To add to my point on how more "Laid back and restrained" the comics are (especially in the short stories and one offs) a lot of the time the entity or paranormal phenomenon is defeated by someone else doing something to vanquish the threat while Hellboy's on defense. Hellboy is the main character but his comrades in the BPRD and people who join him in whatever mess he happens to walk into (like The Crooked Man for instance) are just as important to the point THEY just as often save the day.
Finally, someone who isn't bitching cuz its not rons version or some high budget comic book movie when if you actually read hellboy comics it does get that horror and darker not just gritty and action all the time.

Considering del Toro was unwilling to work with the budget offered for a third film (like, I love him but why does he feel entitled to lose money for a studio, the first two movies only did okay financially vs their budget) who tf cares? And movies do kinda need a higher budget than this when they are dealing with such fantastical creatures as Hellboy, are meant to be taken seriously AND expect you to pay to watch them. I'm a fan of Mignolas work and I'm happy that he finally gets to be an integral part of a movie based on his creations. But I also can't really blame alot of the negative reactions to this trailer.

I love the Del Toro films but it's such a shame that they're the only Hellboy media anyone knows about and treats as gospel when in actuality they were really inaccurate to the source material
Some liberties were taken, but works within the film's respective universe. They went more close to the comics with the Animated features though. In Sword of Storms they animated Panel For Panel one of my other favorite Hellboy short stories "Heads".
Whole heartedly agree with this take. Despite the low budget, this looks like a the right kind of story to reinvigorate the franchise. Something self contained and intimate, none of this “High Stakes”, “end of the of the world”, and finally some horror elements. I truly hope the final product is good.
To be honest, Hellboy seems more intelligent like he’s supposed to be in the comics. Reading the comics right now, Hellboy is very fucking smart and does a lot of research. None of the live action this far really did that for his character
Look, I want the Ron Perlman Hell boy movies to come back too but I feel like people are being a bit too unfair with this movie. I know it looks low budget, but then again it takes place in the middle of a forest in the middle nowhere Which is what exactly happened in the comic this is based on. Perhaps this movie doesn’t need to be high budget.
All I can say is this has someone that really enjoyed the previous three films the animated movies video games and comic books of Hellboy I really want this movie to succeed simply to show the world that Hellboy does have promise and he can succeed

DREDD was so damn unfortunate. A great movie cursed by an inopportune release. People kept comparing it to The Raid which was SO DUMB because Dredd started production first.

But Dredd was outstanding. This will be as well. You and I both know this. Btw, if you want a good Appalachian tale, read a book called Dalton Hollow. It would definitely make a good movie or two. But definitely needs a follow-up.
I’m thankful we even got this Hellboy film since the last flopped. Even though I haven’t read the comics personally. I plan too someday. I’m really excited for this Hellboy movie. It seems like a self contained adventure rather than something that’s world ending. And like you said even if it’s not the best I’m sure I’ll enjoy it too. I do wonder why his eyes aren’t yellow.

