The story arguably hints that the whole thing was a dream caused by Sonic blacking out from Amy's years of physical and emotional abuse, which would mean that Amy herself made Sonic late for their date with her reckless thoughtlessness.
@@gamingwithdream2005 felt pretty natural to me. In a lot of games, amy seems very commanding in a way, she just finally focused it properly, and not towards sonic. Besides, wasnt she the unofficial leader of the group in forces? Pretty sure knux was the official one but she basically ran the show herself. Right? I never played forces but watched videos.
Amy DOES have an obsessive side but it's not the only part of her character, I actually think the Dark Age era used her nicely, there should be Nothing wrong with showing her different sides, sometimes, she's all fangirly and sometimes she's a heroine that has someone like Cream looking up to her and even calls her strong and brave. I don't think any part of Amy's character should be forgotten, the way I see it, part of her was INTENTIONALLY made to be annoying and/or funny while at the same time her being a great hero.
I hate how everyone calls the 2000s era the dark ages when that can't be further from the truth now adays to me it should be the one that's called the meta era and the modern games the dark ages. I mean take a look at the current state of the sonic franchise it's being run by people who only nostalgia pander and the writers can't write for the life of them. I mean they messed up so much this era it's laughable. The characters are not who they once were because of this era. At least sonic 06 is somewhat fun to play and laugh at in terms of glitches but boom sonic is in its own league of bad like I could even play that game for an hour I returned it in an hour after playing it was that bad then forces comes out and it was automated so much to where u could just put down the controller and grab a sandwitch and watch the game play itself and get an S ranking. Also there hasn't been a new GOOD 3D sonic game in years the only thing that came out was team sonic racing last year and that was dead on arrival. Point is to me the meta era is the dark age and the dark age is the meta era.
@@forestreflection2066 Eh, I see it as more along the lines of Colors Era being The Dark Age of Sonic, and Modern Era being Dark Age 2: Umbral Boogaloo.
FUN FACT: In Sonic Unleashed Amy asks Sonic if they can go out on a date after everything was over you can say yes or no in game but canonically you say yes and that’s why Amy’s mad at the end of Sonic and the Black Knight Edit: It seems I’ve started a war
Blame the punks who bashed on "Sonic's lame friends," which are not my words; I like the cast of characters. People will argue "Why do I have to play as other characters in a game about the title character?" To answer that, I could point to the Legend of Zelda games, where not only does the titular character not have a playable role for just about every game, but doesn't even make an appearance in some! (See Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening) Now, with a cast as big as Sonic's, it's gonna be hard to make multiple quality games that feature all of them as playable; it just ain't gonna work. But the problem comes when the cast is reduced to bystanders that can't rely on themselves (looks at Forces' Tails).
@@sonicstar917 I HATE that argument! "The games would be better if you didn't have to play as Sonic's stupid friends.", it's like... Do they not realize Shadow COUNTS as one of Sonic's friends? Also his friends, as you said, are not useless. They outclass him in everything other than speed. ALL OF THEM ALSO WIELD HIGHLY DESTRUCTIVE POWERS! Sonic can't do everything. His friends shouldn't be pushed to the side to only offer weak moral support. We had 10yrs of only Sonic in the mainline games. We need the cast to come back as playable characters. It won't solve everything, but atleast it would add variety to the press boost to zip through the stages in 2mins. This isn't classic Sonic. The games aren't all about going fast. It's a balance of speed and style, but Sega's been slacking on style.
Yeah I hate how non-fans (and fans but mostly otherwise) have pushed Sonic Team into this "Sonic only gameplay" mentality. I hope this is one of the many things that aren't brought into their 30th anniversary title. It won't be a good representation of the series and everything it's gone through.
@@thebrainnameditself9530 Exactly! MODERN SONIC IS ABOUT SONIC AND HIS FRIENDS, NOT JUST SONIC! That's what the non-fans don't understand. Didja like having characters with unique abilities? Did you like the idea of finding out who better suited your playstyle? Did you like in depth stages that weren't just a straight line you can boost to win? The formula they are going with is not working, and it worries fans for their beloved franchise. Some of us wanted that Adventure 3 game, but based on what they've been putting out, they might rehash Forces and plaster Adventure 3 on it. Honestly, they put themselves in an interesting position with the end of Forces. They even have things left unsolved. Why not make a sequel where The Resistance cleans up Eggman's mess. You go through stages and complete different objectives, as Sonic, SONIC'S FRIENDS, and the OC. Some objectives are tailored to specific characters, while others allow the player to pick who they want to use. Stages should be wider, and more explorable, leaving areas that can be accessed by certain characters. This would help if SEGA actually looked back at their previous games, not just Unleashed,Colors, and Generations, and studied the stage layouts, and move sets of each character.
No mention of Amy’s psychic powers? She can tell the future with tarot cards, seen in Sonic CD and Chronicles, and in Sonic Battle it’s implied she literally creates a psychic projection of Sonic to fight with her due to sheer willpower!
Personally, I have always like Amy, enough to actually consider her my favorite character in the Sonic franchise... and best girl too. XD The thing with Amy is that her character concept is pretty good and relatable to both boys and girls because despite some of her flaws, she represents the good in all of us, and that to be a hero, you do not need any fancy superpowers... Only the desire to do what is right and a strong heart to resist the temptation of revenge and instead forgive those who did awful things in the past. (Like she did when saving Metal Sonic in Mania Adventures) What Amy needs is not to have her character changed or modified but rather, to use what is already there and focus on her positive aspects. Sonic Adventure already showed that this is possible as it made Amy a very multi-dimentional character with multiple facets within just one game: she is in love with Sonic, but that affection does not cloud her judgement (she stands up to him to protect Gamma), she might be immature and childish, but has enough sense to know when to behave and display both maturity and common sense and often puts the needs of others before her own. Like Sonic, she too feels compassion for the innocent in distress and will always help them... However, Amy's compassion and empathy goes beyond what Sonic and other characters in the franchise do as she is the only one who extends this to the bad guys, whom she helps to find a way to redeem themselves and earn a second chance to be happy. The other thing that Sonic Team really, and I mean REALLY need to do is to stop excluding/leaving Amy behind in favor of the "Classic Trio" (Sonic/Tails/Knuckles), an aspect that IMO only exists for the sake of nostalgia pandering. Only by taking in Amy as the main character she was always meant to be, can she display the things that as a character she can do. Otherwise, they will continue to deny Amy such chances, such as when she was sidelined from Sonic Adventure 2's story or in Sonic Forces, where the leadership traits she developed in Sonic Heroes (really underrated role of Amy that people always undermine over one single line of dialogue) were ignored to instead favor Knuckles, despite him never having proved, shown or display any hint of posessing such character traits. Give her roles that mean something within the story. Make her playable again (Sonic Mania was the perfect chance for this, and she already had a unique gameplay in Advance 1 that would fit perfectly with some improvements) and most importantly, never try to replace her role with someone else. While in the 2000's and after Amy suffered because of how writers focused only on her crush for Sonic to the point of eclipsing her other noble traits, it's also necessary to remind how said endearing traits were for some of the titles passed onto Cream the Rabbit. Just like how the idea of Eggman's role being stolen by others (*cough*Zavok*cough*) is something that annoys me, the same thing I feel when Amy's role as the heart/moral compass is usurped by another character who has no personality beyond being just impossibly nice.
The Sonic Mania animated shorts got Amy right. They still had her be a little obsessive over Sonic, but she went out of her way to help that robot that Sonic had just taken out.
i don't see how she was obsessed with sonic in that episode, she can involve her personality without dropping her crush for sonic, being in love doesn't mean being obsessed
To be fair, "Sonic Free Riders" couldn't get MOST of the characters. The only ones who weren't assholes were Tails, Cream, Storm, and Omochao. I don't find Omochao annoying, but when who's seen as one of the most annoying additions to the character roster is also one of the only personable ones in the game, that's not good.
Jeff Andonuts from Mother bound Sonic Rush would like to know your location. Seriously, all Cream does in that game is disregard personal boundaries, insult her friends and then cheer when they get beaten up by Blaze(or in Amy’s case, they just fly away). The real Cream would have apologized once she noticed she had offended them and at the very least made sure that Knuckles was alright after the rockslide incident, not act all happy-go-lucky about these things. And all this antisocial bs makes Blaze learn about friendship somehow.
@@rainpooper7088 I think Rush alone is what made me dislike Cream. What you said basically sums up all of Cream's purpose in Rush. To be fair, she did kind of had sass in Heroes and actually called on Amy's behavior on a few occasions.
i like the way the IDW comics improved her personality, it feels like she grow up a lot after numerous adventures, not only she's still in love with sonic, but she learned from him, and inspired her to help others and protect her friends, also it may seems that sonic actually feels something for this new version of amy, they have a great chemistry now
Archie comics Amy and IDW Amy are the best versions of Amy fully realized. I've never forgotten one panel where she tells everyone to stop bothering Sonic and Sally on their date. But some people ask why the heck would she support Sonic dating anyone other then her. She admits to still really liking Sonic but overall she wants him to be happy. And Sally makes him happy so she supports it all the way. I think that was such a mature and compassionate thing for her to do. In IDW they took the characteristics of Amy in Forces and ran with it. She organizes the resistance and is a great tactician and leader. She's an awesome character when the right people get their hands on her.
Don't forget! Issue #2 of the IDW Comics shows that Amy loves Sonic for who he is, not for who she wants him to be. She accepts that she can't change him, nor does she want to.
I kind of like more Amy's personality in the Archie Comics because they show her slow but certain growth as a person and acknowledge both her flaws and good traits. I think that in the IDW comics they pushed a little too far too soon from what we knew of her without explaining how it happened. I know the whole "obsessed fangirl" part of her character is part of the humor the creators were going for with Amy, but in most parts of the franchise it is the part that is used the most, and makes It difficult for her character to reach for more without making her fell like some one other than herself. And yes, in IDW she reminds me way too much of Sally (note: I miss her), but maybe if there was a backstory that tells Amy's story between the panels of the games we could ve able to see her in this new light.
Forces had characteristics ? She was nothing but a useless announcer. The fuck is the reason of making her into a hyper competent and caring Mary Sue out of nowhere ? That's not Amy, it's poorman Sally. She's obnoxious as shit.
@@BlackFlash09 Bleeaaargh GTFO with that Sonamy cancer. That issue consists of nothing but them on a stupid sitcom back and forth banter. And don't give me that *sHe lOvEs hIm fOr WhO hE Is nD dOeSnT WaNt To ChAnGe hIm* bs, Sonic still ends up working with them anyway. You fell for Flynn's godawful Sonamy honeytrap.
Amy is a character that I've always had trouble understanding. One minute she'd be compassionate and caring, the next she'd be trying to smash people with her hammer. My younger self had little concept of different writers writing the characters differently. So I just decided that she was crazy. Which is a shame.
the two instance she managed to smash sonic with her hammer, he deserved it, the first moment, in sonic free riders, he attacked eggman without considering amy was literally there and he indeed could have hurt her, the second time, in knight, he forgot about her date with her, and ofc she ain't gonna believe that story he told her, since it's like a pretty unbelievable story
I never watched Sonic but got curious lately and then learned about how the Amy character was disliked. I called it when I said it’s gotta be boys who were hating on the character because they can’t relate to a girl with a huge crush and are looking at it logically, but that’s missing the entire point. An immature girl who’s head over heels with a huge crush isn’t necessarily always going to be completely calm and logical. It’s supposed to be funny but also it’s just the immature girl character being immature and emoting. I watched Naruto but after watching Sonic a little now it reminds me so much of how the boys watching Naruto hated on Sakura so much. As a girl when I was watching Naruto I understood Sakura even though I was exactly like Hinata when I was reading the manga. I never disliked Sakura. It was clear she had strong feelings for Sasuke even if she didn’t yet know him super well. I think it’s difficult to explain but girls usually become attracted to someone because of their demeanor. Which is basically similar to saying girls know what type of person they like, which can equate to values and lifestyle and personality. Sakura liked his calm, cool personality. She seemed to value someone with intellect who maybe felt on a similar level to her. Sure she was immature about it, but she also was a kid and kids obviously can be immature. Hinata, my favorite character, was also head over heels for her crush and essentially gushed over Naruto too. But she was just insecure and very shy so she didn’t openly show her feelings, etc. But if Hinata was as confident as Sakura she may have acted like her because they both had crushes when they were young and immature. (Although arguably Hinata was a bit more mature because she was forced to by her family through strict training to be the next leader and then was rejected by her own family for being “too weak”, all that made her a bit more mature). But characters like Sakura with a mostly happy childhood probably aren’t going to be as mature. So that’s my two cents. I think a girl being immature is fine. But, maybe to get boys to like her too they needed to have her grow out of her starstruck phase a bit. And I think that would be normal too. Girls don’t stay forever in awe after they get to know the person better.
