Man do I wish we could have gotten a longer run of Eastman and Laird on the writing AND art. The artists who took over were good, but E & L created MAGIC. Made you want to live in this world! Had SO many good things going for it! Art has a Jack Kirby mixed with Frank Miller vibe while doing its own thing also. These were just special. Can't count how many rereads I've given these, now gna have to give another lol
I Love this "series" so much. I hope ya'll get the full run in & even go on to do other books with the original creators perhaps! Thank You ALL Kevin, Peter, Jim & ED!
This was such an amazing series! Thank you so much, Ed & Jim for pulling this off. Your questions and insights into the comics were great and hearing Kevin and Peter's thoughts were a dream come true. I really hope you have a chance to cover the Micro-Series issues and also issues #10 & 11. While we may not get another Eastman & Laird comic collab, this was the next best thing! Would also really love to see a deep dive into Jim Lawson's thoughts on his work with the TMNT.
Boys, if you get another one on one with Laird, PLEASE ask him about Old Times in Plastron Cafe #1. I would love to hear everything he has to say about that short story. These videos are amazing!
All accolades, numbers, views, success, aside- I hope you guys are able to step back and appreciate the fact you’ve helped rekindle the friendship of two best friends who were the architects of our childhood. Kayfabe represents what comics and fandom should be.
Thank you guys so much for continuing with these. The mirage stuff is what got me into comics so many eons ago. And an even bigger thank you & respect for getting peter laird to discuss all this stuff too. 🤘
Ed, your comment about silent panels versus panels with words, and how words breaks the action down into units sounds so obvious when you hear it, but I never thought of it that way. Another piece of education that I'm taking with me!
Man… I am paging through a hardcover collection along with you guys, and there seems to be a huge difference in the clarity, power and dynamics of figure work and storytelling! The art is fantastic and fun as hell!
Really great parallel in this episode when Tom is mentioned. Peter and Tom seem like they may be cut from the same cloth. Just unlimited amounts of imagination…
Funny thing he'd bring up Argentina. Turtles were really massive here, to the point that we had our own TV show devoted to them, with some really crappy songs in Spanish, people in costumes and whatnot. Of course, I had that tape when I was a kid (dubbed though, couldn't afford the real thing). Can't wait for the next episode of this series.
Whoa, comic book shops don't have back issue bins? My go-to (the Great Escape in Nashville) still has a ton of them on the floor and a bunch more in the back! I'm having a hard time imagining comic shops without those longboxes.
You guys should definitely get Rob Liefeld back on it's always a treat to see him on your platform you ask the right questions and he always gives a good show BRING ROB ON AGAIN!!
It would be great if you guys could get Dave Sim on board for the issue 8 discussion. He actually posted a multi part interview with Kevin Eastman on his channel recently about issue 8, so the timing is good!
It's amazing how good the original Turtle comics are. They certainly live up to the legend.

These are so awesome! If you guys are planning to do all their issues they wrote and drew, I hope you do the city at war issues.
Those are my favorite tmnt stories. I love City at War.
These sessions for a TMNT fan are grail material - well done chaps 🎉 epic interviews with the legends themselves - incredible and thank you 🙏

Great interviewing, guys. Thank you for letting them speak!

So happy to follow this series
GOAT TH-cam channel.
It puzzles me that Kevin doesn’t promote The Last Ronin at the end.