They changed direction and its a shorter story for a short story like the crooked man thry don’t really need a big budget since that run was based on a mix of psychological suspense and action in the comics
Personally I like the idea of a lower budget Hellboy. Keeping it focused on story and mystery to make it akin to a pulp noir flick fits the character like glove 🤘
I've always thought a Hellboy film shouldn't be as grand as the previous ones, but I kinda wished for stronger style and cinematography. I mean, Mignola's strength is his visuals as simple as they often are. Also give our boy some color. 😈🍅 But I'm quite stoked nonetheless.
Rober Rodriquez Sin City perfectly captures Frank Milelrs style and inking with CG cinematography. They need to make a Hellboy movie that properly adapts Mike Mignola’s style and inking with CG cinematography. Inking is a huge reason why Mike Mignola’s art stands out.
I think a lot of people haven't actually read many or any Hellboy story and think he's always saving the world from some giant monster world-ending threat when actually many of his stories are just him dealing with a demon or a ghost or a vampire - A small local threat in the area. Think Karl Urban's Dredd - that movie was all just another day. A bit crazy, sure, but no major stakes. So this totally fits the comics. Will it be good? We'll see.
This trailer screamed Dredd to me. Taking it back to a small story that fits the lower budget, and building back up on that. Perlman was Del Toro's Hellboy but this feels like Mignola's Hellboy.
@AnimeBronx I don't think anyone wants to commit the big bucks to Hellboy after the last film, but sometimes a tight, lean budget will force the film makers to make every penny count. Just look at Godzilla Minus One. Bigger budgets tend to lead to lazier film making and big explosive endings rather than a satisfying conclusion.
It's refreshing to hear someone who actually knowks the source material, and who's not crying because it's not Perlman/Del Toro. Even if I would've preferred to see him w yellow eyes, I'm clearly HYPED by this movie, we deserved a folk horror movie that respect the comic books tone. 🔥
I 100% agree. People are looking at this the wrong way. This is truer to what Hellboy is than ANY of the adaptations we've had previously... and I love the first two films.
I wholeheartedly believe that this Hellboy has the potential to be the most comic book accurate live action rendition we have of the titular character. It follows the crooked Man storyline very closely. As you can tell by Cora the shovel that they bless the crooked Man and Hellboy getting covered with insects. They're practically images ripped right out of the comic book.
Yep even in the starting section set in the present day of the comic storyline Hellboy mentions that this was his first major case as lead field agent teaching a rookie probationary agent in Bobbie who is on her very first field assignment. He even quips during this starting section that most people won't believe that a 10-year old is acting as the lead field agent on assignment for a federal investigation agency but he's not like most 10 year olds.
I really think people wouldn't hate this so much if the color grading wasn't awful. I dont think every horror movie has to be blue and impossible to see lol.
Look, if they stick to the comic story, this could be a masterpiece. Personally, this is exactly what we needed. Low budget, horror mystery Hellboy story.
This movie looks great. I like Hellboy 1&2 (the only Hellboy live action films ever made...), but I've been waiting to see the comics come to life. A small scale horror in a haunted house, or a search to find a missing child in the woods, or... the Crooked Man! That will do nicely, thank you!

I don’t blame anyone who thinks the new makeup and product of Hellboy looks off or not what they imagined, but in the comic for the Crooked man, hellboy is drawn close to how the actor actually looks with the product and makeup on him. Not saying it’s a good design, but it appears more to the character from the page
Tbh, this feels like the first Hellboy movie in a way. It is a solo Hellboy movie, all other feel like a BPRD movies, except 2019 which is just a mess trying to do everything in one movie
Right? It's odd. I think it's how the others were more like other comic books movies while this one is going for a more subtle horror esthetic. People just weren't expecting it is all I think.
They are still stuck with Del Toro and Perlman. I mean I love the two movies as well and hate it never got a last one but I think a lot simply didn't move on or want to accept that you can still make Hellboy without them.

As a reader of the graphic novels I tried to tell everybody that seen this trailer that it's more Canon than they think I remember watching the original Hellboy thinking damn this is action-packed but nothing like the original Hellboy the trailer looks kind of cheesy but I'm here for it
Hellboy is a horror comic series. As much as i like some of the older movies, they didn't really represent the comic. This seems more like the dark horror of Hellboy.

