Oh my gosh I loooooved this game as a kid! It scared the shit out of me but I couldn't stop playing it. The sound effects with the little clicks and clacks was so soothing to me. Thank you for this trip down memory lane, I might have to give it a look again!
oh my god this is flooding me with memories. ispy spooky mansion was one of the first games i ever "played" i.e. sat in my moms lap while she helped me. I was terrified of it as a kid bc i was "sit in your moms lap while she helps you " age. its so weird going back to something that used to terrify you just to find its now charming if anything. thanks for posting this Append: If you want a recommend for a charming hidden object game the living legends (ice rose, frozen beauty, wrath of the beast, ect) series is a favorite of mine and you can get them like .99c from gamefools. They are fantasy winter curse themed and very pretty.
Oh my God, you just unlocked an ancient memory of mine. I used to have the demo disc that had I Spy Fantasy, Treasure Hunt and Spooky Mansion. Obviously since it was just a handful of demos I never finished them, but man does this give me nostalgia of playing them over and over
Dude, I remember playing this as a kid, was probably a deluxe version but I very much remember the bathroom and the sink, I think I found a clue during an I spy part and it had some odd message come up, idk what exactly it was though
I’ve always loved I Spy since I was a kid! I grew up playing the Wii version of I Spy Spooky Mansion. My now wife and I started dating in November, so a little before our 1 year anniversary I got a Wii and this game and with a lot of convincing got her to play it with me. She’s not much of a gamer, but it didn’t take long for her to fall in love with the charm that games radiates! We played through the whole game over a few nights and had a blast! We have a 6 month old now and I can’t wait to play it with her when she’s older
I played the heck out of Spooky Mansion deluxe. I loved that there were so many things to do, and I'd play it all in one go for hours. It was my favourite book too. I checked it out from the library countless times. I still have the disc for the game but its not in the case, so its terribly scratched up. Not like it would work anymore anyway. But I absolutely love it. I also have 2 others, Treasure Hunt and Fantasy. These games were awesome.
I totally forgot about this game!! The "Enter if you dare...." scratches an itch in my brain I didn't know was there until I heard it. We only had a handful of computer game disks growing up (Nancy drew games, pajama sam, and tonka joe, to name a few) but this was one of them! Loved that little skeleton guy, thank you for the trip down memory lane
Thank you so much for this compilation 😭 i was terrified of it as a kid but played it repeatedly anyway cause i loved it so much. Im so glad all the games have the skeletons voice acting, its so nostalgic! And iconic!
Holy nostalgia. I sunk so many hours into this game as a kid. The sound effects and just seeing the different scenes just unlocked a core memory and legit gave me chills. Something about beating these older PC games was so satisfying.
dude you just shot me at light speed down pure memory lane, holy hell. that opening music alone. i remembered getting terrified by this game but also loving the atmosphere and puzzles. i liked how it had a story that kept you going - as a kid, having a game give me rewards the longer i played was the best.
I taught myself how to use a virtual machine for the purpose of playing I Spy Treasure Hunt. Had to painstakingly follow a 45 minute video tutorial but it was worth it. I would spend hours playing those games as a kid and made my mom check them out from the library over and over again. The sound effects are still ingrained in my memory.
ISpy was my absolute favourite books as a kid! I remember having an ISpy computer game that took place at a pier with pirate and beach themes, don’t know what it was called but I absolutely loved that game to death and replayed it constantly
I used to play this game all the time. It was so creepy, yet always intrigued me to come back and replay it every so often. This game might be where my love of creepy atmospheric games comes from.
I used to have the Ispy games on my old computer as kid. Very nostalgic revisiting spooky mansion in this video. I hope you make a Goosebumps video in the future🙏
Honestly IF we gotten another I Spy game, I wouldve been down for I spy Christmas or something more original like Ultimate I Spy for the wii. I too was a Fantasy kid, it was also my preferred game out of the I Spy games I owned for PC and the Wii. Weird fun fact, Jason Griffith is the Riddle reader in the Wii remake of Spooky Mansion! Which I give the developers credit for not making it just a port of the PC game like how Pajama Sam was ported to the Wii or just the photos of the books. Also, the fish tank from Ultimate I Spy appears in the bathroom of the remake, shrunken down but it is the actual tank!
No way! *THE* Roger Craig Smith read the riddles in the Wii version of Spooky Mansion?! I don't remember seeing his name in the credits. 🤔 Anyway, that's pretty cool. 😃
One of my favorite PC games as a kid. I was a console player through and through because my families pc was ass so when i did play pc games this was a top, i can barely remember most games i played on pc at the time but i never forget this one especially because i loved horror as a kid.
