Budrys is one of those SF writers whose works I've always found absorbing. Don't let this video fool you, the novel is an interesting foreshadowing of our current problems with identity theft, and the effects of advanced prostheses. His best book is probably Rogue Moon - the blurbs describe it as being about an alien installation on the moon, but the real story is a character study of the "lucky" astronaut who has to explore it. Budrys is excellent with characterization and his works are in many ways more about the people than the phenomenon in question. I got to meet the man once at a convention, and he's also a heck of a nice guy.

    A better question is "Why?"

Great review Barkey! I remember watching this on TV in the early afternoon as a kid and remembered the ending. Maybe he should have thought about spray painting his head a skin tone, wearing a wig and sun glasses to blend in better!

Thanks, Barkey! I had no idea they'd made a movie based on _Who?_ I read Budrys's novel years ago. I will have to seek this out, after I re-read the book, of course.

Kino Lorber's blu-ray is pretty nifty.

You won me over with having a muppet dog for the reviewer. *Subscribes*

Who is Who? I'm not sure, but I think he's on first base.

    Your channel is very interesting.
You have a professional background, good camera work, lighting and puppet.
    Everything is consistent.
You use language like referring to somebody as a, "cipher" 6:20 for being an unimportant or a throw away character and you mention obscure/old or controversial movies (like Capcricorn One) and yet...
... you only have 1k subscribers.
It's a shame that youtube feels the need to bury or punish videos for being under 10 minutes (I can't remember what being over 10 min. actually means in terms of benefits to a youtuber) but I like that you're concise with your reviews.

Why, thank you! I dunno what it is. I figured people wouldn't want me to yammer on for ten plus minutes, and the retention definitely reflects that. So I try to keep the regular videos shorter. I vaguely aim for eight minutes, but wind up going over that a lot of the time anyway. From what I gather, TH-cam wants long form content so as to stuff more ads into it, and keep people on the platform longer. Me, I just wanna talk about movies and shows and stuff.

The cyborgs face looked like an pudgy office worker. Not very exciting.

Yeah, it seems like it would have been better to have a mask/helmet that matched the book cover and use an actor with a missing hand and a prosthetic limb with some special effects to add movement.
I thought this movie was that Woody Allen comedy.
Probably all the drugs people did in the 70's made them think this was actually a good idea?
