good stuff. but you missed the struggle single handed putting LU back up. i was looking forward to seeing that solo. also may want to mention torque specs, some folks w/o experience may think tighter is better - not always the case! personal preference I use a paint pen dealer style. the dealer tech i copy their practice and mark hours/date on therm, water sep, water pump (outside of case) ,oil filter.thanks again!
Fabulous job. Well done. What would you do to decrease the engine noise by 6 Db as my Verado V8 300hp did not pass the noise test here in Switzerland and the Swiss dealer does not want to tell me his trick unless I pay him a fortune :( I was thinking to use special sound damping material from the automotive industry and put it under the top cover. But I read that most of the noise is from the low part… any clue or free space I could insert some noise damping material without altering ventilation?
Hey thanks! They should be in the description below. The paint was a factory failure from merc. They are actually replaced the lower units and spacers because of the failing paint
What size socket did you use for the spark plugs? I found that I’ll need a thin wall socket because mine are too think to fit inside the spark plug hole.
The belt removal tool is unnecessary. You also don’t need to unbolt anything other than the the alternator (what you called the motor). Once the 4 alternator bolts are off belt slips right off. Saves you $50 for that stupid useless piece of aluminum.
WRONG part #, this kit is for the non verado. obviously it overlaps, we watched you do it. but the correct part # for verados 2B529482 and up is 8M0149932
Thanks for watching yall! If youre looking for a 100 hour full totorial check out my other video here! th-cam.com/video/QZ-gVYGRGnY/w-d-xo.html
You are a brave man to do that over the water. Great job, also love your house.
It definitely wasn’t easy! lol appreciate it though

Ya the struggle was real esp doing it on a floating dock lol all in good effort tho
Can you post a video on resetting the maintenance hrs on the gauges?
For sure!
Fabulous job. Well done.

Thank you very much. Are you running in sport mode? If so that will create a higher decibel
@@liquidambition nope in stealth mode…
Those verados are fairly quiet already
You should contact Mercury about that flaking paint on your lower units; mine were the same and they replaced all 3 under warranty
Ya I actually did the same! Took a few month get them but Mercury replaced both which was awesome! Thanks for the advice! Appreciate it
Dear Mark , Do you have contact details , email etc?
The local merc service center submits the claim. You have to take it in
is it possible to change the engine oil through the dipstick with a pump like the previous verados?
Yes it is with a pump
So what are your overall thoughts on the V8 now that you have had them a while?
They are solid engines. I have had a good amount of warranty work needed to be done though. It may be the 19s since it was the first year released
What’s the trick for reinstalling the lower unit and getting the shift linkage to line up? Does it just align on its own? Nothing to do?
Yes it does. It should just slide right back in.
Bluewater great video. Do you have the part numbers for the two tools? Why is the paint coming off your motors? They look fairly new.
Hey thanks! They should be in the description below. The paint was a factory failure from merc. They are actually replaced the lower units and spacers because of the failing paint
@@liquidambition Thanks so much!. I have the same paint issues including the brackets that mount on the transom.
Yes same. If under warranty take it to a dealer they should replace. I’ve been waiting months but they are on order

What year Verado is this?
2019
Did you use anti seize on all the bolts for the thermostat, and alternator belt?
I spray down everything before install typically yes

Can do it either way. Thanks for the note
i should have read this first dam
Do you still need the belt tightener tool? Thanks for adding this, saved me $50
I wouldn’t buy an engine he worked on
lol you’re lost

I don't understand but I hope this helped!
