10:40 you could get some mud flaps. They would solve that problem. That’s what they’re for. Would save you some time cleaning Ruby. They won’t keep her pristine but they would keep most of that mud off of her and would be a cheap easy mod.
Our friends went to Montana for their honeymoon in August, and we all thought they were so weird until they got back and we saw their pictures. Every single one was amazing. Everybody doesn’t love the beach and tropical places, so I’m glad they did what made them happy. They’ve convinced this beachhead to try something new.
Montana is gorgeous! I live in Idaho, but both sides of my grandparents lived in Montana so that meant many trips growing up. I do think Idaho & Montana have some really pretty & cool places!
“Last best place” is what we call Montana, so there are a lot of things named after that. I live outside of Bozeman, the more expensive and hipster version of Missoula few fun facts: This winter was way too warm. Snowpack was gone super early and was nowhere near deep enough. Our snowpack feeds many major river systems in America so this is pretty bad, but we’ve had a ton of rain in spring so hopefully will be okay. The bitterroot wilderness which spans into Frank Church River of no return is the largest forested wilderness area in the lower 48. Only one bigger overall is Death Valley. Western Cafe is okay, there are better options. Lastly for anyone who comes to town, we really don’t plow. Know how to drive in snow or come in summer.
@@WhatTheHeck1290 RIght?!? That's what I was thinking. Do not make Montana seem like a good place to come. We have bears, and bobcats, and fires, earthquakes, supervolcanos, it is pretty much death right around every corner. LOL
We are very glad you guys never gave up on Clementine and are still traveling with her! This is the first time I ever saw "horse skiing"! Looks like you had a great time! Cant wait to see your next stop!
The "last best" thing is a very Montana adjective and gets added on to any type of business. I've heard last best brewery, last best pizza restaurant, last best radio station, etc. I've lived here for 13 years now and would rather not hear another "last best" jingle. Glad you had a good time here. You should come back in the spring or fall. It's really spectacular in the shoulder seasons. Summer is great to if the smoke from wildfires isn't too bad.
18:51 I can't believe you didn't mention there is an inflatable hot tub full of people for the skiers to jump over!!! Never seen anything like that before! 🤣
Huckleberry pie is the best there. I always buy the huckleberry chapstick…..yes…chapstick! The best! All my family request it for a souvenir! Love Bannack! We camped there at their small primitive campground. We walked around right at dark…..spooky! Hiked up the hill overlooking the town, think it was a cemetery!
Huckleberrys are like a cranberry and blue berry mixed. A young Lass would make a special Huckleberry desert for her true love, so when Val says I will be your Huckleberry it is a very mixed message. Hope you did not get caught up in the avalanche issues. The skijoring looks like fun to watch, we had a pony that pulled us skiing and sledding as kids. Stay safe and healthy.
Actually he is saying/supposed to be saying, “I’m your Hucklebearer. The handles on a casket are called Huckles. So he is saying i’m your casket bearer. Hucklebearer was a common term back then. Similar to today’s Pallbearer.
Bannack is such a cool ghost town; even in the summer, it was not overly packed. Garnet, which is northeast of Missoula, is another great ghost town, although it is busier than Bannack despite the twisty dirt road to get there.
We actually tried to visit Garnet, but the only way to get there was via snowmobile or backcountry skiing and the logistics/timing just didn't work out. We'll definitely have to come back in the summer and check it out!
It’s so nice to see you guys enjoying yourselves. I am watching this episode from the hospital. Getting ready to have my gallbladder removed. Can you provide so much needed entertainment distraction company so thank you.
Horse racing with a skier being pulled along behind also happens in Switzerland. They have horse racing on the frozen lake at St Moritz, known as the Frozen Truf.
Ha! I'm in Missoula, and was just out for a drive the other day and passed through St. Regis. I half expected my big red ambulance to be in your background!😂
Looks like Ruby has tires that are wider than the arch in the fender above it, so either skinnier tires or a wider fender will probably help a lot to keep her cleaner. :D
Nice to see what Montana looks like. My Great Aunt emigrated there from the UK just after WW2. Her GI husband was from Montana/Colorado. Great video and greetings from France.
