I know one person got scammed because they were charged like $300 for sessions that never happened and another whose therapist wasn't very homo-friendly and didn't offer any helpful support because of the patient's (or "customer's" because apparently not every therapist from BetterHelp is qualified to be an actual therapist) sexuality.
@@pinkjhit7661 Sell peoples data, nothings said in confidence. Several people said after using them, they were suddenly getting ads for things that they only spoke with their "therapists" about. They also don't verify the "therapists" , many are just unqualified people looking for an easy paycheck. Some stories I've heard.
A woman's therapist was talking to her friend beside her, the woman said she wasn't comfortable talking in her presence. So the "therapist" went into the next room and left the door open and expected the woman to start talking while she was eating popcorn, as if someone's mental anguish was their entertainment.
Another guys "therapist" told him his problems weren't internal, and he was suffering because the world no longer caters to the straight white man, and because he's not a minority that's the problem.
A bunch of people have said their "therapists" either, didn't show up at all, or they were late, either way the people don't get their time, or money back.
So whenever I see a TH-camr now endorse this I immediately think they don''t do some basic research to see what they are pushing onto their viewers.
I think Bob also works with them right? Not saying that makes it better or nun, just a genuine question

That is incredibly true, however, they are a small creator, and small creators often struggle with getting sponsorships. I am incredibly judgmental of bigger creators getting sponsorships from better help, because they have variety to choose from and should be doing research and know better, but smaller creators often don't have many sponsorship opportunities, and tend to actual need the money from sponsorships since TH-cam doesn't pay a lot of creators well.
Even so, promoting something that is harmful for their audience is in the long run harming their channel. Even from a business perspective this is a bad move.

It's not really any better than promoting a service that's been proven to land people with bad health providers in any other field.

My betterhelp therapist completely disrespected my boundaries, found me on Facebook, joined my server and when I switched because I was uncomfortable they had a very public meltdown. Incredibly unprofessional.

The "...Kandy, Kandy wait!" is honestly one of my most disliked moments of drag race. I have no idea what was going through their heads, even from a production standpoint.

I think they thought Kandy was going to be a fan favorite but they highly miscalculated. I love Kandy though- but season 13 was not it.
It's easy, Symone was the winner of the season they wanted so she had to win the lipsync, but Kandy just gave so much drama and good tv so she got to stay too. You could ask the question of why even put them both in the bottom. I think they also wanted a double shantae to drag the season out more to fill the number of episodes they had planned. Lastly, a controversial move like this brings buzz, which is good for the show ultimately if people are talking about it in social media and stuff. Even if it's negative buzz, so far it's hard for it to actually have a negative effect on the show with how succesful it's been with all those emmys

You cannot responsibly platform harmful platforms and say “oh I just trusted my viewers” - it simply isn’t good enough. Drag Race has a young fanbase and so does TH-cam; even though we in the comments section have the savvy to understand what’s going on here, it’s absolutely irresponsible to expect that the target market has that same worldly experience.

@@totallynotkiya It's easy to research a company or business before sponsoring, I get that not everyone knows everything, I sure don't, but the the decision and the outcome of sponsoring BetterHelp without doing any kind of research first definitely falls on this creator. I also get most businesses have shady practices and whatnot, but this is something that often doesn't work and actively harms people (including the therapists) (+ has been involved in a $7.8 million lawsuit, a number that is way too low, for sharing private information).

Also this has been known since 2018. There’s been plenty of time, thus cases and articles describing the incompetence of Better Help. Pretty much the first thing that pops up is how it doesn’t have qualified therapists (stated on their website as well) which is so dangerous to promote.

Nah, no contract. I'm sure it is just because of the way this channel presents itself- is that people (including me) assume he is aware of the backlash BetterHelp has had.
Even if he wasn't aware beforehand, he should still be doing research before sponsoring any business/thing/etc. Heck, any TH-camr should be. I understand sponsoring something that is sort of iffy as long as it doesn't scam or harm people because most people need to pay bills, but this is just a downright shitty sponsorship.

I really love your content but I'm super disappointed to see you took BetterHelp as a sponsor. They are well known for selling users' personal data. Additionally, they are founded by an ex-Israeli soldier and provide free services to current Israeli soldiers while they commit a g3n*cide against Palestinians. All this + their therapists aren't required to be licenced, people have had terrible experiences with them, for example being encouraged to do conversion therapy by a "LGBT+" friendly counsellor

As someone who tried betterhelp, it’s not the tea sis. I got a therapist who literally made me cry and was trying to bully me into self-love in only my 2nd session. I’m going to someone who is actually compassionate now and it’s night and day. Please consider ending your partnership with them, it’s not worth the coin

The only fun thing season 11 gave us was Aquaria (barely) surviving through that rinky dink ruveal seemingly shot for twenty five whole dollars in The Backrooms and even that one good thing has been scrubbed from the drag race history books. Truly a diabolical season. Some say Adam Rippon is still trapped in that liminal space under the WOW headquarters doing trivia and decorating pancakes.