@@narnia1233 Starstruck, yes, not being a complete suicidal moron. There are plenty of girls and women out there who HATED Sakura because her crush NEVER justified her dedication to Sasuke even when he tried to kill her, turned on the village, and all but went on a murder spree. And Hinata's "conclusion" with Naruto not only felt forced, but so, so cheap. There's a reason the treatment of girls in the original franchise is so infamous, and just to boys. And with Amy's "immaturity", there's a difference between being immature and being violently destructive and a danger to others that EVEN A 6-YEAR-OLD HAS TO BE CAUTIOUS AROUND HER! Amy's behavior in heroes was a stalker and a psycho, her Sonic X characterization even had a scene in the Japanese version where she threatened to BEAT UP A KID IF SONIC DIDN'T SHOW HIMSELF! Hate Chris all you want; a kid is still a kid. More importantly, if you really think that behavior is okay, the old saying is to imagine if the genders were reversed. No matter how much you say "it's just girls crushing on boys", remember that if boys did the same thing, it'd be a completely different story. Even if the main folks who dislike her were boys, that just says how unattractive that is; I don't care what your excuse, domestic violence is still domestic violence, stalking is still stalking, entitlement is still entitlement, no matter the gender.
Amy Rose is my favorite Sonic character and to me she's massively underrated and even overlooked (especially when it comes to fan conceptions) I will say I think her immaturity was both her best and worst trait. I think games like Adventure, Adventure 2, Unleashed, Heroes and Zero Gravity used this to its advantage. What I liked about Amy's immaturity was that she saw things differently than other characters, but wasn't completely blind to everything around her. Sonic Adventure being the best example. Sure she's fawning over Sonic, but her first cutscene is her just falling over him in a way a fan would idolize someone they consider an idol, after all she refers to him as her "hero" throughout the game. And showcasing the events of Sonic CD, also shows she not only just misses Sonic, but the sense of adventure he brought to her life. To me that is the perfect example of balancing Amy as a fangirl, but also showcasing a more childlike persona. A person can be a fanboy/fangirl without being insane. Even the moment she meets Sonic face to face her first response is to say "long time no see" and to watch over a Flickie. And while Eggman is launching a missile toward station square her main focus is currently getting a bird to its family, while also focusing on her inner importance as a person. Saving herself and learning to be independent. Even in Sonic Adventure 2 while Amy is thinking about Sonic again (as evident to her fawning about him after Tails saves her from Eggman) her instant response to Tails is "quick I know Eggman is up to no good again" to me, this shows while Sonic is a priority she isn't blind to the horrible stuff Eggman does she just expresses it in a more childlike way. She even showcases this by putting on a brave facade throughout the game, but proves to be ineffective. I also think her "mistake" of Shadow/Silver as Sonic is too overblown, especially since characters like Eggman and GUN also did this! But in terms of Amy upon realizing her mistake she instantly corrects herself, especially in Silver's case where she's visibly seen covering her eyes in embarrassment showcasing she knows she did something wrong. It's one thing if Amy played into them being Sonic until the actual Sonic showed up, but she only makes a mistake for a brief second and is instantly able to correct it. (Unlike GUN who presisted Shadow was Sonic until halfway through the game) In Sonic Heroes, people only ever focus on that scene between her and Team Sonic (yet strangely don't point to the fact Cream the Rabbit nor Big the Cat object to Amy doing it, despite Cream being the voice of reason for Amy) or the fact other teams have other similar reactions (like Rouge just outright accusing Chaotix of going after Eggman treasure and starting a fight with them) however I think the scene was suppose to showcase Amy wanting Sonic to see how much more competent she is, but as with every other team fight doesn't display that well. Also their first glimpse of Sonic was through a newspaper that showed him running away with Chacola Chao and Froggy, that;'s why the decided to fight as a team. (It also baffles me when fans call her only purpose "to be rescued by Sonic" while forgetting any roles where she's not a damsel at all (or even the fact other characters have been damseled just as much such as Tails, Rouge and Cream) especially since we get no input from Big or Cream during cutscene.. However people focus on that too much at the expense of disregarding her notable traits in the game. The fact she's a legit leader to Cream & Big (like motivating them to keep punishing forward during the Hang Castle cutscene) or forming their team to find their missing allies. She even throws in some snarky jabs toward Eggman (such as calling him a bloated baffoon or mustache monkey) I like that while Sonic is her main focus it doesn't take away from acknowledging her friends either, as she treats them with equal priority. Even her combat abilities reflect her new teaming leading position, being able to run at fast speeds and use her own unique abilities. Even in her final cutscene while she's seen chasing Sonic she's seen waving goodbye to Cream and Big because she had already accomplished her goal in helping them.. As a contrast I see Amy's underwhelming gameplay as part of her development, going from slow and inexperienced, but wanting to work on being independent (Sonic Adventure) to now actually achieving speeds to catch up to Sonic and can roll into a ball, dash and have her own abilities (Advance 2 and Heroes) However when her childish personality didn't work, it really didn't work. Sonic Battle, Sonic Rush and Especially Sonic Free Riders. In Sonic Battle I hated how she barely noticed Cream, which is completely against her teamwork with her in Advance 3/Heroes and is so involved with Sonic to the point of excersizing herself to exahustion. Then in Sonic Rush threatening her friends and only being focused on her jealousy, it seemed when the games transitioned to the Dark Age they focused more on making her childlike nature more negatively immature and expressing more tempramental traits. She would occasionally revert back to her old personality, but I feel this is more flanderization than character identity. I think Unleashed was her best as far as Dark Age goes because she's more innocent with her approach to Sonic than aggressive. She even uses her optimism during the end. With Free Riders none of her positive traits persist at all, it completely went back on her Heroes persona and turned her into the oversimplified version people accuse her of. I think from Lost World-IDW Comics showcases a real development with her character. She's now grown more mature with her interactions toward Sonic and with IDW especially takes on a more headstrong and leadership persona. I think using Forces as the outlet to mature her was some nice development. It's also worth noting Amy in Archie Comics was good too, when she had other characters to work with she could prove to be a good character. Especially during Treasure Team Tango with Cream and Blaze the Cat, the latter of which she works surprisingly well with.
I'm seriously digging your long comments, and I like what is written here. Amy's one of my personal favourites as well. I used to find her cute, then annoying, and now likeable.
@DarkSonic180 her character was very well portrayed in IDW.She still has the crush on sonic but maturged enough to lead people and reject sonic's offres for the sake of others.
@DarkSonic180 well,I am not going into this debate,I am too lazy, for me she was portrayed well,if you don't like it it is your opinion and I respect it.
I'm glad someone thinks and understands Amy's character to this degree. She's my favorite as well :) Though, in recent games I'm not very happy with how ..well.."bland" she is. It just isn't Amy. Whether that be Boom, Forces or even IDW, Amy just isn't herself but I guess they wanted to take her character into a more mature approach. I've grown used to it but anything before generations is the Amy I like the most.
Whoever sees Amy as a psycho fan girl, has either never played any of the games or has taken a meme too seriously. As for Amy and the crew being "useless" in Sonic Forces, I will have to disagree. They're fighting an army of Shadow, Chaos and Metal Sonics. Just surviving that is pretty impressive. Remember that Shadow mentioned how those virtual reality clones have all the powers of the originals. That's basically an army of ultimate life forms, gods and the equivalent of skynet.
Yes only that there are so fragile that Classic Sonic and Shadow both casually one shot them like its nothing, Also lets not mention that there prior to the final battle there weren't multible copies but apparently only 1 at the time while Eggman was relying more on Grey scale Egg Pawns that aren't even equipped with weapons. Also never mind how Vector was bitching about them being so overworked with a few Death Egg Robots when Sonic and the Avatar 1 shot one of them before the Metal Sonic fight. And Speaking of Sonic and the Avatar so did they singel handelte take back 80% of the world in a few days after Eggman conquered everything else over a course of 6 months making all the other characters look pathetic compared to the 2 Sonic's and your random Street pickup character. Silver is literally the only one to actually gets to do something by being the reason Infinite failed to destroy one of the Phantom Rubies copies allowing the Avatar to shut down the Sun.
@@rynobehnke8289 Finally somebody else who recognizes it was thanks to Silver that the Avatar got the Phantom Ruby prototype that he/she eventually uses to save all of the resistance. Cause seriously, very few people figured this out because most people don't try to see the good things of Sonic Forces with detail. Also Silver was surprisingly very consistent remaining serious while showing an atitude and his optimistic and realistic views about what was happening during the war whenever he spoke. And let's not forget he was the ONLY one (that wasn't Sonic or the Avatar) who dared to fight Infinite.
I have played every game that Amy was in. Yes she do have personality outside of fan girling over Sonic but people have to realize that from the very start she is madly in love with him to the point she wish to be in danger just to be with him and that also show in SA1 beginning. The only time I say she have some good character is when she's not showing that side which is understandable. After Sa1 it is all about her looking for Sonic.
@@Darkness19Z I mean her actual issue in SA1 wasn't that she wanted to be in danger for Sonic to rescue her as much as it was that normal everyday live bores her to no end (with a few characters can you actually talk to Amy i Station Square before her story starts and if you do will she also complain about being bored to no end. Amy wish for excitement was a few more times used with 2 good examples being Sonic Shuffle in which her ending reveals that her biggest Dream is to be an adventurous Hero like Sonic and Sonic Riders in which she participates at Eggman's extrem Gear tournament just for the excitement. Even her flirting seams to be intentionale be made to annoy Sonic given that Amy never actually gets mad at Sonic's reaction. (as a matter of fact in SA2 is Amy actually more annoyed at being leaved out of the action by Sonic and Tails than she is by Sonic rejecting her love again) The Problem with Amy started pretty much with Sonic X which removes almost all of her likable traits from the games and leaves her as a Housewife with massive temper tantrums and an all consuming love for Sonic. Than was pushed further down with some of the weirder lines in Heroes just here to justify Gameplay elements that were made before the story was written. And With Games like Rush and to a slightly smaller extent Battle was Amy eccentrically being pushed into pur SONIC Insanity. Of Cause Amy was Always in love with Sonic but its quite clear that starting with Sonic X did her obsessive Love become more and more the only trait of hers rather than just one of many that while properly her biggest was still matched by her loyalty to her friends and her love for Action.
@@rynobehnke8289 Mostly true but I wouldn't blame Sonic X for her traits because with Sonic Heroes I feel like her and her team was badly forced in with awful written to insert her in plus with her personality is just bad. I think the reason why she had a good personality in Sa1 was because it was a game with multiply stories that had the characters do there own thing and connect here and there with Sonic's story. I think after Sa1&2 they was done with her and put her on default mode until 06 which made likable by going back to her Sa1 self and repeated back to default mode after that. If they develop her more like they did with Shadow and derailed her it might be understanding but that would be hard, unlike what that did with her in Sonic Boom where they just got rid of all that and just made her a cheerful and caring person with a small taste of class and showed signs/hints of them liking each other for shits and giggles. Hell even the game book of Sa1 even says she's Sonic self-appointed girlfriend. That set some levels right there.
I love this so much, Amy's been my favourite since I was like, a toddler and it makes me so happy to see people defending Amy, she deserves so much better.
In the IDW Sonic comics, Amy's introduction into the series was by her trying to convince Sonic to help the Resistance deal with badnik hordes, which lead to the two of them teaming up against super badniks and Amy coming to respect Sonic's decision to handle the badniks his own way. Later in the series, after the Resistance became the Restoration, Amy became very key in keeping the many different Restoration teams organized. When not busy maintaining the Restoration, Amy has been good in helping to deal with the Metal Virus outbreak more directly.
Amy is a really good character and she can be so much more than just a weird fangirl that the mid 2000s and ESPECIALLY the 2010s emphasize. What i love about the adventure games is that she actually helps sonic and others, convinced gamma of what eggman really is, and told shadow that there are good people out there and deserves another chance. Hell even heroes, she help big and cream find froggy and the chao. Yeah that was the start of her being a bit obsessed with Sonic but at least she still helped people. I really hate the 2010s for what it did to all the characters
@@crashingbasher7376 yeah your right she stopped being too crazy for him starting from lost world. However in my opinion Boom Amy personality can be bit bland sometimes.
@@calebproductions1264 yo Amy in Sonic X sucked in terms of personality. Her love for Sonic was taken to extreme levels of insanity in one episode she tried to place a trap on Sonic and force him to lover her against his will. And she has a BAD temper. I mean BAD, Knuckles in that series may be a hothead but he's not taken very seriously when angered. Amy on the other hand when angered her body literally gets set on fire and shines as bright as the sun. She's like a freaking Yandere in that show she's so aggressive towards everyone including Sonic and her other friends. Amy in X has some good moments like being pretty independent but I only remember her for the bad. Boom Amy is just boring bland, feminist, mama bear with nothing else
I agree, Amy really deserves better! She could be in a new game as her character, not the obsessive fan-girl ( like she used to be ), nor the has-been becoming a non-playable character ( like Tails ). In SA1 for example; she’s a developing her independence and showing her pure and brave heart and caring side, in Sonic Heroes, she’s developing her leader instinct and adventurous side, and in the IDW comics, she’s actually developing her intelligence. That’s what Amy should be! But the problem, is the fact that some people « still » take Amy as a Yandere or as a Sakura wannabe.