Glad we could take you around a bit of the state! We especially loved that it felt like the landscape hadn't changed much over the past hundred years. We like to think your Great Aunt had the same sweeping valley and mountain views as us 😊
Perhaps the most Montana thing is those guys who look like they're sitting in a hot top just below that skijoring jump. I remember an episode of Top Gear where they tried skijoring behind cars, it was a bit wild. Anyway, y'all's singing voices aren't half bad!
I live in Idaho and can't wait to see where you go or went! I found your channel years ago and this might be my first comment. love all of your adventures!!!
You might have forgotten eating huckleberry pie and ice cream in Eureka Springs, Arkansas in 2020, but I didn't. In fact that video was the reason we ate both at the Balcony Bar on our trip to Eureka Springs!
🤦♂️🤦♀️ we 100% forgot! So glad you guys know how cool Eureka Springs is, though! I guess now you'll have to go to Montana and compare huckleberries 😅
I think Ruby's fenders aren't big enough and that's why the mud shoots up. If you put on "fender flares" or whatever they're called, it might minimize that happening.
I'm so happy to see that ghost town pretty much intact .Most towns these days would of trashed those old buildings 😮!! That breakfast looks fantastic. Can't wait to get out west. Safe travels in the snow. I hope you won't need chains on your tires! Great Video once again 😊 🤠🍺❣️🐴🐷🐎🏇⛷️🤣
I've always wanted to try huckleberries! Relating them to Creme Savers is perfect for me to get the idea because I was always the mom friend with a purse full of Creme Savers and butterscotch discs for my gal pals 😆
I know a couple who took their RV across the country, then got frozen in at Montana and had to stay until Spring because it was unsafe to drive back! It's a good thing you got out when you did! 😊
Happy to see you enjoying my part of the country! Huckleberries are my very favorite. Try the jam or pie! For those who don't know, think blueberry but smaller and more intense flavor, a bit more tart. Grows above about 2000' in the NW where there is snow and enough rainfall, ripe in august or september depending on climate and sun. Coastal huckleberries (more red than purple) aren't the same.
OMG! I grew up in Darby Mt.! You guys should go up tin cup, there are awesome camping spots. My parents still live up that road. Also check out the Lost trail hot springs ♨️ and lake Como is absolutely gorgeous. Hi there! Love your vlogs for a many years. As a Dutchmen i have a request, when you speak about higts or temperature, is it possible to show it on screen in centimeters and Celsius? For all those who don"t live in the U.S. 😉
Everywhere you go they tell you to wait ten minutes and the weather changes. In Montana we roll our eyes to them all. How many places have 100 degree temperature swings in a matter of a day or two like we have here?
Smooth Criminal was one of Eric's best puns of all time, LOL! If you guys ever do an annual recap-type video, it should include your top 10 jokes of the past year. 😆
Nice! This episode is like Jim Carey “When Nature Calls”. Eric reminds me of Carey with that humor. That ghost town was cool, and the food looked delicious.
I got so excited when you guys pulled into Jim & Mary's RV park cuz that's where I stay when I visit Missoula! But then you guys didn't explore Missoula. 😢 There is so much good food, great bar crawl, and you guys would have loved Rockin Rudy's!
Funny I was watching your old videos from your first trip to New York and you were wondering if you would be successful at this. I would say you are very successful!
Ruby tires sticking out past the fender is what makes it such a mess. I had it also on one of my rangers. Its what it is if the tires are spaced out like that. Mud flaps wont even work that well because of the spaced outness'ssses
FYI, there are these things called "Mud Flaps" that... you guessed it! They reduce the mud that your tires send onto your vehicle. May be a good investment for Ruby.
I'm currently traveling through Montana with my husband. Our ride is a bit different as my husband is a truck driver so were traveling in a semi truck 😂 it's very beautiful here for sure. I travel full time with him since our kids are grown with our 3 little dogs.

Was gonna make same comment. Pep boys mudflaps will fix that problem.
Their tires are partially outside of the fenders!
@@judithburke1539 they make mud flaps that extend out past the fenders for that reason. The ones they have probably just aren’t wide enough.
Oversized fender flares that cover tyres would do the trick. Many trucks face the same issue.
@@waterfalls4540 sure but it’s a lot cheaper and easier to just screw on some wider mud flaps.
