The ending was hilarious! I remember being in first grade thinking, "what about the player that lost, what were they doing, did they have to hold the camera? Were they crying?" And the character is LITERALLY doing a losing animation hahaha! I'm sending this to my friends. Hope you get more views now that this is out in Switch!
I don't blame you, announcer. "What happened?" Wave Race 64 became a technical achievement in simulating the water. I find it amazing that the waves happen when the racers are around making the game play smoother.
Waverace 64 is CRAZY when you know HOW they rendered the water, the physics, and how ALL the jetskis can make their own wakes. It's literally a fluid physics simulation running on the N64 engine, and it's STILL the most accurate (yes, even next to Blue Storm). They literally worked with a Kawasaki jetski engineer to get the jetski mechanics down, too, IIRC?
Revisited this amazing game on the Switch this week! I absolutely love Wave Race 64, the moment I entered my first race in over 20~ years the game completely came back to me. The music, voiceover, sound effects, this game was a huge part of my childhood. Great video, too! I love seeing these out of bound secrets to these old games. You've definitely shown some things I've missed (including the hunting guy and penguins). The most fascinating thing is definitely the loser animation at the end! In keeping with the light-hearted spirit of this game, I can see why someone may have made the call to not include that in the final game.
They should put lots of easter eggs in games. Make hard and rare to reach places that you could explore in game. It would make games that much better in many ways.
It's a crying shame we didn't get a true sequel to this game on the Nintendo 64. Wave Race: Blue Storm kinda sucked.. 😂 Also, thanks for the upload! I find content like this super interesting. Wally and his corgi is something I never noticed.
the animation of fourth place in the sand was not done for nothing, the player has to be in fourth place but above the necessary score to continue that this scene happens normally, and more, the music that plays in this scene is not in the audio menu of the game, it's like an easter egg, there are different animations for second and third place too, but it's very difficult to stay in these positions and see these scenes, since we almost always have a game over when we don't win, I already managed to do this "achievement " sometimes!
That little bit at the end was really cool. Never thought I’d learn something new about this game. It might be my favorite video game ever made. :)

I feel kinda bad for the racer that comes 4th now
Always loved this game and trying to push the boundaries. Keep up the good work on an excellent series!
Awesome vid! Was always curious about how they pieced this classic game together.
Man I thought I was the only one who saw the duckhunt guy. I was obsessed with him. He is actually also found in 1080 snowboarding
Really where?
I must know.
@@Nintendude. hmm it’s been a long minute, but I think he is in golden Forrest.

I think Wally is depressed because the jet skis scared off his ducks!
Finishing a championship in 4th place while still advancing, is probably the most difficult thing to do in this game.
Man, you should do Blue Storm as well. Awesome video.
I've never seen the 4th place finish cutscene because you usually just get disqualified if you're doing badly enough.
Loving the series so far, another good video.
Awsome video! Loving the new series!!
Great video!!! I love this game its a totally classic
We called it wave racer When I was a kid

Just wondering how you manipulated the camera in this specific episode.
I love this game
