    I see you used a black dry erase? Does color matter? Can any dry erase be used?.

      Hey Mike, great to see you my friend! 😁👍 You can pretty much use any color you like, I would just recommend not using the cheapo ones. Use Expo's or something of that nature. Sometimes the cheapo's can leave a pretty nasty residue left over that you'll have to try to clean off with acetone or alcohol. 😁👍👊

      You can put a little bit of acetone on a rag and lightly rub the dry Erase and residue off. Did you use an Expo marker?

    Use a Q-tip instead of a rag to wipe on the acetone. It's more precise. Remove some of the cotton if needed.

    Hey first time watching one of your videos. I just started collecting hot wheels a few months ago and I’m now trying to do some customs. What do you suggest for getting the tempo out of the door jam? I always ruin the paint.

    • @HonestDiecast
      @HonestDiecast  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Louie, congrats on your new found addiction! For tampos in the door jam, you can try the mini/pointy q-tips found at Hobby Lobby in the diecast/model aisle (with the Testors paints). Dab just a lil acetone on the very tip and swipe it a few times wiping it off immediately after and it should work. If you dont feel comfortable with that, you can use your caligraphy pen and draw your body lines in and that should work. Hope that helps! 👊😁👍

    Is it applicable to use acetone on my black count muscula? You know the car with no. 55 on the side? Just a kind friend asking

    • @HonestDiecast
      @HonestDiecast  ปีที่แล้ว

      Entity you should be ok but I might try on another car with similar paint first. You'd definitely want to use the acetone sparingly and dont let it pool or sit on the paint at all. 👊😁👍

    • @HonestDiecast
      @HonestDiecast  ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @HonestDiecast
      @HonestDiecast  ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely does! This writeup is mainly for mainline cars as most premiums have much better clear coat. Its most likely still possible, but will likely take much longer and could damage the clearcoat. 👊😫

    Hello! I was wondering what other type of alcohol can I use

    • @HonestDiecast
      @HonestDiecast  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey balamandro, in this video I use acetone. You may be able to try a dab of laquer thinner or even paint thinner but I'm not sure what the result will be. Acetone is pretty nasty as is but it evaporates quickly so its tougher for it to damage the paint when used sparingly. 😁👍

    I have a redline aqua beach bomb and it has some yellow paint on it. Can I use the acetone sparingly to remove the yellow paint without it removing the aqua paint underneath? Or should I try the dry eraser method first? My goal is to retain the aqua paint as best as possible.

    • @HonestDiecast
      @HonestDiecast  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gil, thats probably what I would advise. Give the dry erase marker a try first. I doubt that will work for paint though, you'll probably have to tey acetone. I would dab some on a Q-Tip and try removing that way then rub immediately off with a microfiber cloth. 👊😁👍

      Not if its a quick and light swipe. You definitely dont want to soak the rag or let it inundate on the car itself. Just a slightly dampened rag in a small spot directly on the tampos will do it! 😁👊
