- Hello everyone! This week I Say My Name from Beetlejuice The Musical with a couple friends!
This is probably my most ambitious collaboration to date. This song is very very v e r y hard. There is so much acting and singing and talking. It’s was a lot of work but equally a lot of fun! There is definitely some stuff I could change and improve but generally, I’m pretty darn content with how this came out.
I thought it would be crazy difficult to find anyone who could do that weird gravely voice thing that Alex Brightman does in the show, but I was wrong. Turns out, my man Pasta can do it! And he did for the whole song! I’m flattered that he would shred his vocal chords for lil’ old me and extremely grateful for him joining in. Then there's Sedgeie and Ben! Both vocal gods in their own right and so fast at giving me their lines god bless. They’re always such a pleasure to work with and the Mom and Dad energy they brought to this cover is otherworldly. Thank you all for collaborating with me on this absolute BEAST of a song.

FUN FACT: Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice) has a rare mutation where he can squeeze some flaps in his throat to make that gruff noise without hurting his vocal chords. He talks about it in interviews. He's very proud of it xD

Anna u were made for Lydia and of course hit those vocals beautifully. Pasta it was outstanding how u managed to sound even creepier then BJ. Ben your personality fits so well with Adam and every spasm was great/funny. Oh and Sedgie u with ur sweet voice and just sounding like ur done with ben was the cherry on top.

I think its because of the style of singing Alex uses and they're trying to replicate it the best they can, which is good but then again, its kinda hard to sing in such a rough voice as smooth as Alex does without sounding "sick" etc.
