Totally agree with your videos that I have seen. Keep it up, the modern day catholic man needs this message. It's all about balance. As long as God is number 1 we can find that middle ground. New convert and have struggled with scrupulosity as well but, definitely getting better. Happy New Year!
First time listener, first time caller - Must say the message is spot on. Personally I need to push more deeply into both prayer and fitness, but this always must be done with God at the helm and not our egos. I think about fitness a lot in terms of providing and protecting for my wife and kids - Building any plan you have (prayer, fitness, work, etc) around glorifying God and therefore serving your family is key. Not to say there is only one way to slice it or exercises that are better than others (although there might be) but having those priorities front and center is what matters. Keep up God’s work and really appreciate the well thought out content as it’s the route so many more men must forge these days.
Thanx you mike i recently subscribed to you and keith nestor. Thank u guys for strengthening my faith with catholicism. I feel like u directly speak to me bc im a gym rat myself. I been thru alot thanks again for opening my eyes to god again to get me thru tough times. God bless
I’ve been making the same mental transition over the years when it comes to my training. Being a former high level athlete in kickboxing, it was very difficult to let go of training every day, but I’ve dialed it way back now that I have boys to raise. I love seeing them wrestle with each other, and it just makes me believe that God the Father takes delights in seeing his sons make responsible use of their bodies. The question I always ask myself when it comes to training is, is this sort of training and diet at the service of God and my neighbor, or for my own ego? Love your message in this video, and it definitely needs to be promoted among young men against the popular manosphere garbage.
Physical fitness is absolutely important as our bodies are our temple and we are called to be hardened soldiers. To me its more important to be physically active. Reading is fine but one can overload their brain. When someone takes roids that is going too far
Thank you for the video...I needed to hear this. Just inflamed my rotator cuff 2 weeks ago trying to be cute and lifting more than I know I should have. Instead of putting in place the humility, patience and temperance God wants me to have here, my vanity wants to go and tear it up some more before it properly heals. Shame I don't have more self restraint at 41.
A lot of good and successful natural lifters and bodybuilders have a balanced approach I would say and don't obsess a lot either like Geoffrey Verity Schoffield for example who doesn't count calories or basement bodybuilding who doesn't care for abs so doesn't have em or train em. But I think a lot of the obsessive bodybuilders or lifters as I was need to establish themselves firmly in Christ so as to have that patience and tranquility while we build to our goals. But for a lot of secularist bodybuilders their journeys bring them the natural virtue required to be successful through the natural orientation towards the good. One of the things too that I think people shouldn't yield to is low expectations, doomerism, and blackpilling in terms of physique development, if God has implanted a desire in you and it's not sinful then why not persue it. Its no different than building a fast car or making a beautiful church if you want to do something why not go out and do it, while it may look extreme from the outside a man can be jacked and stacked and strong. And also the abs thing its usually because people are way too small or/and have fallen into the don't train abs meme if you want em you can get them without having to diet you just have to train them and not have 25+%bf.
How do you even out one's pec muscles... My left pec is lacking so much compared to my right also... My legs don't seem to grow at all... No matter how long and how many rows or sets i do... Cause I'll feel the pump but then just feel drained afterwards and sleepy... Am i defective? Lol
Try unilateral exercises (single arm) like single arm pec flies. For your legs, there’s a lot that goes into it that could be the problem(diet, training technique, recovery etc) but remember it takes time to grow. But a coach like Mike or a personal trainer would definitely help.
Our bodies are GOD given. I believe that being fit and muscular can glorify GOD.
Absolutely

For real?! Bro, let’s go! Stoked for you my man. Blessed to have played a small role in that. For The Kingdom!

Let us consecrate our bodies and 2025 to our God!
Golgatha is only true and eternal revolution.
✝️
Let’s go!
There needs to be balance between the spiritual and physical. Too much of anything isn't good.
Exactly right
Bravo ❤