I actually love how slim Hellboy looks, he fights like a brute but it looks like his shoulders are slumped and with him being slimmer it looks like his life is taking a huge toll on him, which is such a big part of his charecter, I’m really glad he isn’t a big muscle head
What general audiences (who never read the comics) don't get (or know) is the Ron movies were Del Toro's fanfaction, I'm okay with checking this new one out. After all, it takes place in Appalachia and I'm in West Virginia. 😊
Tapping into that horror aspect actually has me hooked and kinda excited for the movie. I’m hoping they can make some profit off of it and make more higher quality Hellboy movies that explore some of the hellboy universe. Im gonna be honest I just need more Hellboy, I haven’t read the comics yet but plan on getting the omnibus soon but a animated series of Hellboy would be perfection, there’s so much to explore and they could just directly adapt the story since nobody really knows much about him or have read the comics. Adding some action scenes here and there would not be a bad thing but keeping that story and feeling while in animated form would be beautiful
It’s not about it being tonally dark and lore accurate compared to the Del Toro films, it’s that it looks grey, dingy, and cheap compared to the vibrancy of Del Toro’s Hellboy films, they had good direction and cinematography. I’ll be the first to admit despite Del Toro having a low budget for a studio film he still presumably had a much, much bigger budget than this, but that aside there are plenty of other low budget movies out there that are well shot and beautifully color graded. Not every indie horror movie has to look hazy and grey and brown and poorly lit, like some 2000’s video game, that’s not scary it’s just bad filmmaking. There is a difference between chiaroscuro and bad lighting and sadly this is the latter. It has that typical, cheap, “shot on digital without any LUTs” look, which is a sin of many a modern horror. Hell I’d even be willing to over look the bad makeup if it was shot better and had actual color and proper use of shadow. Listen I’ll always be a Hellboy fan, and I’m still gonna watch it when it comes out, and I hope I’ll be pleasantly surprised and that Mignola’s writing can save the film (fixing the non-yellow eyes in post would go a long way to ingratiate fans like me as well), but I’m not going to be some internet sycophant desperate for his favorite IP to just get another incarnation whether or not it’s good, just because I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from the last one (sorry David Harbour), so I won’t hold my breath. In a perfect world Del Toro would get to finish his trilogy and I’d be happy, but sadly we’re long past that now it seems, but it still doesn’t mean the property has to fall to the wayside of an inferior reboot casting doubt in the eyes studio executives, thereby making every further incarnation a straight to DVD b-movie, Hellboy deserves more than the death of VOD, but what the fuck do I know. 🤷🏻♂️
I'm super excited for this movie. I've been playing Web of Wyrd and collected a handful of comics of my own. The crooked man story is soo perfect for the big screen and this hellboy and style of hellboy deserves the big screen. Honestly a big refresher from what we get in theaters lately

Honestly I got so excited when I saw the trailer. Had NO idea this coming. Looks like a legit horror Hellboy movie and also one of if not the best Hellboy stories. Hellboy isn't a world saving superhero.
I was kinda shocked so many people were shitting on the trailer, I was blown away. This is the kinda Hellboy movie i've wanted since reading the comics.
For anyone still going after this trophy and using this method to save some time on some of the challenges, know that if you have a PS5, it might be easier. PS5 fast load times means you do get a bit extra time overall as these count, also this technique is very reliant on the precision of the Left stick being pushed straight up. That said, the PS4 controller deadzone is different from the PS5, and does make this more challenging to b pull off. You can reassign button placement too, so if you feel like L2 makes it hard to manage the left stick of if circle and triangle is a bit clumsy to switch back and forth, you can make it way easier for yourself.
For me, its not that this doesent havent anything to do with ron perlman or Guillermo del toro, its the fact that it looks cheap and lazy, which is a huge discredit to the source material. If the trailer is suppose to shippets of the best parts of the film, this should be incredibly alarming to anyone who has hopes of this being good. This film seriously looks like a january horror dump that studios put out as a tax write off. Cant wait to see everyone so disappointed trying to justify why this film supposedly missed the msrk after its release.
I'm hyped for this film simply because I'm a fan of the comics and it looks like this is going to be a proper adaption of The Crooked Man short story from the comics, and it actually has the horror/mystery/thriller vibes the comics are known for, and we actually get to see Hellboy use his impressive intellect, and knowledge concerning the paranormal and occult and actually do investigating as he is the world's greatest paranormal investigator.

