Thank you for watching folks, if you'd like to watch more like this I had a video last week where I discussed how Sylveon was buffed in STABmons, feel free to go watch that if you enjoyed :) th-cam.com/video/gUZ1LDneLF0/w-d-xo.html (Link here)
tysm for sharing the love of OMs. Not only is this interesting information you're sharing that I wouldn't realistically find anywhere else, your editing style is honestly addicting
Would be interesting, sadly it'd still have the flaw of a bad defensive movepool (lack of recovery move), but still being able to get Unaware or Levitate would be pretty nice for it.
It’s more boring but I’ve used an alolan muk inheriting orthworm. Switch it in on a ground move and heal up while you coil for body press and iron tail
That's an interesting set, would actually like to use it, especially given it doesn't run the flaw of crossing with the ability clause in the tier since only Orthworm gets Earth Eater.
Thoroughly good video my dude. First of yours I've seen. The content was informative and engaging and he graphics kept my eyes busy. Overall production value was high. I'm now part of the 7%, which will surely reach higher peaks soon enough. Subbed 👍
Let's play a game! Multiple choice question! What ability is Alolan Muk running? A. Regenerator B. Regenerator C. Regenerator D. Regenerator Answer: I was right
Honestly with the plethora of other Rapid Spinners in the tier, I think it's an overrated pick for a Regenerator Inheritor due to ability clause, and is better off taking less common abilities like Levitate and Unaware.
I'll definitely look into it, made a video a while back like that for Mix and Mega, but it's been a bit since I made a starter guide video so I can definitely do better on a new one, I'll add the video idea to my list :)
Due to the way the inherit system works, it will inherit from whatever comes first in the Dex, since those two are (basically if not entirely) the same, it goes to the lowest dex entry that fits it, which is Bramblin, since Brambleghast is it's evolution and is one ahead of it in Dex number, hope this explained it well :)
@@Self-Referential It is quite sad to see it go, I understand why it's gone, but I do hope eventually OMs can get a big enough playerbase for it to return, til then though, RIP inh o7
As a guy looking that game play out, I feel like in that endgame any Dark resist wouldve been enough to win there, as Bijou found himself having to hit a taxel in the end, but on the other hand it did successfully wall enamorus throughout the game so i cant say that much about it Amuk's niche as a defensive pokemon comes mainly from being a dark type not weak to fairy. This makes the unaware set 100% stored power proof, and can use its natural bulk to check faries and the like. Curse is definetly a move you can run on it, but it isnt its main niche. The Chimecho set seen in the OMPL game was quite a surprise, as Amuk has barely seen any high level play otherwise Kingambit struggles in the tier mainly due to there being better options and completely lacking its X factor of Tera+Supreme Overlord At first glance, why would i run a slow strong bulky dark type (gambler) when i could run a fast, fairly bulky, stronger dark type (roaring moon). Gambler has to justify itself on its numbers and typing over Moon, and its very hard to say no to that base 119 speed. On top of that, supreme overlord isnt that good when i can get my boost right now with tough claws or adapt instead of when im close to losing, and even in regular play Gambler without tera is like such a downgrade; its hard to put into words how much of a difference it makes Bax was held back by 1) being slow, 2) having its niche be entirely defined by Triple Axel and 3) competition with kyurem. Compared to banned beast Chien Pao, Bax can struggle to hit the field due to basically only outspeeding walls and bulky setup mons, as well as having a mediocre typing and OK bulk. Tech Taxel is still criminally strong, but its also a move thats bad for your cardiovascular health due to its unreliability, and you cant rely on stuff like beat up and knock like Pao as well due to not having stab. Kyurem lastly had better everything but attack, but at least thats fixed now. Maybe ill find some rises coming its way. Its niche as a donor is basically because of Glaive Rush, since nothing else gives such a solid dragon stab move along with a good movepool.
Does this meta only allow pokemon to inherit from pokémon in their egg group? Or is it any pokémon any pokémon? I feel like egg group might be an interesting restriction, but I understand if people want more freedom to mix and match pokémon stats and typing with moves and abilites
It's any Pokemon, the core restriction in this Metagame is the fact that even if Mon has abilities or moves you want, you need to make sure they have everything you want. Hence why Kingambit is so bad, and why Oricorio just got banned, Oricorio gave mons Quiver Dance, and with Revelation Dance, also gave every Mon a base 90 power STAB move since the move takes off their typing.
I think it should have worked the other way around with pokemon reciving the stats of the named pokemon but keeping everything else pokemon with big numbers already thrive give the little guy a chance
There's sort of a Metagame like this called Godly Gift, where Legendaries give the other mons in the team their stats depending on the slot, I.E HP First slot, Speed Last slot. I think Inheritance is a great way though to make Pokemon that struggle due to bad movepools and abilities thrive like Registeel who famously sucks, but is actually quite good in STABmons cause it gets to keep it's statspread while taking a better movepool and ability, in its case for example, changing it's stats wouldn't matter because it's movepool and ability already sucks, and it just simply wouldn't compare to top threats.
Inheriting is done by just building a Pokemon and giving them the ability and moves you want from the Provider, so for A-Muk Inheriting from Clodsire, I'd simply put Unaware in it's ability slot (it'll say illegal, it's fine), and then whatever 4 moves from Clodsires movepool, typically being Curse, Recover, Poison Jab, and Earthquake. Hope this explained it :)
Like the english word? It means to receive something passed onto you from another person or thing, in this case Alolan Muk is "Inheriting", as in taking, Chimechos ability Levitate, and it's movepool, in exchange for Alolan Muks own.

Hey, adding the hyperlink here might give you better traffic :D
How nice that the mon who can inherit an ability from an ally in the main series (through Power of Alchemy) is good in Inheritance
Glad to see videos like this on OMs and not just base play. Always loved OMs and seeing more creators discuss them is a great feeling.
Im proud to be part of the 7%

Much appreciated, thank you for watching :)
You were very successful and are very skilled. Thanks for the invite
Never heard of this tier, but now im absolutely in love with the concept, awesome video!
Another W for one of the more underrated regional forms

Would you be willing to do a small analysis/recap of a previous gen STABmons meta. Like gen 7 or something
I wouldn't mind doing that at all, sounds interesting. Generation 7 is a pretty interesting one due to Shell Smash being legal and other things

At 1:02, is there a reason Gholdengo inherets from Bramblin and not Brambleghast? Just wondering because at a glance the two look basically the same.