While I think Amy being more mature should happen, the whole IDW leadership sally knockoff thing isnt the way to go about it, there was no build up and character development for her to be like Sally, I personally think Tails should've been new leader cuz hes basically a male Sally with Sonic abilities and flight. But I do think Amy should be more mature, just not a Sally type character. I like boom amy's potrayal and even archie's version, archie amy is basically modern amy but without the whole obsessing over sonic gig, because hes with sally, she began to grow out of it and she basically started to become her own, I like how she develops thru Sonic being with someone else, she even said she didnt care who sonic was with as long as he was happy, that shows the development and the good sonic not being with her has done for her, She grew up, thats why I dont want Amy to be with Sonic, Sonic holds her back mentally and emotionally, Him being with someone else will make her mature.
+Brian Alleyne Eh Archie was horrible with Amy until the end. They vocally hated Amy they even got sarcastic with a fan when the fan was asking about Sonamy (it was in one of the letter columns) and they wrote a story where she was selfish by making a wish to be older, and kept pointing out that she was an 8 year old in a 16 year old’s body (there’s even a story where they place her in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL) and they kept her as a minor character for most of the comic’s run. I remember being shocked when they started using her more. She was also obviously replaced by Mina Mongoose to the point you could redraw her as Amy and you would see no difference (minus her getting a jealous boyfriend) at least Sally was her own character.
Amy can be a bit kooky and obsessive, but she is nowhere near the crazy stalker some people make her out to be. At her best she’s also compassionate, willing to lend a helping hand, and occasionally a bit sassy. Can her love for Sonic be annoying at times? Yes, but in my opinion that’s kind of the point.
@@sugamamaproud9810 I guess it's because wherever Sonic is, Amy happens to somehow be in the same place, knowingly or not. Hell, even in SA2 she gets to Prison Island Chaos-knows-how. Sure, we know "why" she's there, but we don't have the "how"
I didn't mind Amy too much in the "dark" era. I mean, sometimes I couldn't stand her but I liked her in the first two Sonic Riders. And while I found her attacking Sonic in Heroes to be forced, it was so contrived, I hardly register it as actual canon. I liked her for the most part in Heroes because I liked seeing her lead her own crew. I like her short temper. I like her "attitude". I like that sometimes she's a bit selfish. But I also like her kind heart. All that together just kinda make her come off as the perfect foil to Sonic. I also like how she was unofficial fourth member of the Sonic Heroes. Honestly, I just miss the days when she had agency in the plot. When she was treated as the hero of her own story. I miss the days when the Sonic cast was more of an ensemble rather than the current situation of the only member of Sonic's friend group that gets screentime being Tails (not that they particularly do him right). It's kinda why I liked the Sonic Boom TV show. It wasn't perfect. And cold be pretty boring sometimes. But it was just nice seeing our four main characters interacting again, y'know.
I agree that Amy in more than just some overly obsessed fan girl. She's a kind, compassionate character who will put others before herself. Even though she can be a little obsessed with Sonic at times. I personally thought the ending of Black Knight was funny, but you know, humor's subjective. Boom Amy is my least favorite adaptation of Amy. Like Shadow, and Knuckles, Amy feels like a completely different character. They made her more girly by having her put her hands on her hips, saying "Ew" to gross things, and being a sassy b***h about everything
@@knuxuki1013 I agree with you boom Amy is boring, All she is rip out of sally arcon just because her love maturity around sonic.Even know sonic himself not mature either in the relationship between him and amy. he always rejected her and never tell her how he feel anyway.😒🙄
Amy is a victim of flanderization and crap writing.. Despite her crush on Sonic. Her strength was her compassion to other characters.. even to robots made by Doctor Eggman... she even stood up to Sonic and stop them from killing gamma. So he is definitely not a fangirl. I mean she the played a role in getting Shadow to intervene in Sonic Adventure 2. Lol. The company and writers are slowly and slowly forgetting what makes their characters special.. the fans new to stomach do not get the chance to see this Amy.. all they see is a fangirl or someone hyper aggressive
I would say it's the opposite, her fangirl side, and passionate crush on Sonic, was what made her unique, while she has many other good qualities like her compassion and kindness, her love for Sonic was what made her memorable and unique, because no other character has that.
Artistic Misfit No she didn’t. She said that she would always stay by Shadow’s side no matter what the world thought of him. A far cry from sacrificing the entire world just to save one person.
@@crashingbasher7376 really cuz Sonic in SA2 saved the whole world from being destroyed, so it's understandable that she'd choose Sonic over the whole world
I can't stop quoting premydaremy(i think) when he said this series needs "balance" From story to character, there needs to be a natural balance to where they feel natural and not forced. *cough*meta era
This video gonna make me cry 😭😭😭 Amy doesn't get enough respect She's my all time favorite character just because of how much character development she's gotten over the years and anyone who's a true Sonic Fan would know I love how IDW Comics portrays her the most!! She's super brave and heroic but still cares alot emotionally ( she could outshine Sonic and the rest if they write her just right! ) She's the perfect Heroine that I always look forward to seeing!
I love Amy Rose, she is a great character, I don't know where people got the creepy stalker vibe from her. in that scene where you showed Amy chasing Sonic it was because he attacked Eggman with her right there and could have hurt her, who wouldn't be upset about that?
I loved the dark age a lot. And I respect the adventure games too. Greatest eras for sonic IMO. They can have their flaws but they were really charming. I don’t think the meta era is exactly bad..but I dislike how it handles the characters and stories, hopefully things will start turning around in the future.
Ok, I want to combine IDW Amy and early Adventure Era Amy's personalities. I think it would make of an interesting dynamic between Sonic and the team. A strong leader + a caring person + mild fangirl? Count me in.
I think that people who like to romantically pair Sonic and Amy are the ones who remember what she used to be like and realize that if they got her characterization right again, she honestly could be written as someone that Sonic might fall in love with. The obsessive stalker personality can be the starting point of a little girl, but then she matures as she did in the Adventure series. Because at her best, Amy is a very good and loving person, capable of standing as a hero in her own right. A person who sees the good in everyone and is able to bring that good out most of the time.
Honestly...I've never had any respect for Amy's character until now. I was one kf the people that only saw her as a psycho fan girl. But you bring up some really good points. I think all of the new portrayals of Sonic characters are parodies of their former selves. But I don't think it's malicious. I think the Sonic Team is trying to go for a more lighthearted humorous style of storytelling because of all the flack they get for making deep stories. I really hope they watch your videos on their characters before they make a new game.
Sonic Battle kinda confirms this: In Rouge's story, Amy hallucinates Sonic fighting with her, and as Rouge, you must fight Amy AND the Hallucination of Sonic. It was that moment where I question her sanity.
@@ivanelugo team sonic racing is a spinoff and it's probably the most solid Sonic game to come out in a while, with a decent portrayal of the characters (except for Sonic and Amy)
@@windandfireproductions5358 I actually liked Shadow's portrayal there, Sonic however was just downright unlikable and started conflict with him for no reason
To be fair to Heroes, Amy only really mentions marriage that once, and Team Rose's goal, at least at first, is to find Sonic, because they believe he's the one who kidnapped Chocola and Froggy, (although it was most likely Metal Sonic or a Shadow Android made to look like Sonic) and who's better at finding Sonic then Amy? But I Agree, that one cutscene, taken out of context, does paint Amy in a bad light
Amy has always been one of my favorite characters and I've always felt that she got too much hate. I feel like every game after heroes she just constantly got shafted and not being that relevant. If only she had more than one stage in Shadow's game. Would have been cool to see. I feel she was always just treated as comic relief. But there's so much more to her. I liked her because I see her as an underdog, who isn't the strongest but keeps up with hard work and determination. Playing as her in the Advance games were my favorite parts. And she's always been one of, if not the most broken character in some Sonic games. Adventure 2 Multiplayer, Sonic heroes, the Advance games. No matter what opponents she's faced, she's never backed down. And honestly, some times I feel that she has more of a heart than even Sonic himself. The moment where she convinces Shadow to save the earth is a moment I feel that doesn't get talked about often. I'm still mad that Chris stole that moment from her in Sonic X lol. I always wondered how Lisa Ortiz would have handled that scene. I just think that she deserves a chance to really shine one day. She has so much potential. Her magic power, her tarot cards, it was only in Sonic X, but she was shown in the Japanese version to be able to use telepathy. I know many people have had an issue with her character, but I don't think she's all bad. One game that isn't talked about much where I feel she's decent is in Sonic Chronicles. She still liked Sonic, but wasn't afraid to speak her mind if she disagreed with him. I always wondered how itd be if she were like a friendly rival to him. Her dynamic with other characters would be so interesting to see too. After reading Sonic Universe, seeing her interact with Knuckles was great! And I thought it was sweet in a way how she encouraged him to keep going and Knuckles being like an older brother figure. And she doesn't interact much with Shadow after SA2. I feel that their dynamic would be so interesting, not because of love or anything, but I always felt that aside from Rouge, she is one of the few characters who appears to wholeheartedly believe in him regardless of the circumstances, and I think that's awesome. But like many other things, it's not expanded on. So far in IDW, it seems like her and Rouge would be great friends if they got along more. Regarding her relationship with Sonic, I think it could go either way. I wouldn't lose sleep if it never happened, but I think I'd be interested to see it. But, I think instead of having them not date and keep the dynamic, I think itd be better to allow Amy to fall in love with others, but it seems Sega won't allow it. I think it would add more to her character as a potential story if she tried to get over Sonic. But it seems like Sega would never allow that. Lastly, I've always wanted to see her get a super form. She would probably lose her uniqueness and it'd probably never happen since it's established that only male hedgehogs can go super. But, I've always had this joke in my head that if she achieved it she'd finally be fast enough to keep up with sonic, and just imagining that in my head is hilarious lol. But Sega has said that only male hedgehogs can go super, so I guess I'll never see it happen. She'd basically be like Thor but without the lightning since she's the only character that actually fights with a weapon. It's not a huge deal breaker for me though. Anyway, this is kind of a ramble, but seeing one of my favorite sonic characters being flanderized just hurts. Hopefully at least one of you enjoyed this long read. But I really hope she can get more development or something one day. She absolutely deserves it. I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts on her though!
@@donathan2933I guess boom Amy is fine but she's just so off I don't know how to describe it but she doesn't have that Amy passion anymore not even the Sonic crush gags are used offend
I think her stubbornness and obsessiveness actually aids in how she helps others, examples being when she finds Birdie. She could've easily thought "This situation is too much, it's just a bird", but she is *determined* to help it. Same with Silver and Gamma. Once she finds something that she can put her effort into helping, there's no stopping her unless she realizes their motives are morally wrong.
Thank you for this Video it literately made my day, Amy has always been my favorite character, and it's totally not fair for people to hate her when it's not Amy's fault that she's written in certain ways in some games. Amy is awesome, we just need more of that awesomeness!
I agree, and I’d like to add that Amy also had a really fun gameplay. I really enjoyed playing as her in SA1 (my one critique would be that I wish her run speed was faster). She had a really unique gameplay that really marked her as her own character. Even in Heroes she had a few tricks that other speed characters didn’t, and I really liked that. Her gameplay always portrayed her as the girl who can do more than you’d expect her too, and I miss that.
Amy has always been my favorite character growing up, since not only she’s the most relatable, but our initials are the same, and even our last names are very similar.
In my older brother's college graduation ceremony, there was a student named Amy Rose. Me and my little brother looked at each other like: "We're two of the few people here who get it.".
I actually think that, one way that Sonic 2006 might've been able to be fixed (or at least, made less bad) would've been to swap Elise for Amy. She doesn't have to be a Princess, but the main beats of Elise's story and backstory could be intact in her. If they were going to write a romance, they could've used the character already slotted for that role. Sonic's story would've been about Sonic and Amy spending a large chunk of time together and both finally taking a step forward in their relationship. It probably would've added a lot to Sonic's characterization to realize that he was actually falling for Amy. Amy meanwhile would finally be able to spend some time with Sonic and even get to know him better. They could've had their cake and eat it too. I mean, the game's story retcons itself in the end. I think that that would've been a much more poignant and impactful ending than what they had (which, don't get me wrong, I do actually like Sonic 2006's story a good bit). And if they didn't want to tie themselves to two characters who are actually in love, well, like I said, the story get's retconned by the end.
Amy actually is my fav female character from sonic because of adventure era. She's the girl that even though not being powerful like the male counter parts, still went out of her way to fight against eggman to protect someone, and did not try to be manly and fisically strong, using more her power of being kind, and understanding of others to do good for others, even if this other is an eggman's robot and even if she had to go agaisnt sonic! That moment in adventure really made me fall in love with the character, because she was not just a fangirl running after sonic. She was a strong, kind and uplifting girl who happened to love sonic. She's the kind of person who would be of great help for someone with depresion. Oh and let's not forget that she managed to get in alcatraz, and free sonic.

