      Very true. I liked it. It wasn't as bad as everyone acts like it is. But it SORELY lacked depth. They were tryingnto do too many things, fit too many references in there, too many red herring and "cool ideas" and it ended up just scratching the surface of everything when there's SOOOO much to be explored in the time period and plot setup they intorduced
      One big example: there's not even a reference to the rule of 2 (which IS canon) and all that would imply within the events of the show
      Still thought it was cool. Nowhere near the leve of these books, but I personally don't think ANY star wars movie or tv show has ever been as good as this or the Bane trilogy or the best of the legends novels

    What's sad is that the Sith are very rarely wrong about the Jedi about most matters. By this point in Galactic history, the Sith have engineered enough allies in their favors to act mostly however they wish. Palpatine becoming Chancellor was just the beginning of the end over the Republic and Jedi Order. The Clones being unleashed on Geonosis was when it was all over. A massive disconnect from the galaxy was shown in ROTS when the Jedi thought they could take over the Senate and boss much of the politicians around AFTER killing a legally elected official (who's also very beloved) with a staggering lack of evidence that would have never surfaced since it coming from the CIS would be just as seen as an attempt by the crazy monks to remove morale. The Jedi stagnated. The Sith adapted. And there was no win-win solution for the Jedi, even if Windu, Anakin, or Yoda killed Palpatine.

      @@cloudmaster182I'm aware. Calling the Jedi as anything but perfect is enough to warrant hate. Someone I know got into an argument why the Jedi weren't therapists a while ago.

    • @jmwilliamsart
      @jmwilliamsart หลายเดือนก่อน +19

      Exactly, the Jedi had lost their way a long time ago when they made themselves subordinate to the will of the senate instead of following the will of the force. As a consequence the Jedi lost their connection to the living force and they became weaker whereas the Sith and the dark side only became stronger.

      @RyanTheDark lol I recall yoda giving therapy to anakin. People must not recall how that turned out

    • @RyanTheDark
      @RyanTheDark หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @@cloudmaster182Warning, controversial opinion ahead. Anakin was the BIGGEST victim of the Jedi Order, something that Lucas quoted him as or similarly multiple times. Despite to what the franchise like to say, Lucas never said Anakin was controlling nor abusive. He also didn't ever say Obi-Wan was an abuse victim. Besides of which, every time Anakin does express how he feels, every time he gives voice to his anger, grief, or disappointment he's gaslighted by the holier-than-thou Obi-Wan (I promise I love Obi-Wan but he has flaws) and the rest of the Jedi Order who somehow misinterprets why Obi-Wan and them themselves have his fair numbers of faults too. Obi-Wan who often intentionally or not weaponized his own PTSD against him and had him watch a mock execution. That tends to make people bottle things up. Maybe that's why Jedi Apologists also routinely argue that the people who kidnapped and tortured Shmi were actually harmless innocent victims and should not have suffered any penalty. Or even that Shmi deserved it for being an "occupier" or something. Of course, Fandom Jedi can't make mistakes. They have to be perfect and anyone who believes otherwise should be hated and disregarded in terms of their own opinion and what have been explicitly backed by George Lucas himself. The mere suggestion Obi-Wan alone is imperfect is liable to result in harassment and abuse. The Jedi Apologists are the most toxic of a toxic fandom. It is of coincidence that a vast majority of Anakin's fans I personally encountered have been abused and most who try to pretend the Jedi as a whole and even Obi-Wan's greatest fans are perfect are gaslighting people. In my own opinion, the only reason why Obi-Wan didn't turn to the Dark Side is because he wasn't groomed and literally SEDUCED for a decade like Anakin was.

    A very small irritant I have with Plagueis is that I wish him and Yoda could’ve interacted at least once. I cannot imagine the profound conversations they would have regarding the force and the Jedi. It would be a very special treat. Alas, I believe Luceno couldn’t have them encounter each other as that would mess immensely with continuity. Love Daniel Davis as Plagueis, he was perfectly cast as the Sith Scientist.

    This is the best way to take down the Jedi sadly Sidious let power get to his head and he kills Plagueis (which of course is the way of sith) but if he kept him alive and they ruled together whether as a corrupted Republic or Empire, the sith rule would have lasted wayyyy longer than two decades!

    Plagueis and Sidious enjoying the benefits of thousands of years of patient accrual of power, positioning and wealth. How all the Sith duos before them managed to stay that patient for so long is astounding considering their nature. I guess intimidating cowardly merchants like Gunray is a good way to vent.

    4:31 Funny that Palpatine becomes the political body who thinks he is just and right lol. I mean, Sith may have some good points about Jedi being selfish or too obedient to the Republic. That's why Luke in the EU knew that this was a problem and didn't want to make Jedi soldiers for the Republic but for everyone, but Plagieus is also selfish and sees the world through Sith eyes. In his mind, Jedi should control the Republic, but that goes against their purpose of being protectors of peace. Sith were always selfish and thought they should control the force to control everyone else. Also, they have crooked views on the Force; Force has no light side, Lucas was always talking about it, that Jedi just follow true Force, they may lose their ways because of arrogance etc. but are still not evil, Sith don't follow the Force, and they abuse it, in og trilogy, dark side was named, but light wasn't; it was always just The Force, which shows that in the end, even if Sith had some good points of view on issues (their crimes still make all their points null) they themselves were blinded by their own arrogance.

    Oh yes. More of Darth Plagueis Wise's voice. Man I love Plagueis' speech about the jedi. It makes the Rule of Two so much more personal. It's not just destroying the jedi, it's destroying their spirit then holding a mirror up to their broken spirit. Plagueis is the biggest reason Yoda spent 30 years on a stinking swamp world in self imposed exile instead of leading the rebellion. This is what 1000 years of concentrated hatred looks like. 6:18 Also Plagueis flirted with Palpatine. Jk.
