    Great video man, no bs, no ego and great advice... I'm getting back into dirt bikes after a long hiatus, currently have a mid size adv. But looking for a second bike more suited to the gnarly singles that I love, but the adv doesn't!! I was leaning towards the 300, but this video reaffirmed that choice is a wise one ✌️

    Great video. Thank you ! I'm moving from my beloved KLX250 to a TE300 presently and as you described, a bit nervous. This video really helped me start to get my mind around the transition.

      I'm just about to do the same thing.
      But from the klx to ktm 300exc.
      Also a little unsure 😁

    Interesting video and perspective! I’m in Utah and started riding 1 year ago also and started on a 2019 KTM 250 XC-W TPI. I’ll be honest I think it was the best decision for me personally to start on a 250.
    I’ve learned so much in the past year and feel still I have a lot more to learn such as having better control of the bike and building confidence.
    I also think you couldn’t have gone wrong either way on a 250 or 300. Either way it’s a blast to get out with friends and shred!
    I’m interested to see more content you bring! Keep up the good work!

      thanks buddy! yeah in Utah you have much lower elevation. my 250 kicks pretty hard in utah which is fun! ha ha. thanks for watching man!

      Yeah, he's comparing a TE250 which is the ktms 250XC. The 250XC-W is basically the same as 300xcw. I would recommend the 250XC-W to people unless they weigh over 200lbs.

    I’m a firm believer that the 300 is easier for new 2-stroke riders for all the reasons you listed. The 250 is more fun though!

      When it comes to XC-W, they're extremely close. Really depends on your weight.

    Thanks, that was helpful. I've been riding high displacement motorcycles for years, where clutch and throttle control are important. Looking for my first dirt machine, and kept reading that I need to stay away from any 250+ 2 stroke... I'm in my mid 30's (no longer quite as dumb as I was in my 20's), 215 lbs and looking for a bike a I can keep for a while. I think I'll keep the KTM 300XC in mind.

    Learned how to ride a dirt bike in one day.. First bike was a 110 w/ NO clutch.. Then the second half of the day I got on a 2020 Kawasaki 450.. Kept it in 1st gear the whole time lol, but I got on it and got it going. Have done a ton of research and about to make my first dirtbike purchase, KLX300R.. Sat on it today, 5'11' + 220 pounds...I think it's gonna be the perfect first dirt bike purchase.

    When it comes to xcw they're extremely close. It depends on your weight. TE250 compares to KTM's 250XC. An xcw 250 is geared like a tractor, but still has the quickness of a 250. If your weigh 200 plus go with the 300xcw.

    So the 2 stroke xcw 300 over the ktm 350excf ? I feel like the 4 stroke is much easier to ride compared to the yz250x i owned and hated. I want to like 2 strokes and heard the xcw is different than the yzx and less motocross like

    • @Rich2wheels

      My only experience in 4 strokes is the crf250x which i loved.

    • @RWWRENTAL
      @RWWRENTAL  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      4 strokes are easier to ride for sure 2 strokes I just feel like the fun is better. if you get a ktm300 with a lectron, it makes the power very linear 4 stroke like. I have the 250 so it spins up like a normal 2 stroke but it has low end, but not like a 4 stroke. the 300 still spins up in the rev but just has a little more low end vs the 250.
      the 350EXCF is all low end delivery. I love the 350excf great bike, but now I ride very slow technical terrain where a 4 stroke will most likely boil over everytime. I think the YZ250x would be a great hybrid MX and trails bike. Most people ride 2 strokes in CO because of the slow moving trails and it does not over heat as much. 350 excf though is a great do it all enduro machine

    • @Rich2wheels
      @Rich2wheels 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RWWRENTAL I never considered the over heating aspect. Thanks for your input. I think im going 350exc and fall back in love with riding again and then go from there. Also street legal is a huge plus over here in canada

    • @RWWRENTAL
      @RWWRENTAL  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      200rr is a great beginners bike too, but you will need to be in the revs a bit more to hit stuff and be in the correct gear vs just lugging around in lets just say 3rd gears for the 300. I remember I was lugging around a lot when I first got my te250 that is why i think the 300 would have been easier for me to ride. Granted, I started off with a klx250 so I had my basics down. 2 strokes have come a long way from being rid-able down low.