Wow... Ngl, as someone who's introduction to the series was Sonic X as a kid (yikes, I know), this really gave me a new perspective on who she was supposed to be. Thanks for reintroducing me to someone who should have been one of my favorite characters, mate.
This is why I like the "Hanging Out" comic on Deviant Art so much, it's written by a fan who understands the character (though a few are a bit crazy) and it's why I really enjoyed the Christmas special animation for sonic mania
I watched this comic recently and i laugh a whole lot in some parts. It's exagerated but it shows Amy in a more casual way, i also love her interactions with Metal Sonic.
I kinda wish sega would expand upon the fortun telling side of her character from cd just to make her more interesting the japanese manuals for sonic 1 2 3 and knuckles and cd have so much that they should expand upon the whole idea of amy loving mystical thing tarrot cards would be interesting plus give her the character development she had in the adventure and ya all set and mabey even add some of the stuff from the ian flynn archie comics where she learns mystic melody and uses it to help knuckles locate shards of the master emerald faster to expand upon her character mabey even a bit of idw
Literally the only reference to her fortune telling prowess after CD was in Sonic Chronicles. One of her moves has her use her Tarot cards to "pull a bad future" for an enemy, cursing them (a MASSIVE luck debuff).
@@SSBBPOKEFAN Actually its also in Battle, the Olympics, heroes and Rush (that's what her Sonic radar is), and even Forces references it with her dreaming of Sonic still being okay.
I've always loved Amy Rose as a character. It's frustrating when they force 90% of her interactions to be with Sonic because that's never when her character fares best. Her compassionate, optimistic nature is best set against characters like Shadow and Silver who are struggling to do the right thing. I've always felt that she'd reach her full potential if she got over her crush on Sonic and focused on being her best self. I know the Sonic Crush is her gimmick and all, but a girl can dream, right?
I swear if one day Sega decides to actually deeply develop amy's character and she actually get over her crush for Sonic and maybe like somone else. The fanbase will go BATSHIT INSANE, especially people who ship sonamy.

