thanks helped alot, i was planning to waterslide my hot wheels but i wondered how should i remove the previous decals. this vid helped me make my dream fd, i cant thank you enough!
Great tip! But don’t forget to do it in a well ventilated place and wear a toxic gas mask. This chemical is really dangerous for your lungs if used frequently. I think it’s important to disclose that! Cheers!
I've actually done this myself many times but messed up a few of those times and ended up taking the paint off. Now I avoid doing anything to my cars unless absolutely necessary.
be careful when using nail polish remover. you can easily damage the paint. Or even worse.. when you get it on plastic parts like the windows, you can fog them up, or melt them partially. as you can easily see in the video.. the window is fogged up. so practice on an already damaged car first
actually it helps alof but ond concern is it also damages the paint of my caf it happened to my grey fiat 500e and i tried on my civic and it also removes the paint
Bro, use WHITE BOARD MARKERS!! Use them to cover the decals and wait few seconds. After that use a microfibre clog for a nice polish! It’s a very easy and less harmful way to remove decals. Don’t do that, nail polish will remove the original paint as well! Please try it. ✌🏻👍🏻😎
I have used nail polish and damaged the paint. On a newer car. I tried it out on a old corgi van the paint stayed on. But the new car paint came off with the detail.
I think it depends on what car youre doing it on. If it's those exotic cars with alot of sharp edges and articulation you might wanna be careful and not press too hard
Can we do that but on the plastic surface? Because I was tried to use Acetone on my die cast Skymarks models it was made from ABS plastic. I used the cotton and I put on aceton on the cotton. Then, it turns out. When I applied on my diecast using acetone, it ruined my paint. I was wondering if plastic is safe if we using acetone. Because I saw other video that doing an experiment plastic vs acetone and all the plastic will dissolve. I was also get shock when I search on internet if plastic is safe from acetone it said that it is not only strip off the paint but even dissolve it. That’s why I hope you can answer my question. Because sometimes when I tried to using acetone it didn’t meet my expectations.
Hey drifter D, I've wanted to ask a few things. Ive used Aceton on my die cast car but it leaves a mark of colour on the car. If anyone has a solution, please let me know.
Awesome tip! I did this on one of my non - hotwheels supra casings as the tampos were just messy and it worked a treat. Does anyone know how to remove the tampos from hotwheels pop culture cars, they seem to be higher quality tampos that don't come off with this method.
I could try this🤔 Usually I remove tampos with just scratching it using my nail - paint still safe and tampo removed. But this will be good for quicker and harder process 👍

How could you remove Advan decals?
That’s what I’m saying 😂
Thanks, I removed the horrible decals on my Maisto Ford Econovan with nail polish remover
Great video! I am a noob customizer and love this idea and will use it. Thanks.
Have fun!

@@SheriffHortixoon what are you talking about?
Did u say that in nail polish remover
The dood said it in the video, to do it in a well ventilated area.
Thanks, recently bought a second-hand 350Z and I can turn it clean.
It's a decent technique, but it can harm the plastic windows if you don't cover them with masking tape. Also, i really like the "Advan" deco :)
Thats why he said that he recommends it to be drilled open
once i had accidently bruhsed just a tad bit of nail polish remover onto the window of my Mazda rx7 fc. *never again shall I make such a mistake*

Does it matter what color marker?
@@starkllr6664 Ive tested with green and black. No changes.
Wow!! Thanks you so much drifter, I like clean cars so it'll be a great help for me 🤩🤩
I assume it needs to be nail polish remover WITH acetone?
I have used nail polish and damaged the paint. On a newer car. I tried it out on a old corgi van the paint stayed on. But the new car paint came off with the detail.
but nail polish remover harms the paint (just removes the decals with the paint) what should i do for that
I think it depends on what car youre doing it on. If it's those exotic cars with alot of sharp edges and articulation you might wanna be careful and not press too hard
i wanted a plain supra and committed removal on the green supra and the paint came off with the tampos
Whiteboard liquid also works too!
Try not to touch the plastic windshield !!! Best if u can mask it! Or else ur plastic will fog and it cannot be undone
Thank yu for Tips I will remove some Design on my Nissan Fairlady and Wheel swap it :)
That’s pretty cool!
Well, I don't know if white paint is different, but it not only removed the tampos but the paint as well off my RX-7. 😢
Thank you for your comment. I was just about to test out this video on my white rx7. (Project u one right?)
How do i paint a car whithout any spray paint or airbrush? I need to know for my toyota ae86.
Also use expo marker and cloth/tissue. Works really well
Is there a certain trick to the expo method? I’ve tried it hasn’t worked as well as I had expect
only with older hotwheels since their paint rubs off easily

Yeah bro I tried this and accidentally got it on the windows and completely ruined them, only use on metal
Looks so much better all black!! 👍🏻
What if paint comes off?
I always and only wanted to remove 'police' decals on my hotwheels model
I’m 3 years late to the party, but does this work with Premium cars as well? The tampos on those are different
can u remove the paint ?
I used to do my 1/24 die cast. I'd find one I liked, but hated the graphics. I'd just buy it and remove them.
Is it applicable also on count muscula?
does it work on pull back toys too when they had tampo?
This gonna be work to tomica cars with tampo?
I tried it and it started peeling the paint
Do you know any solution for removing small part of your collection
Thank you so much, i didnt know it was that easy. I usually dont like videos alot but this is a one time acception.
Hey drifter D, I've wanted to ask a few things. Ive used Aceton on my die cast car but it leaves a mark of colour on the car. If anyone has a solution, please let me know.
it hurts cause i love that livery... but thank you!
Make avideo for modifying hot wheels, majorette, matchbox,or tomica
The New Matchbox 350z Had Awful Looking Tampos.
But should avoid plastic clear cause blur from nail polish
Is this working if the body is plastic ?
No, will harm the plastics.
I dont have a girlfriend,my mom and sister doesnt have nail polish remover so how am i gonna remove tempo now?
Then get a girlfriend *_dab_*
ur mom's a man
jk
*tf you said to me*
Does not work tried this technique and the expo.
0:14 omega lol
this really helped
very nice i can do a custom now
usually i use cajuput oil to remove the tampo
Sounds neat! What's that bro?
@@DrifterD Essence oil from m. leucadendra plant.
Just wipe that oil into the tampo.
Dry, erase markers work as well😊
By drifter I know am late but does rubbing alcohol work?
You can test it out on an unused hot wheels car... I dont think it works effectively
Thx but I used rubbing alcohol it still worked I have a Ferrari F50 and there where scratched up tempos so I just removed them and it worked
I was gonna be so sad if it didn’t work cause it would ruin my favorite Ferrari, but gladly it worked
Now I can erase the error on my car
I asked my sister for nail polish and she stared at me
But Great Tip Drifter
(The only tutorial that make sense)
🤣🤣🤣 Glad I helped!
Thx

I tried it on Pop cultures as well but I think Hot Whels applied a protective layer on the paintjob and decal of the cars to make them more durable
Use whiteboard marker
If you don’t have that hand sanitizers works tooo!
then what am i gonna do with it using hand sanitizer to remove tampos?
Now why would you want to do that