Our library used to only have 1 of the I Spy books when I was a kid but I loved it. I used to borrow it and another similar book called Look-Alikes all the time.
This is such a well done video, I love this concept of a super deep dive of a forgotten game, and now I know all about it for no reason. Excited to check out more from your channel :)
The I Spy games for PC were my entire childhood. They were games we used to play over and over again. My little brother and I played it together for hours at a time. It was just so great❤
I was an easily scared child. Played this game in my computer class, downloaded it and played it at home (with viruses but to be fair it’s pretty surprising that a second grader could even find a playable free version of it) and I got scared that I would be trapped in the house so I had to sleep in my parents bed for a bit.
Brooooo I'm so glad you made this video. I used to play Ispy spooky mansion at the library when I was little. I recently bought the Deluxe version on dvd and its just as I remember! I never knew there were other versions of this game!
I always begged my mom for a new I spy book as a kid. I then gave them to my aunt and uncle when their grandkids were old enough to do it. ❤❤. I’m definitely thinking of buying them again, for the nostalgia
wow I never thought id see a video about this! about a year ago my gf got the deluxe version running on her virtual machine and we played it. it was defiantly a trip down memory lane. I used to go to my local library and play the game on their computers
Never played the games but absolutely loved the books. There was always something new you didn’t notice before every time you looked at it,didn’t matter how many times, but there was always something
I used to play the Wii version all the time as a kid. It was the kind of game you play as a child that feels so difficult it’s really rewarding when you get to a new level or get another piece of the puzzle or so on.
No certificate in the Deluxe Edition? That's not very deluxe if you ask me.... Man, I remember DVD games, and just DVDs that had "mini-games" in them. I'm not sure if I miss them or not. Good effort on the iPod, though. Hope it wasn't too much of a hassle. Anyway, thanks for the video! Keep up the good work!
I remember playing this in my childhood; alongside Pajama Sam, some game where I think the character you play as was a rabbit, and a Spongebob point and click. I actually managed to find a disk in its original paper sleeve at a thrift store, and if I weren't terrified of accidentally downloading the wrong software, I would totally get a virtual machine to play it again
I remember playing the original game as a kid. It was one of those things where I loved the little jingles, the animations, the actual game of finding things, but at the same time the game was really creepy to me. But I think the creepiness factor is what made it really stand out. I think I remember having I Spy game where it was outdoor themed? But I dont remember it nearly as well as the Spooky Mansion
Thanks for this video!! Was a favorite of mine as a kid, and I still break out the game every spooky season. I owned 3 versions growing up- the original, deluxe, and wii
Randomly had this suggested to me on my front page and I'm glad! My sisters and I practically live like it's Halloween all year long, so we really enjoyed these games/books while growing up; especially the Spooky Mansion. Recently found that box set you featured in the beginning of the video at Costco and I lost it, getting all giddy like a kid again (and I'm 34). My husband instantly bought it for me and I occasionally just chill on the couch now and read them for fun which is saying something since I'm not a huge reader. Good video, btw! Subscribing to you to see what else you have in store.
I have to the I Spy Spooky Mansion for the Wii. But the three spinning plane mini game was a pain for me and my brother. Might have to try to replay that game again.
I remember "playing" in this game with my neighbor on their family PC as a kid. I put "playing" in quotes because we never got far. When the skeleton told us we couldn't leave we freaked out because we thought that meant the computer screen was going to be trapped in the game forever, and that we'd get in trouble, so we hit the massive stop button before it was too late.
Thank you so much for making this. I frequently think about the Treasure Hunt version, which i played a lot as a kid alongside the Spooky Mansion DVD. The Treasure Hunt version is probably responsible for my obsession with scale models. Also, nice Magdalena Bay shirt!!
I had memories of a mish-mash of different Ispy games I played on computer, and I thought I was crazy. But then, I found Ispy mystery, and realized THAT WAS IT! I wanna order it from eBay at some point to replay it. I still maintain that that is the best Ispy game bc it had a bit of everything.
Yo the deluxe version was my JAM!! I also had the Fantasy one as a kid, which had 3 different adventures (a space one, a sandcastle one with a dragon, and an undersea one… I think?). Honestly I was never that spooked by the spooky mansion one but I remember some parts of the fantasy one REALLY freaking me out for some reason.
When I was like 7 my nana gave my this disc that came as a Wendy’s kids meal toy. It was one of the only mildly scary things I would play as a kid lol I was pretty much a wuss for a long time. I still have the disc, still pretty fun when I played it a few years back. Only thing is I think that it has less stages than the regular disc.
This was my jam back in the day! I loved the PC version! I never played the Wii version, but if kid me knew it existed, he would've bought it in a heartbeat!
