Damn, this really is masochist version of nuzlock for vanguard. Not going to lie, I thought at first you'd make it so you use an archetype and if you lose then you lose said archetype and cards for it. This idea sounds fun though, so I might give it a try myself.

The hylander style is interesting but I think you could tweak that rule, instead you could make it so you can run any amount of cards you want but with the idea that if they get retired, bound, or called over, that unit is gone and you can’t play it at all. So you trade deck consistency for the risk that you lose a playset of a unit if it gets killed off

Why are people missing the fact that Dragon Monk, Gojo, can work very well as a Counter Charger?? Sure the attack has to hit. But. Either the opponents wastes cards guarding or you get to counter charge. Either is fine these options get you closer to winning.

U might as well make How to counter Varga Videos also would not recommend Midhat when ur running Rakshasa because they get retire from backrow by your vanguard effect. So BUrnaia is your best card to run (debatable).

As a Varga main, the two OTs I recommend using would be Idosfaro or Nyxlaszelia. Idos can retrieve a card from drop for guard or next turn plays on top of giving Varga 100M and 1 crit, and Nyx can not only heal you one damage, but also call a unit to rg with a 10k for added pressure (if the situation calls for it ofc). Choose whichever one you like, it's all up to preference really. Valnout is also an option, but in my experience the two previosuly mentioned work way better in either Varga deck.
