I saw Judas Priest in the late '70s at a small club. must have been their first time in America. they had brand new Marshall stacks, and ridiculous arena rock outfits - but it was a small stage at a small club with (maybe) about 200 people. I had heard their first album and thought they'd be worth seeing. But they were one of the worst bands I've ever heard (almost as bad as Ted Nugent). The local band opening act was much better. They were just plain terrible. And it was all the more hilarious because of the outfits and phony arena posturing in a small club. it was awful. we got up and left after about 4 songs, they were so bad.

I was 16 in 1984 and let me say for the record no other time in music history has been more fun. So many epic bands were in their primes. Priest, Maiden, Ozzy, Crue, Ratt, and so many others that I can't even begin to list. Yes, each decade had it's thing. But it all came together during the 80's.

Loving these two especially Nick's genuine laugh (laughter?). Just 2 guys who likes guitar.
And the video filter is vintage like a VHS making it even more 80s.

Nerding out about guitars and riffs with Satchel makes this one of his best interviews. Usually it’s the same shtick and Steel Panther jokes (which I love) but this is way better.

Nick always brings the good vibes, they just amplify each other. That 80s VHS vibe on the picture is so spot on! So much to learn guitar wise, so many great riffs. Satchel plays so clean, immediately caught my ears. Got to learn some open chords with effects :D

This was the best Satchel interview I've ever seen. He keeps the schlock to a minimum and gets into what he really likes to play. The jokes are fun, and not flat like other interviews where he tries too hard to be funny. Nick is a powerhouse player and keeps right up. Really enjoyable.

I just saw Steel Panther a week ago for the 3rd time, I think this last show was their best. I've seen a lot of bands multiple times over the years, I kinda think that SP is one of the best bands out there ATM. If you get a chance to see them I highly recommend doing it and not sitting home that night, from beginning to end it's just a great show, if you miss them youre missing out.
