  • This is a quick unboxing and review of the Ryobi 12" 2300 PSI Electric Pressure Washer Surface Cleaner. It's a simple device that makes power washing large areas like patios, deck or sidewalks much quicker by using two rotating nozzles to clean the dirt off the area instead of just moving one small nozzle over the same area.

    The Ryobi surface cleaner has a plastic housing but metal parts and nozzle, giving it a durable feel. It's an affordable power washer accessory that's designed for electric pressure washers up to 2300 PSI. Ryobi does make a higher end ( and larger) surface cleaner designed for gas power washers as well.
    Overall, the power washer surface cleaner does a good job of spraying the dirt off large areas. It allowed me to quickly clean my concrete patio and sidewalks, though it doesn't "push" the dirty water off these surfaces so sometimes I had to go back over the area with a hose or power washer wit ha nozzle to blast the dirty water into the grass.

    Just bought the same combo. I will be looking for a longer lance to save my back, but Ryobi uses standard size fittings and will take any brand of hose, lance, gun etc.. Good to see a movie made by someone that understands that the surface cleaner is not a sweeping brush, despite the hairy edge. Your "two hours later" issue is the same on any and all power washers and not a problem.

    I just cleaned the aggregate around my pool thst hasn’t been cleaned in 20+ years using the Ryobi Surface Cleaner. It looks amazing. I Used the model made to handle my 3200 psi at 2.4 gal min gas pressure washer.

    Wow, what a difference. I've been looking at pressure washers also and pretty well decided on that same *RYOBI 2300 1.2* machine, it looks like a good one. I also wondered if that Surface Cleaner was worth buying, you sure have answered that question for me! It looks like a MUST HAVE accessory! What do you think of the Ryobi washer itself? ... Thanks for the review! :)

    I looked at dozens of surface cleaners on Amazon, etc. and it became clear to me that the device needs to be sized to match your pressure washer. Also, I read where the fitting on the Ryobi fits my Sun Joe electric. So, I have one on the way. After seeing your video just now, it looks like I made the right choice..

    I notice most guys on TH-cam use the surface cleaner first. Then always come behind it with a regular 45 degree sprayer on the pressure washer to get water and dirt that pool up. So it may just be a normal thing.

    Thanks for posting this. Were you using the Ryobi 2300 pressure washer with this? Regarding the pools of dirty water, just my 2c... I would probably just let it dry and then use a leaf blower to blow any remaining loose dirt away (I'm guessing a leaf blower would get rid of all that surface dirt in just seconds without using more water). Heck, a strong leaf blower might be able to blow all the water and dirt away without waiting for it to dry. Will probably pick one of these surface cleaners up at big orange later this week. I'm a tall guy so I might pick up a quick-connect extension wand from Amazon so I don't have to stoop over.

    After using a new 12" Ryobi surface cleaner with a new 2000 PSI Ryobi electric power washer for 4 hours on my relatively new driveway the cleaner was no longer cleaning but just leaving spiral markings. I tried to lift it and let it run to clear out the nozzles without success. I would advise folks to not use the cleaner on the edges of the driveway where it may kick up dirt which might clog these apparently very sensitive nozzles. I decided to order another product and returned the Ryobi. I do not wish to have to disassemble this product every few hours to clean out the nozzles. Mine did not work just hovering above the surface. I used a driveway cleaning soap prior to using the rotary cleaner and when it worked it was fine. It did leave a lot of dirty water which required pretty significant rising. When it didn't work it went back

    i would not recommend using the surface cleaners for any wood decks because the space between the boards cause the surface cleaners to scrape the boards into splinters, so i prefer using the nozzles for the decks and the surface claners for the driveways, but i hope that it cuts my driveway cleaning in half depending on the length of them!

      @@HomeImprovementVideos What size pressure washer

  • @yjxu66
    @yjxu66 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    What does the rated 2300 psi mean? Does it mean the running water pressure? The running pressure might be only 1200 psi. The cleaner never sees the pressure behind the trigger - behind the trigger, the pressure can get to the washer pressure 2300 psi.

    • @HomeImprovementVideos
      @HomeImprovementVideos  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Power washers "squirt" out water at different pressures. PSI means "pounds per square inch" in this case. It's just a way of measuring how strong the water stream is. It also means this washer head can only handle power washers that push water out at 2300 PSI or lower (smaller number). A higher PSI (like from a professional power washer) might actually break the couplings, the seals or the mechanical pieces of the surface cleaner. The 2300 PSI limit is fine for most small residential electric power washers.

      I'm just using the Ryobi standard connectors. Didn't buy anything special. Looks like it's a 1/4 inch "quick connector" and it should work with most other consumer grade pressure washers...
