Over the past 11 months, I've put the Fujifilm XT5 through its paces, in professional settings, creative projects, and documenting everyday life. The Fuji XT5 allows you to have all the modern conveniences of a digital mirrorless camera and marries them perfectly with the tactile experience of the analog world. And unlike the ever-popular X100V, you aren't stuck with just one focal length. This camera is not for everyone, but if you're watching this video, chances are it probably is for you.

I've been loving the X-T5 so much. I've shot it for close to a year now and it's noticeably better at autofocus. I loved the flip screen from the X-T3 but the resolution wasn't great. The X-T4 screen looks great, but I didn't like the tilt swivel as much. The X-T5 isn't perfect but it includes everything I liked from previous Fuji cameras without losing the import functionality and character from previous models. It's a great camera for nearly any situation. Great video and nice photos as well. Keep it up!

Awesome video. Love it. I have experience shooting with the X-T1, X-T3, X-T4 and X-H1. Awesome cameras all of them. Would love to find some mint ones one day and keep them all. Sold them when upgrading. I recently owned a X-H1 but it got stolen, autofocus was not so cool but i got some kickass shots with it. I will pick up a black Fujifilm X-T5 tommorow.m. Would have loved a silver one, but those are harder to come by. I will pair the X-T5 woth a 50-140 for now. Kind of big, but good thing i have it, shots with 140 look amazing. Big fujifilm fan and addict, love them. Thanks for the vid. Very inspiring. Keep up the good work!

Great stuff Reggie! Been looking for a camera to document my life as well and you absolutely sold me with the experience of being able to do exactly that and also switch between photo and video as well. I'm in between this and the xs20 which I tried personally and love, but also I do like the dials and thinner design of the xt5! Great to see your review as always. I haven’t touched my xt5 but I have occasional need for it as family asks me to do family portraits, makeup, etc and as a mom I am gonna need it for my kid’s school etc. what lens do you recommend for school events like concerts? I have the kit lens right now 18-55 f2.8. I really don’t miss the heaviness of Nikon and canon dslr’s and I’m not in the mood to jump the Sony bandwagon. Plus, having this compact xt5 doesn’t make people feel uncomfortable when I’m out shooting public

Hey Reggie, I'll give you my thoughts probably as a landscape photographer. I have used it for a few other things as well but the majority of my work is in landscapes. What can I say about the camera what do I love about it. I love the image quality. This thing is seriously tax sharp. I shoot often at about F9 to F11 and it's a really sharp camera. And while the retro dials are seen as a bit of a novelty for people outside the Fujifilm family as a landscape photographer they are a godsend because you can simply adjust things on the fly. While you're standing over your tripod, or with the camera in your hands. I love the simplicity nature of this camera, and it works really well in many situations. I am often shooting in blue hour and golden hour at the end of the day, and the low light performance of this camera is actually really good. You've just got to know how to correctly expose the photo with a crop sensor camera. With a full frame camera, you can just simply under exposed many images and still rescue them in post you can't do that with the FujifilmXT5, so, in many ways, the FujifilmXT5 has made me a better photographer again because I have to be conscious of light. Okay, I have done some other commercial work with it events people and so forth and I found it to be super reliable. Yes it does miss the odd shot but you'll find bar a Sony camera. Most camera brands are like this and the camera isn't perfect but for the majority of photos I've taken with it of people it's nailed probably about 90% of the shots to 95% I'm happy with that and if you're shooting in burst mode when you're shooting people, one of your photos is gonna be good so it's not a drama at all. I have also used some Nikon lenses on the XT5 as I have the adapter which is the better adapter and it works really well. In fact, I took some awesome sports photography photos of some surfers the other day with the 70 to 200 Nikon and it was an awesome camera to be honest. In that moment I thought wow I can actually do this with this camera and the images were Pin sharp what I would say about this camera is it's a really good all-round camera and to be honest I can't really fault it in too many ways I do wish that I had a slightly higher buffer rate, but you know what you can still burst off 10 or 15 shots over 3 second period and you're gonna get one or two photos that you can still use for what you need them for. Let's go back to the film days we shot sports with film cameras. yes No auto focus and we were still able to take great photos of sports and action with those cameras so this you could still take a great action shot. I think people today want the cameras to be perfect so they can just point it and click the button and I don't see the point in that. I still like it to be a skilful hobby. I love the sharpness of the files that come out of the Fujifilm, Max T5 that's what I really like and even when I push the ISO up to 1600 I still get pretty sharp, clean images and nothing that Lightroom den-noise can't fix anyway. I love the screen and the way it works. I don't use the viewfinder a lot but it's adequate a lot of people have complained that the viewfinder should've been better but the trade-off would be then the battery would die quicker. Yes if you have a more brighter EV then that means it uses more battery and your battery goes flat quicker for me I would rather have slightly less detail in the EV and have better battery life as a landscape photographer. Sorry if there's any typos, I use voice text and wanted to give it a longer review. I'm also part of the Fujifilm XT5 Photography page and on Facebook it's a great Community on that page and we all share a common love for this camera. If you go over to that page you will see the love that this camera has