You can buy this game along with a few other I Spy games on Big Fish. I used to love this game as a kid, and as an adult I got to relive the magic by playing it with my kids :)
i played (i think, it might’ve been the original) the deluxe version on a library computer as a kid. it was pre-downloaded on the child’s computers. but the kids computers had a 60 minute limit, so i would only be able to get a certain length into the game. i loved to play it like every time that i went to the library. it was always so fun and charming to me. it’s a core memory from my childhood
Man I wish Scholastic would publish a compilation set of the OG I SPY video games on modern hardware. So many parents would by that for their kids, it'd be great! :D
Born in 2000. This was my childhood. I used to beg my older sister to get pc version up and running for me. My favorite part was making the different ghosts from the different ingredients. I think there was a spider one that scared me.
We had the Pirate one. My mom, brother, and I first played it in the library and fell in love with it that we actually bought it to play at home. I have a few I Spy books still, I’m not sure if I have this one tho. I’ll have to check when I get home.
I was so terrified of the Wii version as a kid and my parents wanted to help me get over it, so we started playing it together but i freaked out at the title screen and ran over to the dryer and clung for dear life. My mom tried to pry me off but I didnt budge, so she just dragged the dryer along the floor with me still on. We still have the scratches on the floor lol Also why did they make the skeletons eyes yellow on the case? That freaked me out too
I loved this books as a kid. Spooky mansion was my favorite book. I did find these books scary as a kid too. I think it was how empty and liminal the spaces felt that gave me weird existential crisis
I had the treasure hunt game for the PC growing up but about a year or two ago found the Wii game at a big garage sale event. My sibling and I sat through the whole game in one sitting and felt tortured by the end. The one saving grace was sonic the hedgehog narrating some of the puzzles.
Man, I remember playing the original as a kid(dubbed in Dutch). The attic was so scary but I think I at least played it a few times haha. Didn't know there were more games :0
7:09 Typical fix would be to 1) (optionally) select “Change Settings for All Users” 2) “Change High Dpi Settings” 3) “Override High Dpi Scaling behavior” scaling by “Application”. This allows the app to scale itself independently from the scaling done by Windows OS. Haven’t tested with the big fish thing, but hope this helps someone.
I recently got back into I Spy big time, and sought to play these myself. I had both Wii games but PC Treasure Hunt is my favorite. If you get an archive version from the Internet Archive or such, you can use ISO software to mount the games to your drive and they run great on modern PCs that way.
Man I remember being terrified of the Ispy games thinking i was gonna get jump scared in these weirdly empty rooms
I Spy books were ahead of their time. Thanks for making me relieve these memories lol.
Holy ITalk I never thought I'd see you here
Hey, it's the Fortnite Item Shop guy!
Oh my gosh I loooooved this game as a kid! It scared the shit out of me but I couldn't stop playing it. The sound effects with the little clicks and clacks was so soothing to me. Thank you for this trip down memory lane, I might have to give it a look again!
Core memory unlocked, I remember enjoying the hell out of these as a kid. Always loved the photography.
I had the I Spy Treasure Hunt game and loved it so much. I still remember so many of the animations and sounds that played when you found an object.
"An eyepatch holds a clue! I hid it just for you!"
This one scared me lol
I Spy Treasure Hunt is incredible; I wish I could figure out a way to actually run my disc, though.
@@linkly9272 ive heard tales of mythical place where you can find a working ROM online
I had/have the DVD series. I don’t think a lot of people know about the cartoon but it was really good. It lives in my brain now

Oh my God, you just unlocked an ancient memory of mine. I used to have the demo disc that had I Spy Fantasy, Treasure Hunt and Spooky Mansion. Obviously since it was just a handful of demos I never finished them, but man does this give me nostalgia of playing them over and over
i had that too!! i replayed them each so much that i started to memorize the stories. there were three stories each
Dude, I remember playing this as a kid, was probably a deluxe version but I very much remember the bathroom and the sink, I think I found a clue during an I spy part and it had some odd message come up, idk what exactly it was though
I Spy is too scary for me. Honestly, might just go back to tetris
Good one
Tetris is too scary for me ima have to go back to pong
@@kabo0se_goes_kaboom935 you kidding pong is scary af im gonna go back to playing with random sticks i find
Too many jump scares with random blocks 😢

I Spy Treasure Hunt was easily my favorite of the games when I was a kid, it even had some replay ability with three different quests!

Holy nostalgia. I sunk so many hours into this game as a kid. The sound effects and just seeing the different scenes just unlocked a core memory and legit gave me chills.

3) “Override High Dpi Scaling behavior” scaling by “Application”.
I played this so many times. I loved these games.