I've never read Hellboy. Knew the character, but never read. I saw this trailer and immediately understood the tone and I'm all in for it. I've been hoping to see a horror movie with a comic background.
I’ve always loved Hellboy and I’m excited for this movie. More horror-esque than the movies that came before, but hopefully a bit more in-line with the comics. I hope this movie shows his “occult detective” side more. While the budget doesn’t look that high, I hope the effects are don’t well enough that it won’t break my suspension of disbelief.
I just wish they made Hellboy (Jack Kesy) look otherworldly. He looks too human. But, if his acting and faithful adaptation of the story can save it, then I’m all in.

As a fan of the del toro movies, it would’ve been nice to get hellboy 3 but that’s never going to happen now imo. And the 2019 version was just….bad. So seeing this trailer I wasn’t sure at first, but I went back and read the comic (also listened to the dub that can be found on yt, be sure to check that out if you haven’t) and realised that this is the most accurate we’ve had for the hellboy franchise. And that’s good. 👍🏻 Yeah people can say it’s cheap looking and “his eyes aren’t yellow” argument, but hellboy was never a big deal like marvel and dc. So the budget makes sense and you can do a low budget horror movie well, and I hope this will 😊.

Après l'annonce soudaine, franchement, j'ai été surpris quand j'ai fini de regarder J'étais choqué et un peu inquiet. Je me sentais frustré, pas du tout haineux envers le film. Il y avait en moi une part d'admiration pour la nouvelle approche, mais cette admiration n'est apparue que juste après avoir lu la bande dessinée originale. Oh mon Dieu, quel Une expérience unique et mystérieuse qui était indescriptible pour cette bande dessinée qui se distingue par son histoire populaire simple, ses personnages merveilleux et sa belle ambiance vintage. Alors maintenant, je suis excité à l’idée de cette nouvelle expérience pour ce garçon de l’enfer. Il n’y a aucun mal à faire des films. Avec une histoire fermée de temps en temps, sans revenir à la trilogie et à l'action bouleversante, c'est finalement l'histoire d'un garçon de l'Enfer, un enquêteur dans une aventure loin des villes bondées d'une époque antiqe😊❤

The Hellboy comic fans and horror fans are very happy with this. It's the movie fans that have issue, they thought Del Toro's forced, uneeded love story was cannon. Personaly i didnt like the direction that was going, and the 2019 Hellboy was infinitely better than his vision. But this is exactly what i wanted, a one shot with Hellboy inserted into a horror story...Plus it's written by Mignola.
I love crank, crank 2, and liked gamer, so if one of the directors is doing this, it adds to my excitement. I wanted a hellboy that was more into the horror and eeriness.

While I adore Guillermo Del Toros Hellboy universe, I am familiar with the source material. It is much more folkloric and horror based in places than fantastical. The personal crisis that Hellboy faces is missing from the studio movies as well. Will it end in evil, for which he was destined? Will he stay on the path fostered by his upbringing? I guess that kind of arc would not play well for major audiences.
I love the idea of people complaining that Hellboy, an indie-darling niche horror comic, shouldn’t be on a shoestring budget. The series as a whole is practically built on low-budget, pulpy horror. Give me ‘Evil Dead’ Hellboy over ‘World War Z’ Hellboy 10 times out of 10. Also high budget horror is so often very bad.

I’m thankful we even got this Hellboy film since the last flopped. Even though I haven’t read the comics personally. I plan too someday. I’m really excited for this Hellboy movie. It seems like a self contained adventure rather than something that’s world ending. And like you said even if it’s not the best I’m sure I’ll enjoy it too. I do wonder why his eyes aren’t yellow.
Hellboy has MANY self contained adventures in the comics. So many they had to fill TWO omnibuses to contain them all.

There is something called budget. Special effects/characterization is expensive. Not every movie can afford it all.

