- Here's a new type of video for those who are wondering what they need to know about teaching before going for interview at university. Here are 7 different things that I wish I knew before going for interview at different universities.

Here are the small booklets I mentioned in the video- they're small and quick to read but give you a good insight to teaching (a lot is common sense).

I did my training back in the 1990s and haven't taught since. The lack of classroom experience is what has me nervous the most... thanks for this!
Fingers crossed you will gain confidence with good colleagues should you return x
Failte, thanks for sharing the teacher interview details. Great points.
Glad it was helpful! ❤️❤️
This is wonderful advice...and will definitely maximise the best use of my time! I have a tendancy to read EVERYTHING, most of which is entirely irrelevant xxx
Julie, thank you for sharing your experience around what's important for people to know going into their teacher interviews. The points about not discounting one's own experience and not making it all about "me" are really valuable points to bring up.
Elaine Danforth thanks Elaine!! Glad they resonated with you x
Wow. You are so inspiring, and obviously born to be a teacher! Thank you for sharing your experiences, and for highlighting important points in such a clear, concise point. I actually feel relieved, and more positive about my pgde primary interview planning (if i get one). Thanks.
Wow!! Thank you so so much!!! Such lovely kind words!! Thank you so much! Good luck! I hope it all goes well! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much. I love how you touched on things that aren't often discussed. This has made me think about a lot in preparation for writing my personal statement.
Thank you zola!! I’m glad it’s helped x

**UPDATE** Hope teaching is going fab for you. I was unsuccessful last year for the PGDE Secondary. However, I reapplied this year and had 4 interviews. I recently received an offer for my 1st choice so I'll be starting in August.
thank you for sharing your tips from all your experience
Mary Anne Strange -Speak to Engage thank you so much xx
Great tips. Thanks for putting this video together. Do you have any tips for a teaching interview in Scotland? My interview is this week.
Thank you so much! I have my interview tomorrow and this was really helpful!
Please let me know how you got on!! (I just saw this comment xx
Hi, how many weeks did you go into the classroom for on one morning a week? Finding it hard to know how much experience I would need before applying:)
I went in for about 8 months, but I’m think the more experience you can get, the better. That being said don’t let the “lack” of experience put you off. It gives you a good understanding of what’s involved and let’s you know what is for you and where you think you can help/improve x
@@thescottishhousewife3670 thank you❤
Found this video extremely helpful :) Nearly 2 years on, are there any new policies, measures etc that it'd be worth investigating pre-interview? Thanks
Thank you! I would now look at teaching with social distancing measures too- not that I think you’ll be asked this, but it’s always good to show an awareness- if nothing else this highlights social justice issues even more.