Hello! This video was super helpful thank you so much, I loooveee your photos! I wondered what lenses you used for these photos?
I'm an amateur photographer and I had my old digital camera stolen which was Nikon, I've used film in the mean time but just with old cameras with fixed lenses. I want to buy a mirrorless digital camera especially as I am about to go travelling for a while, so want to get a transportable camera but then also a go-to for anything after I stop travelling, so felt like the XT5 might be a good option! Hoping to get 2 lenses, one small compact one, and one that's a bit bigger with more zoom for when I'm not travelling but I am unsure which ones to get!

I owned a XT2 in the past couple of years and upgraded to Xt5 last year. Xt5 is undoubted a faster and more reliable camera comparing to xt2, and better in many aspects. However, sometimes I missed the Color produced by xt2 especially in Provia, which is a bit different in the two machines.

I went from XT30 to XT4 to XT5. The autofocus upgrade is immense and the size reduction from XT4 in the hand really made it feel like a perfect balance between the XT30 and XT4.
I find the camera continues to have more bugs than my other two cameras despite the firmware updates which are annoying. The camera sometimes seems to struggle between quick fire switches between photo and video when you need to do both which I didn't seem to have with the older cameras and I suspect it's the higher resolution sensor (and the larger files) slowing the switch down

Not sure if it's normal, but it makes sense that it would be if the rubber seals are just rubbing together. @@Reggiebphoto more specifically, with Black Friday, the end-of-year holidays quickly approaching, I would like to acquire an environmental portrait lens in order to photograph families, children in an indoor context in low light without flash like outside day or night (the Christmas markets are coming with beautiful night lights :-)). I shoot with the Fuji XH2S.
I have the 56mm APD 1st Generation whose bokeh and focal length are very nice but you know it's execrable AF. Last year I bought the Sigma 18-50 which is practical but overall I am disappointed because the bokeh is not eau pronounced for me.
So I'm looking for a lens with a larger aperture at 1.0, 1.2 or even 1.4. (to increase the bokeh, have a better ISO setting in low light) but while maintaining a beautiful sharpness worthy of 2023.
On the other hand, I would like a top AF knowing that I often capture the moment (children playing, friends chatting, etc.).
Watching your videos, I'm still hesitating between a Sigma 56mm, a Viltrox 56, the new Fuji 56 or changing focal length with either the 30mm/33 from Sigma/Fuji/Viltrox or going for the Fuji 90mm F2 or the Viltro 75 or 85 mm. But even if the latter are better for good compression of shots, I fear that it will not be practical enough for indoors pictures by limiting to head shooting. On the opposite, isn't a 33mm too wide to have bokeh without distortion because you would have to get too close to the subject?
Another thing, I'm really not a fan of Cats-eye, onion ring and important chromatic aeration which are a limiting factors for me. On the other hand, a vignatage does not batter me. Based on this, what would you recommend to me to buy on my Fuji?

You came up with great answers already, friend! Two bodies means less lens switching. Some shoot with one prime and zoom, some take two zooms or two primes. Whatever fits your needs best! There are many exciting and good Combos out there, but generally you would want something like 23 or 33mm and something with more zoom like the 56 or 90mm. Some rely on the 16-50 and 50-150. Having two bodies is also vital safety! If one camera fails, you have at least one back up. Imagine you are booked for the wedding. Everything is checked, packed and you arrive at the wedding. Take a few shots and suddenly your only camera is dead. You are s... out of luck now. Do you want to be the Person to tell the couple that you can't do the job and document this once in a life time event? Bring two bodies :)
