Itd very frustrating as someone who doesnt know anything about computers when your computer just gives out and seeing as pcs arent cheap it makes you feel a bit cheated, all you wanna do is play video games and relax and not have to worry about sending it to a shop for days to be updated and/or fixed, tho it gets easier to deal with once you take the time to learn and understand the machine and get comfortable around it

@@elijahstinnett2429 what gets me is people entitlement. It doesn't matter if you purchased a $500 PC or $5,000 PC. At the end of the day you don't know squat about how any of it works and you're in no position to be making demands of anybody. I look at it the same way I look at vehicle repair. If after you've been driving a vehicle for 100,000 miles your transmission goes out, you don't see anybody screaming at the manufacturer like they had something to do with it. Even if you only had driven it for 30,000, you're still going to contact the dealer, and the dealer is going to contact the manufacturer for a replacement under warranty. It's a process that most definitely isn't instant. And the dealership would handle at the same way this gentleman did, provide you with a loaner that will hold you over until the process is complete. Theres nothing to feel cheated about. Just entitlement.

Tbh in the pre-built industry one of the big reasons why so many companies fail, is because the lack of returning customers. Most buy their pc and then they're done, usually they'll upgrade themselves or take it to a local shop, the next pc they might have a crack at building themselves.
The big incentive to satisfy customers in the pre-built market isn't to get them to come back, it's to get them to spread the word that you're a good company so others will use you.

Just a friendly heads up you shouldn't put the motherboard on top of the antistatic bag. The bag works by discharging and static build up through the conductive layer on the outside of the bag, keeping the inside save. Cardboard is pretty anti static so you can just put it on the box or if you want to be extra safe you can use the antistatic just turn it inside out first.

The whole story of New world still makes me chuckle sometimes. While sure, there should have been something in place for the game's menu to not just max up FPS. That was a huge fault on Nvidia's part for not having some kind of Limiter, cap, Failsafe etc to stop the cards from working so hard they'd literally destroy themselves

2 of my EVGA 3080 fans just broke after Diablo 4 (which some people's 3080s/TI's were completely frying in the game for some unknown reason during cutscenes) and I get the guys frustration.
Having anything break on you that you had no control over and are forced to be out of a card for a week or 2 (or 3) is annoying as hell...but at least you gave him a loaner which definitely is great customer service.

For anyone that is still talking about games breaking cards, it has been confirmed by the manufacturers that it was a hardware issue. And it just happened with Diablo4 beta and gigabyte cards again. Games cannot break your system. PERIOD. The cards needs to have a defect in the first place to brick with what is basically a stresstest.

As someone who’s frustration comes at times it seems the person thinks it’s directed at them when it’s not. This person might’ve been upset that THEY sent you a faulty one, and then you put it in. It’s not your fault, he could be upset at them for wasting his (and your time) installing it, just to have to get a new one. One that stops him from playing the game he got it for

All I'd say is get higher frequency ram e.g. 3200mhz to 3600mhz as ryzen loves fast memory but only if you have the leftover budget as its only a small difference.

I just want to say good job, I had issues with my first bought GPU ever - 3070 from ASUS, the first one was a horror story (1 year) I had to travel to the PC store and bring the PC, because where I live it is around 200 km from my city (where I live I don't trust sending such expensive items). Had to travel more than 6 or 7 times and every time they were returning the PC saying it works with them while at home I was getting artifacts, driver crashes, no forum or online assistance helped, the card was even sent to an official repair store of Asus, they returned it a month later and didn't work again :). After 1 year of frustration, I just paid extra so they can sell me a new one (that happened whenever the 30 series came out and the prices started going up)

  • @ivoryowl

I feel bad for both parties in these situations.
I understand the frustration of your PC breaking down on you, as components can be quite expensive and repairs can take time (even worse when warranty has expired), but sometimes it's nobody's fault. Hardware can come out of the factory with issues that only trigger under certain conditions you were simply unlucky to end up with such an example.
Besides, a reputable store has no interest in selling broken components because it hurts their image, and I'm pretty sure people who make a living selling and repairing PCs can empathize with these situations. Plus the stress of thinking they might have done something wrong, when it wasn't actually their fault.
The important thing is to remain calm and avoid pointing fingers without concrete proof.