Personally I like the idea of a lower budget Hellboy. Keeping it focused on story and mystery to make it akin to a pulp noir flick fits the character like glove 🤘
I've always thought a Hellboy film shouldn't be as grand as the previous ones, but I kinda wished for stronger style and cinematography. I mean, Mignola's strength is his visuals as simple as they often are. Also give our boy some color. 😈🍅

Rober Rodriquez Sin City perfectly captures Frank Milelrs style and inking with CG cinematography. They need to make a Hellboy movie that properly adapts Mike Mignola’s style and inking with CG cinematography. Inking is a huge reason why Mike Mignola’s art stands out.

I think a lot of people haven't actually read many or any Hellboy story and think he's always saving the world from some giant monster world-ending threat when actually many of his stories are just him dealing with a demon or a ghost or a vampire - A small local threat in the area. Think Karl Urban's Dredd - that movie was all just another day. A bit crazy, sure, but no major stakes.
So this totally fits the comics. Will it be good? We'll see.
This trailer screamed Dredd to me. Taking it back to a small story that fits the lower budget, and building back up on that. Perlman was Del Toro's Hellboy but this feels like Mignola's Hellboy.

This is cheap because you have a bunch of people that nobody believes in making a movie with a tiny studio. Not the same thing.
@AnimeBronx I don't think anyone wants to commit the big bucks to Hellboy after the last film, but sometimes a tight, lean budget will force the film makers to make every penny count. Just look at Godzilla Minus One. Bigger budgets tend to lead to lazier film making and big explosive endings rather than a satisfying conclusion.
It's just strange for me that Hellboy wears pants and doesn't have yellow eyes, but Mignola is behind this film, you'll know what he means by that
It's refreshing to hear someone who actually knowks the source material, and who's not crying because it's not Perlman/Del Toro. Even if I would've preferred to see him w yellow eyes, I'm clearly HYPED by this movie, we deserved a folk horror movie that respect the comic books tone. 🔥
I 100% agree. People are looking at this the wrong way. This is truer to what Hellboy is than ANY of the adaptations we've had previously... and I love the first two films.
I wholeheartedly believe that this Hellboy has the potential to be the most comic book accurate live action rendition we have of the titular character. It follows the crooked Man storyline very closely. As you can tell by Cora the shovel that they bless the crooked Man and Hellboy getting covered with insects. They're practically images ripped right out of the comic book.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man is the optimum Hellboy story for a low budget horror/thriller.
That could be said for many of Hellboy's stories though.
You commented on how he is slimmer than previous versions, but I chalk that up to him being a teenager in this particular adaptation.
Yep even in the starting section set in the present day of the comic storyline Hellboy mentions that this was his first major case as lead field agent teaching a rookie probationary agent in Bobbie who is on her very first field assignment. He even quips during this starting section that most people won't believe that a 10-year old is acting as the lead field agent on assignment for a federal investigation agency but he's not like most 10 year olds.
I really think people wouldn't hate this so much if the color grading wasn't awful.

I don’t blame anyone who thinks the new makeup and product of Hellboy looks off or not what they imagined, but in the comic for the Crooked man, hellboy is drawn close to how the actor actually looks with the product and makeup on him. Not saying it’s a good design, but it appears more to the character from the page
Tbh, this feels like the first Hellboy movie in a way. It is a solo Hellboy movie, all other feel like a BPRD movies, except 2019 which is just a mess trying to do everything in one movie
If they like gave him a prosthetic chin and brows, maybe used a glowing yellow effect on the eyes, id be set id be like "yeah this is the best one"

They are still stuck with Del Toro and Perlman. I mean I love the two movies as well and hate it never got a last one but I think a lot simply didn't move on or want to accept that you can still make Hellboy without them.

As a reader of the graphic novels I tried to tell everybody that seen this trailer that it's more Canon than they think I remember watching the original Hellboy thinking damn this is action-packed but nothing like the original Hellboy the trailer looks kind of cheesy but I'm here for it

Hellboy is a horror comic series. As much as i like some of the older movies, they didn't really represent the comic. This seems more like the dark horror of Hellboy.

