Oh such memories... I grew up in Michigan and we went to Frankenmuth each year.... I don't get back too much to the lower only for UofM vs. University of Minnesota wrestling but I get to the upper a lot more. Thank you for reviving this recipe for me - I will be making it this week with some country sausage.
Thank you for sharing! I love Frankenmuth. One of my favorite places since I was a kid. I got the recipe from an old cook book I found in the Frankenmuth museum.
Looks good. I always use my bacon grease as a roux. Never seen it done with eggs before. I love EVERYTHING Frankenmuth. I also think you do a very good presentation. Friendly suggestion: boil those small potato bits for 10 min. or less, also, put a damp towel under your cutting board to keep it from sliding (much safer). Good Job & thanks for sharing.
@@toriawilliams9431 it was my mom's specialty! I don't know the measurements because we just threw everything together but... Potatoes, cut-up onions, pieces of cut up bacon (cooked but not crispy), hard boiled eggs cut up... White vinegar, veg oil, salt & pepper. I used to make it in huge batches for parties because everyone LOVED it and you could leave them out (no mayo to spoil!). I gave up making them because now my grandchildren live with me, and they don't like potatoes! Just play around with it and you'll know when you get it just right! I did use lots of vinegar and they were nice and tangy!! Good luck!
This potato salad looks and sounds so yummy. Thank you for sharing.