I should mention Amy can keep up with sonic and shadow then also brawl it out with knuckles in terms of strength making her potentially one of the strongest sonic characters

Not even mentioning why I can see people looking up to her: she taught herself multiple superpowers! What a better hero than that? ...people do tie it up into the stalker thing but still, admirable divorces from motives and, actually, it isn't a that bad a motive as she isn't actually a stalker... exactly.
Wow you actually changed my opinion of this character because I always used to see her like the modern writers see her. But now that I see her she is a sweet girl who has a kind heart and a big crush on sonic. Congrats man.
06 amy was GOING to be her best interpretation. Her cut story leaked on to youtube a few years back and she was robbed the worst out of all the other playable characters. She was supposed to go through tropical jungle, white acropolis, crisis city, and flame core with blaze and silver after she saved elise and reunited with them post silver's fight with sonic (also silver was supposed to fight sonic AND amy, silver's unused voice clips prove it). She had a lot of plot incorporation, but because blaze's never got finished, amy meeting her would have been a huge plot hole (cuz of rush) so they had to cut amy out completely. Such a shame., especially since they had other attacks and stuff planned for her as well. Also, I'm shocked you didn't talk about sonic battle or sonic chronicles. Sonic battle was ABSOLUTELY the worst amy we've ever gotten next to free riders. Also! AMy is TWELVE. Of course she's going to be boy crazy at this age! Cut her some slack. After adventure 1, 2, 06 and unleashed she's become really freaking mature for her age! If we could get 06 amy and unleashed amy back, i'd be forever grateful.
Could you please provide a link to the evidence for Amy's original role in 06 I have heard about it before but never saw any evidence no matter were I looked for it. Also while Battle Amy is truly insane should we not forget that Battle made everyone's worst trait oversize to make it more clear what traits Emerl gets from them. So Sonic is more of a dick, Rouge is more selfish, Amy is insane, Knuckles is really simple minded, Tails is super shy and Shadow is far more brooding that usual.
Maybe in the next 3D game they could maybe have a mix of a homing attack and her Piko Piko hammer as sign of her getting stronger? I also wouldn't say no to her appearing in the next 2D game by Evening Star (Whitehead and Co.'s studio name) whenever that will happen. Also with you saying about her theme, along with saying about bring back the other characters and make them playable again. Now I think they should also bring back the character themes! Either use old the ones or maybe go for new ones. Possibly using the same old Adventure lyrics, but with new music - like SA1 to SA2 - or just totally 100% new. I'm not fussed so long as they're good. There really did seem to be that little bit of extra care that went into those earlier games. Like with the Station Square hub world, and all the little subplots that were happening along side the main story if you took the time to talk to people. That poor kid's mother trapped in the neon claws of Gamblor. 4:56 awww man, that abit. Whatever to the little fox who could?
For reworked themes I came across these recently Found My Way: Abit of a reworked and expanded Believe In Myself - set to pace more in line with SA2's rendition - with throwbacks to the original in the lyrics (and SA1 music) but with abit of changes here and there in the verses. Also a brand new chorus, which has has nods back to the original lyrics. I wouldn't say no it being brought on as Tails' next theme th-cam.com/video/m-6gqYtwPBE/w-d-xo.html My Sweet Passion (EuRosy Mix): lyrically its the same My Sweet Passion, but now with the stupidly upbeat and infectious eurobeat keyboards. Just don't play it while driving. Could have easily been Amy's theme for Team Sonic Racing as she disappears into the horizon like a highway star. th-cam.com/video/YqaWa_-_kfY/w-d-xo.html
Sonic characters are always exaggerated when people try to describe their character. Shadow the edge lord, Amy the psychopath, Silver the pathetic little bi- point is, you know what I mean.
Ture, shadow not edgelord, Amy not psychopath, they should saying on rosey the rascal from Archie sonic comic and she Amy evil counterpart along evil sonic and his crew.
When people don't objectively analyze these characters, they only see the bad parts like Tails being an annoying Luigi, Amy being being an obsessive girl, Knuckles being a dumb as fuck jog, and many more examples. That or they lie because they dislike X characters and wants masses to do the same.
ive always loved amy , she is my favorite female characer in the sonic franchise but yeah she deserves more ! and i like her psycho side sometimes its funnny but she is more appreciable as a nice and sweet girlx3
I personally thought about how to change amy in remakes of older games. The original SA1 already got her pretty good, but I think it could be done better. So when I wrote up a concept of how she should be overhauled, I had the brainwave to do what heroes did, but in the positive sence. Multiply the concept by 10 and give it some crack. Basically, I made it so that she actively looks up to sonic and tries to bridge the gap between him and her, having started to learn moves sonic uses(to explain why she can perfectly use them later) and have her fight a larger scale fight where her quest for the birds safety is just a smaller part, generating curage out of desperation because she has to do it or else stuff aint looking so hot. And that gives her the nessesary motivation to fill her role in SA2. She is supposed to be the heart of the cast who is never too afraid to jump over her shadow when the situration calls for it and I would want it to mean something in the long term. Just like I would want Shadows death and characterarc to mean a lot and also the rivalry between Sonic and Knuckles.(this is not a shameless plug btw, because I did not find anyone yet to pick up the idea and work with me on remakes. When I say concepts, I really just mean ideas of how to improve on a series that should be great, but is in shambles)
@@KevinKess Well, I would basically erase her bigger obsession with sonic and I would introduce a point of her not having real friends at first(mostly because she is mostly seen as a bother inuniverse) and thus, it would mean the world for her that she later finds such a good friend in cream. Just something deeper than the back and fourth between "I would gladly beat up sonic to force him into marriage"(I look at you, heroes) and "I am a smol girl who is nice"
I am not a big fan of your Idea because it takes away form Amy's actual arc in Adventure and that is that she just like Sonic starts out thinking she her self can't do anything and relays on Sonic for help but after the Egg Carrier is her bird friend still missing his/her parent and so she this time sets out own her own to help because there is no Sonic around to help. And Than At the end of her story does her Angler overtake her fear against Zero after attacking the bird causing her to actually fight back for ones and in the waking of her victory realizing that she isn't depend anymore on Sonic and had the strength to fight against Zero all along and her own fear and lack of self confidence hold her back. With her at the and setting out to make Sonic now also see her as more than the weak damsel he has to save.
Because it somehow makes sence that Amy believes she is useless on her own, yet is never afraid to the point of actually being in danger and she is constantly trashing stuff even before Zero shows up.(Who she could only beat because of the stage, so the point of "she realizes she could have done it whenever" is kinda fake.) I honestly rather substitude it for an arc that both makes more sence of who she is later and also makes her less annoying later at the same time.
@@lpfan4491 What do you mean with she is never afraid? She constantly panics when ever Zero appears, she doesn't even try to protect the bird her self and instead bring it to Sonic so that he can protect it. Amy wouldn't do anything out of her own prior to protecting Gamma from Sonic and Tails because just like latter with the setup for her final boss fight does protecting her friends take priority of her fear and the like for Amy. And what do you mean with her trashing things before Zero shows up? Her story literally starts with Zero attacking her and the bird the only prior time you can see her is as an NPC in one of the other stories were she complains about how bored she is. Also sure in therms of Gameplay did Amy need the electric fence to fight Zero but the fact is that this is mostly there for Gameplay given that logically many of her levels have elements that could just as well take care of Zero but don't because we need Gameplay to happen. I seams less like her arcs make no sense and more like you simply want her to be an action hero from day 1.
Sonic Team is Guilty for a lot of inconsistencies with Amy's character and they dropped the ball, HARD, when they refused to have Amy as Sonic's girlfriend when SEGA's Character Division requested for Sonic to have a canon girlfriend. Sonic Team's whole philosophy of Sonic being a free spirit as free as the wind and can't be tired in a serious relationship is heavily flawed and misguided. Why and how? Because Sonic Team truly fails to understand that a person doesn't lose their free spirit by being in a meaningful romantic relationship. The opposite happens. Their free spirit becomes stronger, more active and more meaningful with a purpose because now they have someone with whom they truly can share their time and free spirit with; a complement and support with whom they can feel whole and complete with. Sonic may have his best friend Tails and sometimes Knuckles, but that's not the same as having a compatible female love interest and girlfriend that shares and supports Sonic's views, beliefs and lifestyle. Amy does and that's why she loves Sonic and she doesn't want to change Sonic. Amy's love for Sonic isn't some mere crush that so many fans want to downgrade it as. Ian Flynn, the head writer of IDW Sonic, confirmed this when he explained why Sonamy (Sonic and Amy Shipping) works and would be perfect for the Sonic franchise and for the Sonic comics. The only problem is SEGA of Japan's idiotic stubbornness and being too attached to outdated traditions that don't work, one them being having Sonic stay single forever. Seriously, what heterosexual male in his right mind wants that? They might as well not have given Sonic a gender and make him a gender-less worm. I found that many, but not all, Japanese writers don't know how to portray romances and relationships in their games, mangas and animes for that matter. Often times they try to portray it through their symbolism, on occasions rooted in their Japanese traditions. But sometimes it doesn't translate well when seen by the American and non-Japanese audiences. Sonic Team could have done so much more with Amy's character if they had listened to SEGA's Character Division from the beginning in making Amy Rose as Sonic's canon girlfriend. Look how great Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are together as a couple and as a team. Everyone all over the world loves them, because they're not only a couple, but a team and Mickey isn't afraid to stand side-by-side with Minnie. That's what SEGA's Character Division wanted for Sonic and Amy from the beginning because Disney succeeded in that with Mickey and Minnie. Sonic Team missed out on great opportunities between Sonic and Amy because they're so stuck on useless traditions and outdated overused trends and jokes that fans all over the world are tired of. And that infamous scene in Sonic Generations when Sonic put his right hand in Amy's face to hold her back from hugging him was met with tremendous backlash and criticisms that Sonic Team received from both reviewers and gamers. And what's worse is that fans who hate Amy's character have been using that as ammunition for falsely claiming that Sonic doesn't have feelings for Amy at all. It was confirmed that Sonic was completely out of character in that scene and Sonic Team never made that mistake again. If Sonic Team had listened and made Amy as Sonic's official girlfriend from the beginning, it would have prevented all of the shipping wars that took place among tens of thousands of Sonic fans for years, even now. I lost count of how many fans, story and comic writers and freelance animators have argued in blogs, forums, videos, websites, and social media over who Sonic should have been paired with. Funny thing is, Sonic Team confirmed and stated in an interview with Disney in March 2005 that Sonic is romantically interested in Amy Rose. However, their portrayal of Sonic's and Amy's interactions in the games made by Sonic Team sometimes seems to contradict their claim. Die Hard fans of Sonic SatAM and Archie Sonic for years wanted Amy Rose replaced with Sally Acorn, a non-canon cartoon character created by DiC Entertainment, as the lead female protagonist and Sonic's love interest. There's no shipping wars for Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse because they're a canon couple and Sonic Team can learn from this if they learn to let of go of outdated traditions, overused trends and jokes that don't work. So far, IDW Sonic has been the only printed media that's done Amy's character tremendously deserved justice that Sonic Team failed to do. The only time Sonic Team did Sonamy a relative amount of justice was when they made the anime Sonic X. And I love how this time, in IDW Sonic, it's Sonic who by issue #2, started to notice Amy and little by little wanting to be more around and near her. Even Neo Metal Sonic had to acknowledge how much Amy Rose has grown and matured. I don't know if Sonamy will be fully blossomed in IDW Sonic, but it's already been confirmed that Sonic in IDW Sonic is romantically interested in Amy Rose and Ian Flynn has been writing her character beautifully, and Sonic Team could take lessons from that and apply that to their games with regards to Amy Rose and her interactions with Sonic.
@@rainpooper7088 Wrong. Bad writers and bad story planning kill potentially good stories and shows. Adding a moderate amount of romance between characters in a story is never bad when done right and when it's not overemphasized or exaggerated. There's been plenty of stories, shows and a couple mangas and animes that have done this because of careful forethought and planning. If everything is just action, action, action, fighting, fighting, fighting, and nothing else to show for, that becomes boring after a while for many people because there's no dimensions to the story or characters and the plot overall becomes flat and predictable.
