My favorite part about Coco’s “I lost all hope today” verse is that she opens the song, and mentions that her “car broke down”…… and then that’s never brought up again as a plot point for the rest of the song 😭😭😭 like… ok? LOL
I mean it’s a *WEAK* plot point but I think it’s there to illustrate the fact that Coco was in need of help and wouldn’t have ended up at that bar had her car not broken down.

Oh god aiden’s Patricia was just way too hard to watch. There was just absolutely no plan going into that one. And besides that one role in rocky horror (which aiden was trying to portray the actress herself, not that character), Patricia is not too well known and doesn’t have many recognizable traits.

The worst part of Patricia's SG wasn't the actual performance, but the fact that Aiden knew her personally and the original Patricia came out on Twitter to say she was deeply offended by Aiden.

one of my personal favorite bad performances was Spice as Miley Cyrus, it was so surreal, the 10 or so seconds of uninterrupted "duh huh 🤪🔨" with not even any background music, it felt like a fever dream. with a show as heavily produced as drag race, that moment was so awful they just played straight raw footage 😭
It was Spice as Miley and Sugar as Trisha, but omg that was the most painful thing I've ever watched 😭😭

I still think Trixie wasn't that bad. The Grace Jones joke you pointed out, if Ru laughed at that we would think it was hilarious. Even if the woman herself has been saying for years that she bombed snatch game I don't believe it

It really wasn’t that bad especially after RuPaul LITERALLY used her “winner winner chicken dinner” line. It’s aging very well
for a couple snatch game performances i very much think this. the jokes arent that bad just the silence afterwards is painful. i remember several snatch game performances that if they just edited rupaul laughing i would totally buy it
I think it's maybe the best example of production manipulating and gaslighting both audience and contestants. It's the same impression everyone loved on YT, identical delivery. Add a ratchet effect and a cut to Chenoweth and it's a bomb. Motives pretty obvious too - if Trixie hadn't "bombed" there'd be 100 worse impressions of Ru on Snatch Game by now.
I thought Utica actually had some good jokes in there. And her telling Ru to stand up was ICONIC. I thought her jokes were a *little* too straightforward and harsh, but if she had arranged and worded them in a more clever way nobody would have cared about that.

My favorite thing about LaLa Ri’s bag look is that the winner isn’t even the second most discussed when the bag ball is brought up it’s always LaLa Ri’s look was beautiful, then Utica was robbed
i think utica should be in the top rank because i love the rumor that she asked rupaul to get up from her chair because when she's sitting on the judge panel she takes off her heels and puts on pants or something so she doesn't have to be in drag the entire recording.

Omg, I always forget about that Milk performance until someone brings it up and I die every time. I think my brain refuses to commit it to long-term memory out of self preservation. Say what you want about the season 8 New Wave performance but to this day I find myself randomly saying “rectangle girls of the world!” to myself
probably one of, if not, my MOST referenced episodes. all those performances live in my head rent free.
I think the reactions to some of these are what makes them so great. Like when I think of LaLa Ri and her bag look what I will always be thankful for is it gave us Nicole Byer cocking her head in confusion. Utica's roast may have been painfully cringe but Loni Love heckling her made it amazing.

What’s always interesting to me about LaLa Ri’s outfit is the bag wasn’t even her first choice. You can see Utica going over to help LaLa put something together, LaLa giving up cause it wasn’t working and just chose to staple bags together. She did all of that in the time Utica made the sleeping bag look- which makes it so much funnier to me

Utica's roast was one of the few times my mother and I ever fast forwarded an episode. It was just too painful.
The iconically bad challenges are often more memorable than the good ones (me thinking bout “let’s get this roast a cooking” at least once weekly)
Season 5 really is a masterpiece. I don’t think many people will deny that.
I love Utica. Seriously, I adore Utica. I knew she didn't stand a chance in hell of winning her season, but I love her.

As a musician myself, I have to stand up for Roxxxy a bit on Read U Wrote U; she got screwed extra with the mix of the song… if you listen to the verse where she starts the singing part, you hear her vocals just sitting thinly on top of the track and it makes it waaay worse than it could’ve been. Honestly I guess I'm just jaded by this point, but Roxxxy's verse in read you wrote you isn't even bad to me anymore. Maybe when it first came out, maaaaaybe. But now, compared to all the shi- I mean... verses we have now, hers actually sounds pleasing to my ears.
