to be high enough for UK mot
Hi, just purchased a 2021 DRZ400s, ( not a super moto) I dont see in the description where this light will fit, but if it does, I'd sure buy one. Do you know if it will?
Most LED lighting specialist companies like Baja Designs and Nite Rider, rate the lighting output of their lights in lumens, with 4,400 lumens being about the max for a single unit and costing about $250. I wish this product listed its lumens for comparison.
The problem with using the LED bulbs alone is often you will find they do not sit in the correct location for the low and high beam geometry of the headlight reflector. Secondly in the UK they are about to or have made LED bulbs in a housing they were not designed for I.e any bike that came with a standard bulb an MOT fail. Obviously, if they do sit right and you switch them out on mot day you should be fine.
Looks great mate looking for your opinion I'm 22 and just done my cbt is it worth me doing my a2 just now or just waiting until I'm 24 to do my full licence?
I would say take 2 years to learn the basics then move up to the A in one go. However if you think you would be happy on a a2 bike long term then you can always do it now.
@@ScottsLife98 I would do the A2 maybe get a Duke 390 or a Yamaha xt660x you would learn a lot more on something bigger than a 125cc. And at least you get the experience of doing a mod1 and mod2 should make it much easier. And it's much safer not having to have L plates the cars see them as a target as they know your bike won't be fast if it's learner legal
@@ScottsLife98 well they have made getting a full bike license really expensive no matter what way you look at it. I'm surprised anyone bothers really. Hey spicy I doubt you’ll reply but it’s worth asking you. I’m wanting to take my a2 license module 1 and I was wondering does the test centre provide you with a motorcycle or do you need your own one
Hey I reply loads! No the test centers do not have bikes. This is one of the reasons you do your training with a school and you take the tests on their bikes and that covers all the insurance etc. 👍
You would need someone to lend you a bike and get insured on it to use it in that way I believe however. Honestly you won't pass and will waste money. I was on a 125cc for 7 years and I still needed 3 days for training and tests. Have you ever ridden a 600cc bike? Damn right dude! This light is like $30 on ebay, but with no mounting brackets/hardware. $140 at JNS. That means you pay $110 for two very basic brackets and some nuts and bolts. I was so close to checking out for one of these on JNS before continuing to research and discovering this. May look into to buying the ebay light and fabricating the brackets myself.
The new light is incredible! Lighting has clearly come on a long way since this original one was designed. Well worth the upgrade! 😁
What a difference. The new headlight makes the bike look quite futuristic.

I'm looking at getting their KTM style one. Did you have to pay import tax on yours?
Is this OK for MOT? I see it says dot sae but is the beam pattern right?
I am going to get that check next week hopefully but I have no fear it can't be adjusted to pass.
I was wondering that. I know any hid light that is not standard fitment was made an MOT failure a year ago.