@@superhedgehog6447 It was already established by Sonic Team that Sonic has romantic feelings for Amy Rose and no one else. There's no Shadamy, Silvamy, Sonaze or Sonally in the main Sonic universe established by Sonic Team and SEGA of Japan. Sonally was a thing during the Sonic SatAM TV run and the first 230 issues of Archie Sonic before SEGA of America ended that shipping by issue 230 of Archie Sonic. In IDW Sonic, Sonamy is very tamed and not forced and Amy's and Sonic's interactions with each other in IDW is something Sonic Team can seriously learn from. Moderate romance in Sonic games doesn't have to be forced or exaggerated, and it can be done right if Amy is given more maturity and growth to her character like how Ian Flynn did it in IDW Sonic. How the fanbase reacts to it depends on which canon or non-canon couple they ship. There are fans who ship Sonic and Blaze despite the canon fact that Sonic never expressed any romantic interest in Blaze in either the canon games or IDW Sonic. In Sonic Rush, when Amy confronted Blaze about why she's searching for Sonic, Blaze made it verbally clear to Amy that she's not interested in Sonic in any romantic way; this was Sonic Team's way of saying there is no Sonaze. And Blaze is frequently seen with Silver or looking for Silver to spend time with him. Some fans ship Amy with Shadow despite the fact that Sonic Team never made this pairing and Amy never expressed any romantic interest in anyone else other than Sonic. A number of fans took that one moment in Sonic Adventure 2 when Amy had accidentally mistaken Shadow for Sonic and much later in the game reasoned with Shadow and got him to do the right thing and fulfill his promise to the late Maria and went with it to say Shadamy exist when officially it doesn't. It was the same case with Silver when the same thing happened in Sonic 06 before that game was removed from the canon timeline by Sonic Team and SEGA of Japan. Some ship Shadow with Rouge despite the canon fact that Rouge has a crush on Knuckles and not on Shadow. Basically, Knuckles and Rouge have something akin to Batman and Catwoman.
@@price7498 Sonic's behavior and actions towards Amy changed drastically in issue 2 of IDW Sonic after Amy told him she loves him and why she loves him without forcing him to accept her feelings or to go out on dates with her. And immediately after her confession, Sonic offered her the chance to join him on his adventures, but she declined, stating her responsibilities to the resistance and the people took priority and that they need her there. And since that issue, Sonic has kept in contact with Amy, kept tabs on her activities, wanting her to go on missions with him much to her surprise, encouraging and comforting her when she needs it, being quick to respond to her calls when she needs him or even when she wanted to check up on him. There's been a lot of subtle Sonamy moments throughout IDW without it being forced or exaggerated and its has been a given a nice mild build up that fans can appreciate. Amy, in both the canon games and IDW, was always honest and genuine about her love for Sonic, unlike Boom Amy who always hides her love for Sonic instead being honest about it with both herself and Boom Sonic. Boom Amy is a tsundere and Boom Sonic has feelings for Amy, but like his canon counterpart, he's too afraid to confess his feelings to Amy, and both Sonic and Amy get jealous when someone else shows interest in the other.
I've had a headcanon that Sonic quietly turned Amy down sometime between the Classic games and SA1, but they did that 'I still wanna be friends' thing and ever since have been in more of a big brother-little sister relationship. Although secretly, Amy hopes that at some point she'll convince her 'darling Sonic' to try the whole relationship thing properly.
To anyone wanting to get a good opinion on the Sonic characters, ESPECIALLY Amy, listen to the fans, not the critics. Because unlike the critics the fans actually play the games and listen to the characters. I'm betting my life that's what critics do. Good job CI-D. Another character that deserves the spotlight.
Sega should really listen to the fans, but for real this time, no one wants to see Green Hill, Classic Sonic, the Wisps, or any of this bullshit anymore. We want the characters, story and world we love to be back.
Watching this sonic series has made me feel bad They're great videos, I love watching them but it exposes how much the newer games have butchered our favorite characters that or making some newer generations liking the characters for the wrong reasons, then the fanbase has a huge divide (even though it has one already lmao)
the community is so divided and disrespectful to each other, I mean, if someone likes something that he doesn't, then he tells them that they are the cancer of the franchise and that their had shit taste . SEGA's main problem is the one that always tries to make fans happy, but the fans are so divided that they will never be happy with something, they don't know what they really want and they are always trying to attack each other
Amy's had a rocky ride in 3rd Party. Edit: Now that I think about it, it would've made more sense for Amy to be the resistance leader compared to Knuckles. Since Knuckles is more physical, and a loner. While Amy is clearly more social, and knows how to bring people together.
Amy Rose is My Favorite Sonic Character! She's cute, sweet, pure, and awesome! She is very underated, a character that deserves more Love than hate! She has done many great things in the Sonic Series. And she has also grown as a character, she was in the damsel like role once upon a time. But she really has come far since then. Amy has become very independent, despite the fact that she's only 12. She helps Sonic in his adventures, Amy is an insperation to me. I'm glad that I'm a fan of hers, it's a blessing to be honest. And I will be a Fan of Amy Rose for the rest of my Life!!
She like middle, but she is underrate thro. I tire people feel sorry sonic when down her, even their nothing wrong his amy unlike scouge. His actully love and care about him, even her love for sonic any bad, it just people exaggerate alot. Even not big deal.😐😑😒
Thank you for showing off the positives of Amy and pointing out (as you do with other characters) that there's room for her to keep growing, consistently with the foundation that has already been laid.
I think it'd be neat if you did some character analysis on IDW comics' character portrayals, since almost everyone feels like interesting 3 dimensional characters, especially Amy! She's still our cute but fierce ball of kindness and fangirling but she's also brave, calm, and a leader, she even proves herself as a very capable fighter too. If you just want to see Sonic characters written extremely well, the comics are well much worth a read. And heck, i'm only 8 chapters in
I’ve always seen Amy as that one girl next door character that the main character only sees as a friend, in this case, Sonic. I’d definitely say she’s matured over the years and I do wonder what they’d do with her if they *actually* gave her more canonical backstory. I mean, she has god damn occult powers kinda like P5’s Chihaya but Amy did it first. I’m pretty sure she believes in fate and all that but, I do believe Amy has gotten some anger management issues over the years, mainly during the colors era, which is why she has outbursts like she has. However, I do have to say that I do kinda like how they portrayed Amy in Forces. If they merged Adventure Amy, parts of Heroes Amy where she was a good leader and helped Cream and Big and Forces Amy with her maturity and humor, I would be happy. No, I don’t like Forces, but Amy in Forces was pretty good imo. I think she was also pretty good in Sonic Battle but, my memory is kinda bad when it comes to Battle. I hope that, one day, Amy gets the recognition and development she deserves. And that it sticks.
7:40 Vector did counter that. Got anymore examples? 7:39 Needed a reason to be in the game. 7:37 Amy might've taken being called a kid by Vector as an insult. Weirdly, it is after the Babylon Rouges were specifying calling Vector the "biggest kid in Kindergarten", where Vector's reaction to Amy afterwards might've been there to be for humor. 7:41 Her tone didn't sound violent. Assertive, sure. Though I do hope Vector gets a place to stay the night after he got nothing out of the venture. Not just spending the day with two "cuties." Vector was the most interesting character there. To be fair, there were moments when Team Rose was sticking up to the random robot on Team Dark for running it into the ground. Though to be fair to Team Dark, it appeared to be the same random robot of Eggman we've seen before with a blue paintjob, and not Omega. Guess it would've been out of character for them. Still, there's that moment. Honestly, a lot of the conversations in Free Riders consisted of trash-talk/bickering anyway, or at least felt like that. Coupled with how unremarkable the story as a whole felt (felt like nothing was being achieved, nor felt like there were any character moments at the very least), her attitude didn't really stick out there for achieving the bare minimum of Amy in a story "just there." Presentation from the game made it all the more so. Still, I wouldn't have minded more. I did like the moment where Jet insisted on redo when he won because of Wave's tampering, at the very least this time the World Grand Prix isn't a no holds barred one. Or maybe it was an actual character moment! In the final mission of mission mode (which takes place after the main story) of Sonic Riders, if you get the gold medal, he has no regrets racing in a fair match. What was I talking about, again? Oh right! Free Riders. Even if that were the case, many others don't really regard Free Riders for its story, but of course its Kinect controls. Outside of "worst Sonic games" videos, it is rarely talked about beyond its controls. It's actually the least reviewed Sonic game ever, with no review even spanning more than 15 minutes. I've even played the game myself to see what it was like, personally. Let's play here: th-cam.com/video/sXsfbrFC5fo/w-d-xo.html I do believe it would've been much better if its camera centered on and followed you for the most consistent movement possible, because the game does have that in itself. Here's one example: th-cam.com/video/cVIabL-rOwI/w-d-xo.html You should be looking at Knuckles in that game, where almost every time he speaks he is snarky in tone. I'm not joking.
The exchange between amy and Team Sonic is literally the best part about the story of free riders, just because knuckles trashed her with a single line instead of doing it like every other conversation in the modern era that goes on, and on, and on with the trash talk and just does not feel genuine as a result
@@lpfan4491 Most of the game felt like trash talk. Is it the line saying it wouldn't even be a warm-up. Vector was kind of funny at parts. Almost every line from Knuckles in Free Riders was oddly snarky.
Adventure era and Classic era are my favorite portrayals of Amy. I thought it was really sweet that Amy went out of her way to protect the bird, and to be honest, I was surprised at how likable of a character she was. I’ve always loved Classic Amy since I first played Sonic CD, but mainly it’s because her design is super cute.
It’s weird because in the Archie Comics she kept her original design from the dream cast Until issue #79 she wanted to become a freedom fighter but was considered to young to join so using a power ring she wished herself to be older so in the comics Amy is literally an 11 year-old in a 17 year-old body
0:12 play the whole game, she isn't attacking sonic for no reason why chose that scene, she's doing that because sonic put her in danger Otherwise she wouldn't have done that
Of all the Sonic characters, Amy and Tails are the characters I relate to the most. Mainly because of their ways of admiring Sonic Boom!Amy returns that essence of the character that goes beyond being in love with Sonic and knowing that they have changed the dynamic between the two of them gives me hope to return all the potential that she has
8:56 Yes ofc shes one of the most important characters! Yes maybe shes sometimes going crazy about Sonic, but pls Guys, she is in love with him, love makes sometimes people blind. But when we're not looking at that, SHE'S ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT HEROES OUT THERE! And good santence here - 9:00 👌💕 Thx for making this video! ^^♡
Love is as mysterious to me as it is to metal sonic, but I'll still Cheer Amy and all the other Sonic characters to have proper character development in the future.
I'm gonna be the devils advocate for Amy in the dark age as in the examples where she gets pissed at sonic for understandable reasons. It shows she won't put up with his shit like missing a date or attacking egg man knowing she was there. There is a fire in that Amy I miss. Yes she's a kind soul who redeems 3 characters but she's also strong in her own right and won't put up with people's attitudes. Menwhile, in the modern games she is nothing. She is nothing but a background character easily forgotten. And if there is one thing Amy is not its forgettable.
I miss the way Amy used to be. Bring back Adventure era Amy.
Check out the IDW comics, shes basically a better version of her Adventure self there.
Yes she is better in the idw
Yes. Same. Adventure amy is amazing .
But not Sonic Heroes Amy. Shudders.
Bring back sonic adventure period. All characters were better in the adventure era and I mean ALL. Sonic included
To be fair, Amy had a right to be pissed at Sonic at the end of Black Knight. She finally landed a date, and was ditched.
Right? I'd be fuming.
Phantom Drags well problem was something suck sonic in there
@@bradhedgehog12 yeah but Amy said that was lame excuse for ditching the date. She obviously didn't believe him
The story arguably hints that the whole thing was a dream caused by Sonic blacking out from Amy's years of physical and emotional abuse, which would mean that Amy herself made Sonic late for their date with her reckless thoughtlessness.
I mean, it's okay to be mad but hitting your boyfriend is abuse...
To be honest I prefer how IDW comics currently have her written. She likes sonic but has her own goals and wants with a side of spunk and energy
Very much yes. Shes a leader and everything
Sonic even offered her to join, and she refused.. and it was believable
Nope, I think she should change but the IDW way is not it, the tactical leader bullshit feels forced
@@gamingwithdream2005 I think it about her caring side. Y'know?
Also there hasn't been a new GOOD
3D sonic game in years the only thing that came out was team sonic racing last year and that was dead on arrival. Point is to me the meta era is the dark age and the dark age is the meta era.
And also I agree there is nothing wrong with showing Amy's diffrent sides of her personality
@@forestreflection2066 I wholeheartedly agree with literally everything you just said
@@forestreflection2066 Finally someone speaking the truth! 🙌😃

