Personally hope new Grade 4s and Masques units will continue to be made, hey they keep making stride decksets why not more of those as well. (Congrats on making the 1k mark as well, and thanks for bringing entertaining content to my Favorite TCG).

holy god this video is the pure reality of me playing magnolia. I wish I had the bugs that put the dragontree marker's and I would play the masques. I really have the deck and I test it, it's not bad but god it's so expensive
As someone who's been trying to make Elder work for forever in the current meta, Masques definitely solved one problem that seems to constantly plague Elder; bigger numbers. While it is a bit to setup, once the engine is going, even without retire, swinging for 5, 30k+ swings is quite the glow up. My main awkward feeling with Masques is that it doesn't allow for much deck diversity, and you essentially traded a lot of your cool Sylvan Horned Beast buddies for Dragontree stuff. While the lore is quite admirable for Magnolia taking on the Masque form, I'm happy Megumi is going back to Elder in the anime, and hopefully it getting some new dedicated support, heck, if I'm really inhaling the hopium, maybe Elder gets a new "Fated One" form itself (please Bushi read this).
With new support in set 13, Elder is kind of back on the map with being able to draw, revive, and recycle in crazy new ways which is nice. One damage trigger still makes me cry, but being able to +5 minimum and bring back a board easily is a very nice feeling. Anyways, forgive the essay, I will always love Maggy forever, just would be cool to see it get support to keep up with all the other decks nowadays.
Yep you pretty much summed it up, the Masques package eats up a lot of space which is why I do not run the Zorga line having to run 6-7 Orders + the Masques stuff is simply too much room taken up by engine requirements rather than pieces that do something.
Not running Rancor Chain and now the 50-card main deck update does aleviate the issue significantly, it's just a matter of finding the right pieces to run and keep an eye if the ZBT01 support might work with it.
Though on the mater of the ride deck one thing Magnolia absolutely needs is a better ride deck because I've never been a fan of the Zorga line as a splashable line. Masques can go Lepcor + Maple for the ride deck to get an engine of free self reviving bodies but G4 does not get that option and no amount of arguing can convince anyone that Charis calling PGs and triggers off the top of the deck will ever be good.

Try adding Alvan, I put 4 of them. If you're wondering, alvan asks two or more to guard. 4 alvan attacks can easily tear opponents hands in half if not all of it. That's what I look forward to see, especially the opponent's reaction. Provided you have force grow, you can spam 2 to guard out of your opponent.

Magnolia Masques is a very powerful card and its support is very good, and now with the 4 extra cards it is easier to make room for the Dragontree Wretches and actual good pieces so that is a good help too.
The core problem is the OG Magnolia is so way past outdated that it is a hindrance. Regardless if you go Masques or G4 you never ever want to use the OG Magnolia it is only there for the name so you can immediately jump to the Evos ASAP.
One thing I do notice is that people keep trying to build Masques as if it was Elder and run really bad cards like Inlet or Enpix that don't work with Masques at all, you need a different mindset when building Masques
I doubt the new support in ZDBT01 will do it but Magnolia needs the Bastion Accord treatment. At minimum a ride line that isn't memetically awful. That's another thing I don't like that you basically have to run the Zorga line because the native line is so bad, the Zorga line forces you to cram in more Orders than you'd want to and whiffs more often than I want it to.

As a Magnolia main... I hate it here. Masque is very cool, and on my opinion kinda unfair as a sole card. I like the new promo that counter charges works nively with Inlet, Goligoat, Forced Grow, marker generator, etc. I like the deck having a literal nuke, and nice numbers. But i the same time i dont like how their front row numbers are horrible. The marker generators aren't that good in my opinion. The deck has a auto loss button against Strau, with no safety net. The deck has potential, Magnolia Masque does in theory have the potential to be game breaking with how it works. But i have made hilarious list thay utilize Roamin Prison and Tide Line. Under persona with Seroll the roaming with marker can hit 40 k with crit. There was a wretch ride deck list that used the Blitz order as a way to generate marker. That was a funny tech. I genuinely think the deck just needs a better Magnolia. Like all the Masque decks got a base form that does something beneficial except for Magnolia and Unica. If the G3 Magnolia did something like draw a card or looked top x for a sylvan horned beast would help it a lot. Especially when Seroll is the decks best number card/searcher. Then give then rears that can either finish game quick and effectively, or a rear that can help produce markers/protect markers.
The simple solution is for a Bastion Accord type upgrade for base Magnolia that does something. That and a ride deck that doesn't constantly call your OTs and PGs to field because some weed smoking intern didn't get the memo that Limit Break Era Gold Paladin sucked.
Nirvana isn't much of a concern at least the deck is bad enough that it rarely if ever attempts to go for the 5 OD.
@@elin111 Yeah, I won't tell Bushiroad my ideas on how to make it better because they clearly hate Megumi. And for being a sheer masochistic player I am. I will suffer with it until they finally decide to give up. Magnolia itself has been the problem since the beginning and if they want it to be the problem until the end of time. Well more value from my DSR LOL

@@gobtherookie9046 The new support actually does help considerably, but it requires doing a fundamental rework of how to build Elder from the ground up.
That whole deal of Elder being a midrangey deck that outrgrinds the opponent over a longer game does not work in current format, Magnolia can work as a very aggro oriented deck that rushes down the opponent as early as Turn 2 and turn 3 onwards needs to make all the attacks at least 25k minimum 28k preferrably if able aided by having pushed the opponent to high damage early.
Is that something that'll Top 8 a BCS again? Hell no, but it works considerably better than continuing with mediocre 20k pokes and trying to farm hand size like before.

how does the deck perform with the new 50 rule and the new supp and rideline? the new rideline really removes the need of using many orders although im pretty new in magnolia to do big brain theorycrafting, probably the cycler to take advantage of energy or something else
The new rideline is the ultimate godsend that Magnolia could've asked for now you can get rid of those awful shieldless Orders and have plenty more room for good units that actively help the deck which is especially relevant for the Masques version where you also have to find room for the Dragontree package.
