Satchel showing those vocal chops too, what a supremely impressive 80 something year old stud! 🎸 🤣 I hope there's more of these, if I see Nick, Satchel or Uncle Ben Eller I click immediately every time. Awesome.
My great-grandfather was in the same class as Satchel. He said he was a really cool guy, a good guitar player, and that Satchel had the same hair back then.
I attended the Guitar Institute at the same time as Russ (Satchel), he came in when I was halfway thru. He was a good guitarist before getting to G.I.T. and was very young. I loaned him my gear for recording his demos with Jeff Martin, in the band Bad Dog. There's a few concert videos of Bad Dog on TH-cam where Russ is using my gear and blue Ibanez. Can't say enough good stuff about Russ, cool guy.
It's funny that he mentions Judas Priest because Satchel AKA Russell Parrish was actually in FIGHT, the metal band inspired by Pantera fronted by Rob Halford in the 90's! BUT believe it or not Satchel is too humble to bring that up but I am NOT!!lol Great to see Satchel, he always cracks me up!
Behind all the jokes, Satchel is one of the greatest ! Steel Panther is going to come up with THE NEW STANDARD Rock album one of these days, and it's going to leave everybody speechless ... 'cause they definitely have it, and they can.
Cool video with Satchel! I had gone all over the place for years to see the Atomic Punks. They always totally rocked! Ralph could sing like David Lee Roth better than anyone on the planet! :)
beautiful! I had "Rock You to Hell" - killer album. When Satchel started calling out GR it suddenly hit me youre from GR - I thought u were a music store employee lol. We were young in the 80s! Anyways i was completely bowled over. Thanks for Grim reaper. Suck It and See. what a jam.
I remember seein DD playing in the Woodstock bar in Keleen TX in the mid 80s when he was about 16. Killing it even at that age. I still have a copy of Projects in the jungle
Brilliant show guys...somehow I missed Steel Panther. Satchel You are a showman and I mean that in the best way...this 56y.o. is now going to start a SP deep dive. Keep on rockin guys👊
I started playing in 1984 so all of these are so classic. I kid you not though at my parent's Church once, I had started going to another one, they did a whole youth event with the theme of "dissonance is of the devil"... lol.
You know....back in the day, when Nick was rockin' the Fro in the 1980's.....He might have been the PERFECT 2nd Guitarist for STEEL PANTHER...GROWWWLLLL!!!!....Just sayin"....(By the way, extra Props for the RUSH, Simply Red AND Rick Astley references????....haha...Awesome stuff!!!........"and we had teeth as well"...Lol)
My favorite era of George Lynch has to be either when he looked like he had the same hair dresser as Limahl of Kajagoogoo or Jim Hellwig (The Ultimate Warrior).
If everyone in Grim Reaper was in Simply Red, that would make the late Steve Grimmett the best singer they ever had and the artist formerly known as Nick Bowcott their best guitarist.
Some years ago, my students were at the world robotic competitions in Tennessee. They hacked into the network and loaded iup Rick Astley on repeat over and over again. It was sponsored by the US Army first they were mad and then they wanted the kids to sign up.❤

I wanted the 1987 Delay /Distortion pedal for Christmas 🎄 😕 they sold out 😢 😂
Thank God for Satchel. He's a national treasure and I hope he never changes. He appears to never age, so that's good.
He looks amazing for an 88 yr old.
He's funny as heck.
Great to see Nick again! Always cool seeing Satchel jamming with you! 🍻
The riffs are endless and timeless. Makes me feel even more fortunate to have been a teenager in the 80's. Thanks for doing this!
Satchel is an encyclopedia of killer Metal and Hard Rock riffage. His sense of humor makes his all around talent so much more incredible. 🤘🖖
While watching this I was thinking of Mean Streak by Y&T and then Satchel hits it... YES! What a guy!
Appreciate the George Lynch love - truly an American Legend. 🇺🇸🎸🔥
Man I love this. This should be a regular thing. I love hearing the history and seeing them play.
Satchel showing those vocal chops too, what a supremely impressive 80 something year old stud! 🎸 🤣 I hope there's more of these, if I see Nick, Satchel or Uncle Ben Eller I click immediately every time. Awesome.
Have a friend who attended Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood the same time as Satchel. Has nothing but nice things to say about him.
My great-grandfather was in the same class as Satchel. He said he was a really cool guy, a good guitar player, and that Satchel had the same hair back then.