Edit: It seems I’ve started a war
Whoaaa didn't know that until now lol
it's a fun little inclusion
why would she be mad tho

@@Eman02kG ohhh alright. thanks
The fact that Sega has managed to severely misinterprete just about every character now is tear-inducing
(See Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening)
Now, with a cast as big as Sonic's, it's gonna be hard to make multiple quality games that feature all of them as playable; it just ain't gonna work.

Kind of sad that Sega forgot about that, we never get to see her use it most of the time
Sounds like she could use that projection for other stuff
Sounds bad, thank God they drop it
@@alanwott8226 OH GOD
Sounds like a Theory....
A..........
Personally, I have always like Amy, enough to actually consider her my favorite character in the Sonic franchise... and best girl too. XD
The thing with Amy is that her character concept is pretty good and relatable to both boys and girls because despite some of her flaws, she represents the good in all of us, and that to be a hero, you do not need any fancy superpowers... Only the desire to do what is right and a strong heart to resist the temptation of revenge and instead forgive those who did awful things in the past. (Like she did when saving Metal Sonic in Mania Adventures)
What Amy needs is not to have her character changed or modified but rather, to use what is already there and focus on her positive aspects.
I agree she is my favorite too
And Cream is a pretty unnecessary character.
(A lot of fanfics can write her better lol)

To be fair, "Sonic Free Riders" couldn't get MOST of the characters. The only ones who weren't assholes were Tails, Cream, Storm, and Omochao. I don't find Omochao annoying, but when who's seen as one of the most annoying additions to the character roster is also one of the only personable ones in the game, that's not good.

Sonic Rush would like to know your location. And all this antisocial bs makes Blaze learn about friendship somehow.

i like the way the IDW comics improved her personality, it feels like she grow up a lot after numerous adventures, not only she's still in love with sonic, but she learned from him, and inspired her to help others and protect her friends, also it may seems that sonic actually feels something for this new version of amy, they have a great chemistry now
Sonic boom too?
@@dogmercy2813 Yeah, but amy was pretty take charge
I thought the same thing too until I read the comics and found she just another version of Sally
@Holden The Gamer yeah Amy there is also just a fucking Mary Sue. She's boring as hell in the IDW
@Holden The Gamer I still don't like her that much. IDW Amy is just Sally minus the character development and a personality
And yes, in IDW she reminds me way too much of Sally (note: I miss her), but maybe if there was a backstory that tells Amy's story between the panels of the games we could ve able to see her in this new light.
she's a simp lol
Forces had characteristics ? She was nothing but a useless announcer. The fuck is the reason of making her into a hyper competent and caring Mary Sue out of nowhere ? That's not Amy, it's poorman Sally. She's obnoxious as shit.

