Good morning Mike! Wow, when I heard you say that you stayed the night at Jubitz Truck Stop, that brought back a lot of memories for me. Last time I was at the Jubitz was back in 1993. Jubitz was the fueling stop for the company and I always enjoyed going there. It still looks like it's a pain to get out of too.
Thanks for the ride and fond memories of my past! Happy trucking trails to ya!

20:00 - It's cheaper to have a white vehicle - it's pretty much yer standard colour - there is a weight gain as well if you paint the vans another colour - there are a lot of vans (obviously)_ in Amazon service. Think airplanes: there are not so many but they take a lot of paint - cost and weight are a factor here. If Amazon has a 'one rate' freight charge, they have to save money in other ways...

They are white when they are new. They go in for paint after a while and get branded.

Couple for stories for ya. When you left Jubitz and caught the light when you were stopped over I-5, I had an interesting happening at that same intersection back in the mid-90's.(I was probably in Portland getting a container for Les Schwab)
They had a boat show at the Expo and folks were transporting all sorts of boats with anything with wheels. A Willy's Jeep was towing a new FIBERGLASS boat and the light turned on him just as he was coming into that intersection. The boat was only tied down with a rope to the bow and when he slammed on the brakes, the boat flew off and skidded right out in the middle of that intersection.(I don't know how it missed the Jeep, but it did) Anyway, everyone that was stopped at all four corners got out of their respective vehicles, met by the boat, undid the trailer from the Jeep, put the boat back on the trailer, hooked the trailer back to the jeep and sent him on his way. I don't think it took 5 minutes!!!
Another time, I had turned on the off ramp(Exit 307) that takes you to Marine Drive(Or Jubitz) and I got to that screwed up intersection that goes to the Race Track or Marine Drive. I looked over at the truck on my right and it was a guy that had moved to Portland from Brookings, Oregon(SW Oregon) years before. Funny what a small World it is!(;>)
By the way, you have it right when you said "READ THE SIGNS"!!!! you get a set of joints in the wrong place and it WILL make a believer out of you!!!!!(:>)(:>)

Amazon Van at 24:28 put blinker on one blink before starting to change lane. This is the signature of a brainless driver. Should give prior notification so other inconsiderate stupid drivers behind can see what is intended (and give them a chance to speed up to stop the lane change - Yes?).

Stayed at Jubitz Hotel there for a weekend layover. Was trucking out of Maine back then. Brought a load of Chinet products out of East Providence RI to Costco warehouse in Seattle area probably 12 or 15 years ago. Delivered Friday and came down to Portland and reloaded Monday with Ski Wear for store in Portland Maine. Layover was good at the Hotel. Wife was with me. I'm the guy that is now retired and lives in Syracuse Ny. I posted that Saturday you were there. Enjoy following your posts

Howdy Mike, my old stomping grounds. I worked downtown Portland. Way before the Antifa days. It was a little scary riding my motorcycle over the interstate bridge on the top deck. Good ol Hwy 30. There use to be a great place on 30 that served pot roast with all the goodies. I guess you could of gone north on Hwy 30 to Longview, Washington then catch I-5 to Tacoma.

Does anyone know why Amazon doesn't have a logo and/markings indicating it is an Amaxon delivery vehicle? Is it just me or does that seem strange that a business vehicle would not have identifying signage on it?

I love the images of the ground from the trucks. Also, the bridges and down towns. I have never been to Oregon. Looks beautiful!

Why are you on the phonr while driving? It is illegal in many countries and has been the cause of many accidents and deaths. Not a good idea at all.