He’s possibly the nicest, funnest, most “normal” dude in music.
That devastating feeling when you select 4K and it's still in 240p.
Brilliant video!
it had to be authentically 80s, in every way 😂
Great interaction, great playing. You should make this an annual event. I think there's at least four riffs to play for both of you guys.
Satchel is so awesome. Talented, funny, and annoyingly never seems to age!!!
Satchel is a guitar god! I’ve seen Steel Panther live twice and they have been brilliant. And of course he looks great even though he’s pushing 80.
Love the 1st episode and this episode rocks too!! Love Nick and Satchel! They play well together!!🎸🎸🎸🎸🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Rock on!!!
Thanks to you both for this - Well done 🤘🏼
RaTT with Warren & Robbin “King” Crosby (R.I.P.) were a dynamic duo of axes!#🎸🔥🤟🏻🐀
BTW the riff Nick played on Grim Reaper’s See You In Hell is brilliant. So is Fear No Evil.
Satchel is not Russ Parrish though
@@DesertDweller1But isn’t it funny that you never see Russ and Satchel in the same room at the same time? Very strange.
What elevated this video to the next level was including Budgie - so underrated
Great interview, and amazing riffs!
I met John Syke's at Guitar Centers Hollywood empty [parking lot] 1989 ,30 minutes before closing ( Tony Franklin was with him
So entertaining, thanks fellas!
Absolutely tremendous guys. 🤘🏻🇺🇸🏴🎸🔥
Stachel is so awesome! LOVE this vid!

Children of the Sea is a forever Top-10 song for me. Great video 🤘
Satchel is a riot and funny as heck!! Great guitarist
Best 80's hairpiece award winner.

This is Awesome!!! Glad to see this So Funny!!!!
Love the 4:3, VHS quality
We need a weekly Nick and Satchel show! Ok, at least once a month.
Satchel is one of the coolest dudes out there...I love any interview with this guy !! Lol
80's metal rules!!!
Behind all the jokes, Satchel is one of the greatest !
Steel Panther is going to come up with THE NEW STANDARD Rock album one of these days, and it's going to leave everybody speechless ... 'cause they definitely have it, and they can.
I love the retro, 80s production.
Love the filter and retro look of this video. Awesome video!!
EZO riff...awesome pull
This so awesome and funny
In 2024, nobody is more 80's than Satchel
Fast Eddies “Say What You Will.” Killer Riff.
Criss Olivas “Power of the Night.” Amazing Riff.
Mark Reales “Thundersteel.” That riff Invented a genre.
Dokken was amazing. Beast From The East: about half of the album GL plays solo over the drums and bass and sounds killer.
EZO by Satchel! Loved him already but now its 3000!
2/3rds of the fun watching this video was listening to those two go back and forth, cracking jokes and remarks at each other.
I'M NOT REALLY A "METAL" FAN, BUT, THIS WAS INTERESTING, AND WORTH WATCHING!.. THANKS!!!
Satchel is always entertaining.
Cool video with Satchel! I had gone all over the place for years to see the Atomic Punks. They always totally rocked! Ralph could sing like David Lee Roth better than anyone on the planet! :)

