Little Owls | Two week old chick update| Breeding Birds Of Prey

Two weeks on from hatching we catch up with the Little Owl chicks.
Once again they have grown .
These owls are captive bred, not taken from the wild. It is illegal in the UK to release captive bred birds into the wild. I breed a very small number of birds where there is demand from other falconers.
A few other quick facts about them:
They will be fully feathered and ready to fly at just 6 weeks, and will be giving it a good go before then!
They are eating raw mouse and chicken today. They can only eat raw meat. They do not eat seeds or leaves. I give them a diet that nutritionally matches a typical diet for a Little Owl in the wild. It is a mixed whole carcass meat diet.