Amy is a character that I've always had trouble understanding. One minute she'd be compassionate and caring, the next she'd be trying to smash people with her hammer. My younger self had little concept of different writers writing the characters differently. So I just decided that she was crazy. Which is a shame.
I mean, you could just imagine she has a never ending period. That's hell.
DogMercy yup
the two instance she managed to smash sonic with her hammer, he deserved it, the first moment, in sonic free riders, he attacked eggman without considering amy was literally there and he indeed could have hurt her, the second time, in knight, he forgot about her date with her, and ofc she ain't gonna believe that story he told her, since it's like a pretty unbelievable story
(Unlike GUN who presisted Shadow was Sonic until halfway through the game)
In Sonic Heroes, people only ever focus on that scene between her and Team Sonic (yet strangely don't point to the fact Cream the Rabbit nor Big the Cat object to Amy doing it, despite Cream being the voice of reason for Amy) or the fact other teams have other similar reactions (like Rouge just outright accusing Chaotix of going after Eggman treasure and starting a fight with them) however I think the scene was suppose to showcase Amy wanting Sonic to see how much more competent she is, but as with every other team fight doesn't display that well.
As a contrast I see Amy's underwhelming gameplay as part of her development, going from slow and inexperienced, but wanting to work on being independent (Sonic Adventure) to now actually achieving speeds to catch up to Sonic and can roll into a ball, dash and have her own abilities (Advance 2 and Heroes)
However when her childish personality didn't work, it really didn't work.
I agree.
Yes only that there are so fragile that Classic Sonic and Shadow both casually one shot them like its nothing,
Also lets not mention that there prior to the final battle there weren't multible copies but apparently only 1 at the time while Eggman was relying more on Grey scale Egg Pawns that aren't even equipped with weapons.
(as a matter of fact in SA2 is Amy actually more annoyed at being leaved out of the action by Sonic and Tails than she is by Sonic rejecting her love again)
The Problem with Amy started pretty much with Sonic X which removes almost all of her likable traits from the games and leaves her as a Housewife with massive temper tantrums and an all consuming love for Sonic.
Superhedgehog 64
Boom Amy literally has no consistent personality, she’s always just what the writers need her to be to make their dumbass jokes work.
I miss the Amy I knew from Sonic X, she actually did shit to not only help Sonic, but also the rest of her friends as well.
Exactly
Archie does some good work with her but not like the idw comics tho
Brian Alleyne before or after the Super Genesis wave thing?
@@algalax2 super genesis wave thing? Are u talking about how she aged with the Chaos emerald?
I really wished they'd tone down the boy-craze, because tgen your left WITH A GOOD CHARACTER, not a girl trying to *force Sonic into marriage-*
They do that well in the Sonic Boom show. The fan-craze is annoying.
I mean she’s still like 12 years old so I feel like if she gets older and matured she wouldn’t be as obsessed
@@nintenprincess tbh. Everyone's been through that, especially kids with cartoon crushes..
But seriously when people get word stalker from anyway?🤔 when come down sonic franchise they call her stalker for no explanation reason. 🤨🤷♀️
Y'know, I recorded a paragraph on Boom Amy, but she wasn't Sonic-crazy in the side-series. Plus, Boom Amy is super inconsistent.

Amy is now just a bossy bratty feminist bitch with no personality now
I would say it's the opposite, her fangirl side, and passionate crush on Sonic, was what made her unique, while she has many other good qualities like her compassion and kindness, her love for Sonic was what made her memorable and unique, because no other character has that.

I love Amy Rose, she is a great character, I don't know where people got the creepy stalker vibe from her. in that scene where you showed Amy chasing Sonic it was because he attacked Eggman with her right there and could have hurt her, who wouldn't be upset about that?

i love that you bring the characters’ depth into the surface. the characters have such deep personalities and you point that out really well
I think that people who like to romantically pair Sonic and Amy are the ones who remember what she used to be like and realize that if they got her characterization right again, she honestly could be written as someone that Sonic might fall in love with.
Sonic Battle kinda confirms this:
In Rouge's story, Amy hallucinates Sonic fighting with her, and as Rouge, you must fight Amy AND the Hallucination of Sonic.
It was that moment where I question her sanity.
Yeah me too probably to include her cause besides she really has no story in the game so they made the crazy Amy fir that😒

I honestly liked that Amy and Sonic were low-key dating in the Sonic Boom cartoon.
Amy has always been my favorite character growing up, since not only she’s the most relatable, but our initials are the same, and even our last names are very similar.

Characters In-Depth Nice. 🤗

Oh, and in defence of the ending of Black Knight, she DID think that Sonic had stood her up so... her anger's a little justified there.
I should mention Amy can keep up with sonic and shadow then also brawl it out with knuckles in terms of strength making her potentially one of the strongest sonic characters
You made me cry with all that beautiful words.🥺🥺

Not even mentioning why I can see people looking up to her: she taught herself multiple superpowers! What a better hero than that? ...people do tie it up into the stalker thing but still, admirable divorces from motives and, actually, it isn't a that bad a motive as she isn't actually a stalker... exactly.
Great vid! Loving this series and all the videos!
Thank you so much for making this. You explained it better than I ever could. Her adventure era self is too often forgotten.
So Sonic is more of a dick, Rouge is more selfish, Amy is insane, Knuckles is really simple minded, Tails is super shy and Shadow is far more brooding that usual.
can you provide a link to it?

I wouldn't be surprised if content was cut from 06, after all, that game was rushed.
See I told you Sally and Sonic will never get together that’s not his style
Exactly the Archie Comics had to change Sonic's personality in order for Sonally to work
Maybe in the next 3D game they could maybe have a mix of a homing attack and her Piko Piko hammer as sign of her getting stronger?
For reworked themes I came across these recently
Found My Way: Abit of a reworked and expanded Believe In Myself - set to pace more in line with SA2's rendition - with throwbacks to the original in the lyrics (and SA1 music) but with abit of changes here and there in the verses. Also a brand new chorus, which has has nods back to the original lyrics. I wouldn't say no it being brought on as Tails' next theme
th-cam.com/video/m-6gqYtwPBE/w-d-xo.html
My Sweet Passion (EuRosy Mix): lyrically its the same My Sweet Passion, but now with the stupidly upbeat and infectious eurobeat keyboards. Just don't play it while driving. Could have easily been Amy's theme for Team Sonic Racing as she disappears into the horizon like a highway star.

Agreed
Yeah.
Amy, she was friendly, but also have her tantrums and explosive moments, which was fun to watch, but now she's just a good girl.
Very well said! I agree completely! I just hope SEGA see it like this as well.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind in hearing your ideas on how Amy can be improved.
Because it somehow makes sence that Amy believes she is useless on her own, yet is never afraid to the point of actually being in danger and she is constantly trashing stuff even before Zero shows up.(Who she could only beat because of the stage, so the point of "she realizes she could have done it whenever" is kinda fake.)
I honestly rather substitude it for an arc that both makes more sence of who she is later and also makes her less annoying later at the same time.
Manga Prime
Nah, putting canon romance into Sonic is a bad idea. Nothing kills a good action plot faster than unnecessary romantic blabbering.
@@mangaprime478 Please no ROMANCE in Sonic games. Plus the fanbase don't know how to act when it comes to shipping with Sonic characters.
If I've learned anything from this channel, it's that these characters have been flanderized.
go watch other channels and they'll also prove the Sonic characters have been flanderized

She has done many great things in the Sonic Series. And she has also grown as a character, she was in the damsel like role once upon a time. But she really has come far since then. She's still our cute but fierce ball of kindness and fangirling but she's also brave, calm, and a leader, she even proves herself as a very capable fighter too. If you just want to see Sonic characters written extremely well, the comics are well much worth a read. And heck, i'm only 8 chapters in

Amy need love. Sonamy~!
I agree with you, Amy is not a stalker for Sonic, the real Amy Rose!
Let's play here: th-cam.com/video/sXsfbrFC5fo/w-d-xo.html
I do believe it would've been much better if its camera centered on and followed you for the most consistent movement possible, because the game does have that in itself.
Here's one example: th-cam.com/video/cVIabL-rOwI/w-d-xo.html
You should be looking at Knuckles in that game, where almost every time he speaks he is snarky in tone.

Boom!Amy returns that essence of the character that goes beyond being in love with Sonic and knowing that they have changed the dynamic between the two of them gives me hope to return all the potential that she has
My Sweet Passion is probably one of my favorite songs from the sonic franchise.
8:56 Yes ofc shes one of the most important characters!
Yes maybe shes sometimes going crazy about Sonic, but pls
Guys, she is in love with him, love makes sometimes people blind.
But when we're not looking at that, SHE'S ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT HEROES OUT THERE!
And good santence here - 9:00 👌💕
Thx for making this video! ^^♡
Am I the only one who has always liked Amy Rose?
No
No. In fact, Amy is my favorite sonic character and it was BECAUSE of Amy I got into the Sonic series
You are not alone.
4:12 I just love rewatching this clip lmao the way Sonic saying "No Way" 🤣
Love is as mysterious to me as it is to metal sonic, but I'll still Cheer Amy and all the other Sonic characters to have proper character development in the future.
Wonderful video!
I wish Amy was like the way she was in Adventure 1 & 2, and parts of her in Heroes.