I actually love how slim Hellboy looks, he fights like a brute but it looks like his shoulders are slumped and with him being slimmer it looks like his life is taking a huge toll on him, which is such a big part of his charecter, I’m really glad he isn’t a big muscle head
What general audiences (who never read the comics) don't get (or know) is the Ron movies were Del Toro's fanfaction, I'm okay with checking this new one out. After all, it takes place in Appalachia and I'm in West Virginia. 😊

Tapping into that horror aspect actually has me hooked and kinda excited for the movie. I’m hoping they can make some profit off of it and make more higher quality Hellboy movies that explore some of the hellboy universe. Im gonna be honest I just need more Hellboy, I haven’t read the comics yet but plan on getting the omnibus soon but a animated series of Hellboy would be perfection, there’s so much to explore and they could just directly adapt the story since nobody really knows much about him or have read the comics. Adding some action scenes here and there would not be a bad thing but keeping that story and feeling while in animated form would be beautiful
It’s not about it being tonally dark and lore accurate compared to the Del Toro films, it’s that it looks grey, dingy, and cheap compared to the vibrancy of Del Toro’s Hellboy films, they had good direction and cinematography. I’ll be the first to admit despite Del Toro having a low budget for a studio film he still presumably had a much, much bigger budget than this, but that aside there are plenty of other low budget movies out there that are well shot and beautifully color graded. Not every indie horror movie has to look hazy and grey and brown and poorly lit, like some 2000’s video game, that’s not scary it’s just bad filmmaking. There is a difference between chiaroscuro and bad lighting and sadly this is the latter. It has that typical, cheap, “shot on digital without any LUTs” look, which is a sin of many a modern horror. Hell I’d even be willing to over look the bad makeup if it was shot better and had actual color and proper use of shadow. Listen I’ll always be a Hellboy fan, and I’m still gonna watch it when it comes out, and I hope I’ll be pleasantly surprised and that Mignola’s writing can save the film (fixing the non-yellow eyes in post would go a long way to ingratiate fans like me as well), but I’m not going to be some internet sycophant desperate for his favorite IP to just get another incarnation whether or not it’s good, just because I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from the last one (sorry David Harbour), so I won’t hold my breath. In a perfect world Del Toro would get to finish his trilogy and I’d be happy, but sadly we’re long past that now it seems, but it still doesn’t mean the property has to fall to the wayside of an inferior reboot casting doubt in the eyes studio executives, thereby making every further incarnation a straight to DVD b-movie, Hellboy deserves more than the death of VOD, but what the fuck do I know. 🤷🏻♂️
I'm super excited for this movie. I've been playing Web of Wyrd and collected a handful of comics of my own. The crooked man story is soo perfect for the big screen and this hellboy and style of hellboy deserves the big screen. Honestly a big refresher from what we get in theaters lately
Especially with the boom in Folk Horror in current years, there is definitely an audience for this story, me included!

For anyone still going after this trophy and using this method to save some time on some of the challenges, know that if you have a PS5, it might be easier.
PS5 fast load times means you do get a bit extra time overall as these count, also this technique is very reliant on the precision of the Left stick being pushed straight up. That said, the PS4 controller deadzone is different from the PS5, and does make this more challenging to b pull off. You can reassign button placement too, so if you feel like L2 makes it hard to manage the left stick of if circle and triangle is a bit clumsy to switch back and forth, you can make it way easier for yourself.

For me, its not that this doesent havent anything to do with ron perlman or Guillermo del toro, its the fact that it looks cheap and lazy, which is a huge discredit to the source material. If the trailer is suppose to shippets of the best parts of the film, this should be incredibly alarming to anyone who has hopes of this being good. This film seriously looks like a january horror dump that studios put out as a tax write off. Cant wait to see everyone so disappointed trying to justify why this film supposedly missed the msrk after its release.

