Perspective in the video is useful. Many thanks for the update. You know more about the prices in Ireland than the local dealer in Deansgrange! They don't know orders are open, so maybe VW could let them know? Thanks for the review, as always.

Nice video Bob ! The problem with the ID Buzz is that the concept version they showed off a few years ago looked so much better. Probably to do with crash test regs etc they had to change it.

Great review, I have followed the buzz for years waiting for its official launch, 7 seats / camper van options are the way to go but the price with decent extras bring you over 80k!!! Any potential savings from electric running costs are soon to be lost, I have gone from range anxiety to charger anxiety to gas anxiety to money anxiety to job anxiety this month, At least in the campervan you could drive to a warmer country for the winter, love the Channel.

I really like the flat floor in the back and the open cabin. Very good looking on the outside too.
It doesn't have a LFP battery that is happy to be charged to 100%☹️
75k for a good spec will blow my budget

Excellent perspective from the camera, bla bla , (hope google's algorithm pays attention to my innocuous comment. :) )
Common peeps, put a comment, any comment, let us get Bob's channel out to more people.

Regarding the non-spinning wind farm, in really windy conditions sometimes the turbines produce more electricity than the country or the area which they supply can use. So the turbines as halted to reduce wear and tear.

I saw these busses all over Copenhagen, and I was like; either every German who took early delivery of a buzz decided to have their holiday in Denmark, or the city is full of automotive journalists. Mystery solved :p
The reason why the mills weren't turning was.. Lack of wind, for most of the summer. Perfect timing with the general development of the European energy prices.
Having motorists, cyclists and pedestrians have their own lane is the safest way to arrange a city

Be interested to see what the 4-wheel drive version will be like to appeal to leisure enthusiast who wants to tow? if Haldex unit rather than full prop shaft on Audi for example. It's all weight and on over 2 tonnes on 2-wheel version, not sure where they can lose the pounds?

  • @The_Jimrod

Why doesn't everyone use a standard format for electric consumption? The logical option being miles/km per kWh - like the old MPG. That way you know if you're getting 4m per kWh and you've got a 50kw battery your range is 200m, it's very easy for everyone to understand.

Great review Bob. Nice in the black colour. I like the interior, reminds me of the lads in the A Team van being able to swap seats without getting out. Hopefully VW doesn't have another diesel gate in the form of electric gate. Ursula wants us to have cold baths instead of power showers at the moment, if she decides nobody can charge their electric car we're all back to diesel and they can kiss their new car sales goodbye.
Separate bike lanes are the only sensible way to go. Never understood the idea of painting a strip down a road where trucks drive and calling it a bike lane.

Interesting. I think the likes of the MG 4 are going to blow a massive hole in VW ID sales into 2023. Remains to be seen if VRT destroys the price of the car here though.

  • @stevezodiac491

But the price ? Starting at £57000.
This is a van based on a car platform, so it is very small, not a big van. I bought a 6 seater, 170 bhp Fiat Talento, long wheel base onyx edition van with alloy wheels, side runners and android auto etc for
£25 k including vat brand new, during the pandemic. My van has a range of well over 600 miles and is a very large van. Who in their right mind would pay much more than twice as much, for a small van with about a third of the range on the motorway ? As well as that changing the heater controls etc, hidden in the
display menu, like all the id series is an utter nightmare on the move, I am told.

The ID3 and 4 were a bit lackluster, but this thing looks pretty cool and unique. Too bad they're not offering it with an ICE as well, it would've been a huge seller with those looks.

No opening windows for back seat passengers? £65k+ for the base version with 250 mile range?
    Not for me.
I've got the same mileage and not much less space in my Enyaq 60 for just over £30k.

Very surprised - and a little disappointed - that VW didn’t lead with the 7-seater. The market’s crying out for that!
For me, it’s going to be too expensive. But it’ll obviously sell. And it’s a good vehicle to have as an option to buy.

This could be very good family car but for few resaone it is not. It has only 2 isofix and zero air vents in 2nd row. Also Vw wasted the space, because there sholud be 7 seater in this version - short one for the start. (there will be 6 seater) For me to buy 7 seater I have to wait 1,5 years, buy long one, with bigger battery to have good range and also be forced to spend even more for 4 wheel drive. All of that will make the Id buzz very big, very expencive and with much worse turning circle family car - not that great for daily in city. The short one with 7 seats and 77kwh battery and rear wheel drive, with 5 isofix (yes 5, because there should be 3 seats in middle row, not a bench) would for sure be fantastic electric family car.

  • @ram64man
    @ram64man 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Vw need to improve there range and charge speeds they have fallen behind the Koreans, they still have to much Id design language for my liking, now that the head of vw has now changed hopefully it means a change for the better , more egolf than Id interior please , but ditch the Haptic Touch buttons , ditch that horrible infotainment that hasn’t worked right from day one , why you can’t get a glass sunroof is beyond me, but up the game overall what gets me is with the id4 first batch the allowed the us market to get leather seats but European models can’t have it even though they were made in the same factory, it’s daft ideas like this that need to go let the public decide what options they want , with the buzz it should have and could have been better a flagship model but it’s not it’s far overpriced for the quality your getting the 4x4 should be from day one but also the bigger pack should have been made available on the buzz since it’s a driving brick on wheels , one thing for sure vw will make a fortune in replacement glass

Crazy stuff electric cars and vans will never take over from diesel, we can't even light up Christmas this Year, how can we charge electric cars, and I read a few days ago that it will be cheaper to fill a car with Diesel than charge it.... my car has ad blue, it kills all the bad fumes coming out of the exhaust so all that's left is vapor totally harmless to the planet......

I always preferred MPG and when we went metric way back in the late 70s/80s much of Canada never gave up on MPG and imperial measurements for real estate measurements. Strange. And the whole litres/100km never caught on in my world. LOL. Weird they never had km per litre... km per gallon?
Anyways, kW per 100km? UGH. And now south of us is the US and they are reporting kW per miles, and sometimes miles per kW? kW per miles? Ok this Buzz is cool but it isn't fast. 0-60 is 10secs? RWD. And I'm afraid it's going to be really expensive. Oh well, eventually it will come to Canada in 2025? 26?
