I'm pretty sure this is the only song in their repetoire that they could play on regular cable television. I can't imagine them playing "If You Really, Really Love Me" or "Community Property." This was a great move on their part to get more attention. Whether people consider them a parody band or not, they can perform with the best of them and are flying the hair metal flag proudly.

sadly some of the vocalists from the 80s hair metal bands have died and some lost their voices. hopefully new hair metal bands will form again in the future.
Gotta be honest, I thought this was gonna be a spoof. But I was very pleasantly surprised that they really did perform on AGT, & got the recognition they deserve. Been following these guys for a long time, & they're just plain AWESOME! Mad respect guys, great job!

I agree with Howie. This music needs to come back to the forefront. This was the best thing I've seen on AGT. Love it.
Rock and metal never wanted to be at the forefront and that's why they WERE. The second metal became dance music and trendy it fell out of style.

@@weeeeee374 lol, no offense to Steel Panther, but Ghost has a little more substance and the music isnt exactly hair metal to the core like S.P....yes, both are theatrical in a way, but a little more going on with Ghost.
What one might forget is that they're exceptionally good musicians who always deliver. I can't remember ever seeing them playing in bad shape. Ralph's always on point which is even more astounding considering that he's almost 60 years old now.

The funny thing about SP is that people don't give them enough credit. Satchel is an incredible guitarist and Michael's got an incredible range.....
Satchel is the perfect blend of Sambora, C.C. and Bratta: skills, show off and imagination.
@@OsSLatviaI think they're one of those bands that are mostly appreciated by other musicians. They act like they're dicking around up there, but they're actually slaying it, and it takes a hell of a lot of talent and a more practice than most want to put in

If you look closely enough, you can see Simon's face being melted from the majestic metal of Steel Panther.

Look at the crowd response. I don't remember seeing any act ever get such a round of applause. Rock music crosses all ethnic and gender boundaries. We need more rockers!!
Probably take this performance with a few grains of salt. The audience knows the producers are looking for big reactions, and I’m sure they’re being coached quite a bit. Plus a lot of the screams sound like they are taken from Audience Sound Effects Library 49.
If you watch them when they arrive they already have a standing ovation

It's because they actually write songs. Not some random wankfest 9 minute long of 8 strings guitar riffing with 34 tempo changes that nobody outside some circle jerk bedroom guitarist cares about. The song is at the base of everything. BuT MuH MesSUgaH!!1!11!

I know this genre is regarded as a novelty to some, but it never went 'away'
its not, a 'trend' or 'fashion',.. its a legitimate genre
When you're in the room and this style of music is playing loud and live,.. the power is overwhelming.
The skill level necessary to play it is undeniable.
In 50 years time people will still be playing ripping solo's and screaming high notes,.. because it fucking rules.
I was doing research into it actually. Hair metal was always more about the look more than the music thats how it got the name
But yes if you behind the curtain and not even for very long youll find all of the musicians are very talented

@@welldang6448 There's usually a secondary track running as a base to thicken Satchel's backing vocals and during choruses to fatten up the sound, but primary lead lines tend to be all Starr.

These guys have such a huge fan base that I didn't think it was possible to be any more popular. I can't wait for them to come back to Vegas!!!
They're whole act is just fantastic. Hilarious, pretty much always in character. A dialed in well oiled machine musically.

These guys have it all- stage presence for days and musically they’re absolutely on point! So polished
People don’t give Michael the credit he deserves, his ability to truly lead a live show is insane. His ear is trained so well after all these years of shows that he can keep the band on track even if there are tuning issues or technical difficulties. The talent goes far beyond their instruments for everyone in the band. Their understanding of every aspect of music both studio and live is some of the best. I get their music is purposefully cheesy but people sleep on how well thought out all of it really is and how well they perform live
I saw these guys in 2008 in a small club in West Hollywood the place was packed to the gills and they killed it been a fan ever since.
Satchel is the most underrated guitarist in the biz, he's a shredder who can play WITH the band and he sings. All are extremely talented and I can't wait to see how they do.. as if having a good time was a full time job.
Steel Panther is an amazing group who deserves everything great that comes their way

You have to recognize the preparation that these guys endure to be show ready. They are able to perform their shows on a 110% level.
Seen these guys last year at the gathering of the juggalos and I instantly became a fan. Their music is so hilarious and authentic that you just can't help but be sucked in.

I am in the United Kingdom and saw these guys on concert, they were unbelievable. One of the best concerts I have been to. Love this. Fair play to Simon. We have Britains got Talent finals this week.

Satchel was the guitarist for Rob Halfords band “FIGHT” in the 90’s. He’s been around the block and can definitely shred.

Saw them live in the UK a couple of weeks ago, first time and it won't be the last, they were absolutely excellent. A packed out crowd going mental and singing along LOUDLY! A superb band. Don't miss seeing them live if they come to your town!

Saw these dudes back in 2013 at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia MD. They absolutely crushed it!! Was a 3 day festival, 12hrs each day, 2 stages and countless bands and Steel Panther was easily top 3 of all the bands that played. If you haven't seen them live ... do it!! You won't regret it.
I've seen them multiple times here in Florida. They kill it every time! I even saw where the guitarist lost to an eleven-year-old kid on TH-cam.
I was at that same show at M3. They killed it. What a great festival.
These guys played Soundwave Sydney in 2015 and opened with this song. The whole crowd sung the chorus and the band members looked at each other in shock that we knew all the lyrics. Such a great show and definitely not usually family friendly 😂
I remember at soundwave 2015 in Brisbane during the song "17 girls in a row" Ralph started calling girls from the audience to come and dance shirtless on the stage and heaps of girls rushed the stage to dance topless 😅 the security guards started stopping anyone else getting on stage because of the safety issues but it was really cool, they also had a great show at Soundwave 2012 ahh good times
The singer, guitarist and bass player were in the Van Halen tribute band, The Atomic Punks, for many years; Michael Starr's impersonation of David Lee Roth is spot on!
It was the guitarist, he can do all the EVH stuff perfectly. And I wish the singer had been on the last VH tour beside Roth, he can actually sing. David Lee Roth acts so weird now and can't sing anything anymore.

I’m a Steel Panther fan. I’ve seen them live 3 times. I wanted to be that guy. The guy who thought Steel Panther on AGT was so dumb. But these guys are just pure charisma and their stage presence is unstoppable.