RATT and Satchel rule. Have to learn that lick now
Good riffs. Thanks Guys!
Satchel's whole self-deprecating god complex never fails to amuse me 😂
This was a great hang!!!
THIS IS THE BEST MUSIC CONTENT VIDEO EVER! and im 51 years old???
I’m lucky to see here locally the best Dio band and singer you will ever see - in the Austin TX area. Mob Rules. The singer is incredible.
I remember seein DD playing in the Woodstock bar in Keleen TX in the mid 80s when he was about 16. Killing it even at that age. I still have a copy of Projects in the jungle
Love it.
Great!😊
That was so much fun
He is such a fun guy, and that hair is better than ever❤
He said I could never get my Hair to Layer like Ed 😊.
@ You are hilarious! have you met John Jorgenson? thanks
I think Flashback Heart Attack was a bigger single in the states for EZO but House has that banging riff.
Brilliant show guys...somehow I missed Steel Panther. Satchel You are a showman and I mean that in the best way...this 56y.o. is now going to start a SP deep dive. Keep on rockin guys👊
Dokken- Its not love. Is a rocking tune.
Love raven.. grew up listening to them..love the drummer with catchers mask
WHO ELSE KNEW SATCHEL WAS THE LEAD GUITAR PLAYER FOR ROB HALFORDS THRASH BAND "FIGHT"? ONE OF THE BEST THRASH ALBUMS EVER, GO LISTEN!!
Me, i also knew he was in atomic punks and his name is russ parish.
Yep, saw Russ with Fight in Minneapolis. Also saw him with the Atomic Punks many times when I lived in Vegas,
We all know that.
Nice video.
I started playing in 1984 so all of these are so classic. I kid you not though at my parent's Church once, I had started going to another one, they did a whole youth event with the theme of "dissonance is of the devil"... lol.

Every Nick video wails!
Satchel, you freaking beast! :) Should I get a Charvel guitar?
EZO was actually a second Japanese hair metal band after Loudness that was pretty famous abroad among Japan itself
"Sus2 Sus2!!!!" Hahahahahaja..gold
I think it's time to get Nick, Ben Eller, and Satchel all in the same room. Will Sweetwater survive? We'll find out.
"Hey Sweetwater! Hire this guy."
Desert Plains 👍
First thing I think of when “Dime” is mentioned is a Wargod with his Washburn axe with my Confederate Flag! #🎸🔥🤟🏻
My favorite era of George Lynch has to be either when he looked like he had the same hair dresser as Limahl of Kajagoogoo or Jim Hellwig (The Ultimate Warrior).
What year did this VHS tape come out?
Be Kind and Please Rewind!
If everyone in Grim Reaper was in Simply Red, that would make the late Steve Grimmett the best singer they ever had and the artist formerly known as Nick Bowcott their best guitarist.
I remember seeing this 3 years ago.
Rock you ta Hell 🔥
Some years ago, my students were at the world robotic competitions in Tennessee. They hacked into the network and loaded iup Rick Astley on repeat over and over again. It was sponsored by the US Army first they were mad and then they wanted the kids to sign up.❤
“Never Gonna Give You Up!”martydibergi5228
Saw these guys live and they RIP!
Mega Jungs!
How did Satchel not make it in Metal...
He has been around for so long....
He never ages isn't he like 70?...LOL
Always sounds amazing!!!
When is that red Charvel that Satchel is playing on tour now gonna be available???
i saw dokken open for judas priest in rochester ny and george got into a shoving match with his roadie , the rest of the band kept going!!
Couple of hams with guitars. 🍖🎸💪😁
Sweetwater rules.
🤘
"F#, probably the most metal key " ... just seems like this line should have been in Spinal Tap. Maybe after, "But these go to 11..."
F# minor is, in fact, the most metal key possible in standard tuning, mechanically. I can’t explain why exactly, but it is true.
Desert PLains is abeast.. rolling thunder!
Y&T 🤘
Man, a great F# song is Turn Me On by ACCEPT
Great video except for one thing. It should have been 2 to 3 hours long!! Nick is the man!! And Satchel has great vibrato and hair!!
Hope i hear some mercifal fate
Crazy nights loudness
Satchel I heard is from Fresno California
Vivian never gets mentioned by name with the Dio stuff.
He did at the time.
Russ is a smart guy.
Children of the sea sounds like a Mastodon song or close to it
