CNICHT & MOELWYN MAWR | A 9 Mile Hike In Spring | Snowdonia National Park

- Hi everyone! Today's video is a challenging but really varied hike in Snowdonia National Park to the "Matterhorn of Wales", Cnicht at 689m, & then on to Moelwyn Mawr passing the incredible disused Rhosydd Quarry on the way, nestled below the looming Welsh mountains. I parked in the small village of Croesor, which is the perfect base to start this walk but be warned it's a small car park that fills up very quickly on the weekends! It took me just under 6 hours to complete the walk & I'd highly recommend this walk for anyone looking to explore the beautiful and slightly more remote Moelwyn mountains, which don't attract the same crowds as others do in the national park!

In the Black Forest and in the Alps there are many who do this.
I prefer to stick with the hiking boots 🥾 and the bike 🚴🏻♂️😅

Absolutely spectacular mountains in North Wales, really quite unique! And yes, most definitely an impressive sport to partake in! You’re right, plenty also in the Alps that I’ve seen in the summer - like you, much prefer my feet on solid ground 😂😅

Beautiful video and scenery. A gorgeous part Snowdonia 🙂 it brought back memories of a walk i did from Maentwrog following the railway and onto Tanygrisiau Reservoir past a sort of dam and up to Moelwyn Bach and Moelwyn Mayr. It went really well until i ended up in Croesor instead of the road back to Maentwrog. It was a long journey back on a gated road but hey the scenery more than made up for it . Happy memories. Thankyou once again for sharing
It really is a beautiful part of Snowdonia, quite unique & with so much history too! Yes I’ve heard of the dam on the way to Moelwyn Bach, sounds like another lovely route to do with the exception of the slight scenic detour to Croesor!! @@shefreelyroams hi Christine, no prob answering your question of my hospital issue, hopefully this may help your followers, I stumbled and broke my ankle, lucky I was not alone, but hope this gives you some insight on the importance of safety and being prepared if you are walking alone 👍☕⛺🤕♥️

@@shefreelyroams it was many years ago, and in the world of being in a town/city not a big problem, out in the countryside, weather etc, things can get bad very quickly, be prepared for the worst, it's always a good feeling for me to come home with some kit I didn't need ♥️

Awesome video, went up Cnicht xmas day in 2021, was battered by 60mph winds and rain though, seeing the views in your video i will be going back on a nice day 😊thank you for this and looking forward to seeing future adventures 😃⛰

Yes definitely recommend doing that, the full circular is quite a long day, but really good if conditions are right 👍🏻 & thank you ☺️