I'm hyped for this film simply because I'm a fan of the comics and it looks like this is going to be a proper adaption of The Crooked Man short story from the comics, and it actually has the horror/mystery/thriller vibes the comics are known for, and we actually get to see Hellboy use his impressive intellect, and knowledge concerning the paranormal and occult and actually do investigating as he is the world's greatest paranormal investigator.

I've never read Hellboy. Knew the character, but never read. I saw this trailer and immediately understood the tone and I'm all in for it. I've been hoping to see a horror movie with a comic background.
I’ve always loved Hellboy and I’m excited for this movie. More horror-esque than the movies that came before, but hopefully a bit more in-line with the comics. I hope this movie shows his “occult detective” side more. While the budget doesn’t look that high, I hope the effects are don’t well enough that it won’t break my suspension of disbelief.
I don’t care if it’s low budget and not Ron Perlman because from what I am seeing it seems to be a very faithful adaptation of the crooked man comic.

As a fan of the del toro movies, it would’ve been nice to get hellboy 3 but that’s never going to happen now imo. And the 2019 version was just….bad. So seeing this trailer I wasn’t sure at first, but I went back and read the comic (also listened to the dub that can be found on yt, be sure to check that out if you haven’t) and realised that this is the most accurate we’ve had for the hellboy franchise. And that’s good. 👍🏻
Yeah people can say it’s cheap looking and “his eyes aren’t yellow” argument, but hellboy was never a big deal like marvel and dc. So the budget makes sense and you can do a low budget horror movie well, and I hope this will 😊.

I am actually extremely excited for this one. Happy was a GREAT show and had some truly dark parts in it, and I hope the director can bring some of that darkness into this one. Hope I can see it in the cinema as they will definitely get my money
Après l'annonce soudaine, franchement, j'ai été surpris quand j'ai fini de regarder J'étais choqué et un peu inquiet. Je me sentais frustré, pas du tout haineux envers le film. Il y avait en moi une part d'admiration pour la nouvelle approche, mais cette admiration n'est apparue que juste après avoir lu la bande dessinée originale. Oh mon Dieu, quel Une expérience unique et mystérieuse qui était indescriptible pour cette bande dessinée qui se distingue par son histoire populaire simple, ses personnages merveilleux et sa belle ambiance vintage. Alors maintenant, je suis excité à l’idée de cette nouvelle expérience pour ce garçon de l’enfer. Il n’y a aucun mal à faire des films. Avec une histoire fermée de temps en temps, sans revenir à la trilogie et à l'action bouleversante, c'est finalement l'histoire d'un garçon de l'Enfer, un enquêteur dans une aventure loin des villes bondées d'une époque antiqe😊❤

The Hellboy comic fans and horror fans are very happy with this. It's the movie fans that have issue, they thought Del Toro's forced, uneeded love story was cannon. Personaly i didnt like the direction that was going, and the 2019 Hellboy was infinitely better than his vision. But this is exactly what i wanted, a one shot with Hellboy inserted into a horror story...Plus it's written by Mignola.

I love crank, crank 2, and liked gamer, so if one of the directors is doing this, it adds to my excitement. I wanted a hellboy that was more into the horror and eeriness.

While I adore Guillermo Del Toros Hellboy universe, I am familiar with the source material. It is much more folkloric and horror based in places than fantastical. The personal crisis that Hellboy faces is missing from the studio movies as well. Will it end in evil, for which he was destined? Will he stay on the path fostered by his upbringing? I guess that kind of arc would not play well for major audiences.
I love the idea of people complaining that Hellboy, an indie-darling niche horror comic, shouldn’t be on a shoestring budget. The series as a whole is practically built on low-budget, pulpy horror. Give me ‘Evil Dead’ Hellboy over ‘World War Z’ Hellboy 10 times out of 10.
