    The harvesters effect happens when slain models are REMOVED. Models are removed at the same time (not one by one, 14.2 of core rules). Means that if I one shot a guard unit, it can't be resurected anymore by the harvester. The old harvester didn't have the wording the same.

    Hey Rob, love the show. I recently got to play against Kaleb Walter's version of this list at a GT with my Petrifax Elite list (narrowly lost by 2 point to a prio roll and a mistake or two :( ).
    The middle part of the video with the harvester + mortek combo has a few rules errors in it. Slain models are all removed at the same time ONCE ALL WOUNDS HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED (14.2 core rules) therefor if you can kill the Mortek in 1 activation the harvester rolls cannot go back into the mortek guard unit so if they are on a 5+ ward save it only takes 30 unsaved damage to brick the unit (on average). The math gets trickier with multi damage attacks vs shield wall but the unit is super vulnerable to getting roared and then just killed.
    Another small caveat that the was kinda missed is how to return slain models to units. You can only return models back to a unit within 1" of a model THAT WAS NOT PREVIOUSLY SLAIN IN THAT PHASE (14.2.1 core rules). So it can be tricky to pull models correctly and not accidentally cheat.
    The harvester is an incredibly complex model once you get past the surface but it is definitely powerful and I don't blame anyone for missing any nuances within it. Overall I love this overview of a very interesting and powerful list and I love the content you put out on this channel

      @@TheHonestWargamer Harvester rolls when slain models are removed from play, not just when slain so 14.2 is really the rule we are looking for. Prior to an FAQ late last year, the harvester rolled when slain, not when removed from play. Back then the harvester wouldnt really work at all because the model would still be on the board when you rolled as no slain models are removed until all wounds have been allocated to the unit

And also importantly, even if the unit isn't completely wiped out, if you kill say 19 out of 20, you can only return models within 1" of that 1 guy, which sometimes means you can't return as many as the harvester would otherwise allow you to. Rob's unfortunately got this one wrong (no shame in it, it's a complicated rule and easy to misunderstand and we all make mistakes sometimes).

    Not played Sigmar for a while whilst being in engrossed with 40K recently, but this was a fantastic watch Rob. Baffled with all my TH-cam wargaming viewing, this level of army breakdown barely exists in either game, you've got a great production here. All hail the exploding boner boys!

    Another great vid. I think this was a great choice of army / list to showcase as the principles really apply to most tanky armies. Unfortuantely most of them do result in the classic strategy of shooting the heroes, or in this case the harvester.. but I think those matchups aside this list has tons of fun into other melee armies

    Rob - awesome video. Quick question and this involves basically the whole concept on 96 1 damage attacks to kill a brick of mortek.
    I see a lot of people using the Gothizar harvester more like an additional 4+ ward and that doesn't seem to be the case as it doesn't bring back models until after you've resolved the damage from the attacks and for that you need to follow 14.2 and 14.2.1.
    14.2 Core rules explains when a model is slain and it's not slain until you allocate all the damage from the attacks caused to it. For example, you have a 10 brick of mortek guard that took 10 damage after wards, they each need to be assigned a damage to "resolve the attacks". So that's 1 damage to each of the guard and the unit is slain, in this example the Gothizar harvester wouldn't be able to return models.
    14.2.1 Returning Slain models is also very interesting and will come into play - this says you can bring back models only within 1" of a model that was not returned this phase.
    Just some food for thought. :)

      @@TheHonestWargamer Yes 14.1 isn't relevant because harvester doesn't trigger when models are slain, only when they are removed. They aren't removed until all wounds are allocated to the unit, not individually after each model is slain (as per 14.2). Hence, if the unit is removed in a single activation, the harvester cannot return any models to that unit.

    Noob ossiarch here. Was happy to see that what I wantyed to start AOS with seems to make sense!
    That beeing said:
    - why not take aura of sterility? -1 to wound and to hit helps a lot against the natural counter of the list... Do you really need the anti charge when you have this staying power?
    - Not sure but... Is it really worth it to take the liege cavalos? He is ok, and with big synergy on morteks... But once again, not sure you need to win melee even more.
    - Next saison, this army will probably want some immortis guards... Given that there is a secondary for them, maybe even now...

      Hi, aura is also super good however it comes up in less matchups so I tend to take the things that will make the difference in the most games, and people failing charges makes people fail tactics and helps win games. And the leige is a good hero +1 attack is a great buff good in combat and is relatively tanky he's just doing things I wanted in my list of course other lists may want different things

    Funny thing is I started OBR a bit before the new book. The crematorions were already my favorite just due to the fact they could blow up and i can make fire skeletons. A few of the people I play against are not a fan of my Bone bombers. Charge me I dare ya! Im taking you with me! Great vid its awesome to see the explody boys get some love.

    Hey Rob. Just want to mention that slain models are removed altogether in 3rd edition (they're technically slain one at a time as the wounds are allocated, but removed simultaneously which is specifically when the harvester triggers), so if against a unit of 20 Mortek you allocate 21+ unmitigated wounds, they are gone before harvester can trigger to target them. They're still durable but significantly less so than if you removed one at a time since there are quite a few units that can go past 20 damage in a single activation.

    Played against this list last night! It was very scary, but I shot the harvester dead turn 1 which is probably the only reason I survived.

    Harvester Rule triggers when a model is removed from play, not when it is slain.
    No slain models are removed from play until all wounds are allocated and all attacks are resolved.
    Additionally, Bone Harvest can only return models to a unit when no wounds are allocated to a unit. Which with 14.1 and 14.2 means that a unit with slain models in it can not have models returned to it as there are wounds allocated to the unit, the only way to resolve that is to remove all of the slain model and the only model that would trigger the Harvester would be the final model you remove as it only at this point the unit would not have wounds allocated to it.
    The sequence is:
    -Enemy Selects Targets
    -Enemy Rolls Attacks & Wounds
    -You Roll Saves
    -Allocate Wounds
    -Roll Wards
    *Here models must have allocated wounds and suffer damage until slain, then you move on to the next model. You continue repeating these steps until all wounds are allocated and all attacks resolve*(14.1-14.2)
    -Once all wounds are allocated and all attacks are resolved we now go to remove slain models (14.1-14.2)
    -Before each slain model is removed the Crematorian ability actives (Crematorian subfaction)
    -A slain model is removed
    -The Harvester ability actives (Harvester Warscroll)
    -If successful and you wish to return a model within 1” of a model that was not returned earlier in the phase (14.2.1)

      14.2 Once the number of wounds is allocated to a model is equal to its wound characteristic that model is slain and you can not allocate any more wounds to it. A slain model is removed from play after all of the wounds caused to its unit have been allocated and all attacks that inflicted damage on the unit have been resolved.
      14.2.1 …Set up models, one at a time, within 1” of a model from their unit that was not returned to the unit earlier in the phase.

    ”Creme of the crop”, looks really interesting, but the big problem is keeping the Harvester alive!
    4+ save and 10 wounds is not a lot in this meta.

    This video was a fun watch but I think I am too late to the party as this video may not be 100% accurate anymore after the Sept 23 Bonereaper errata. The harvester's ability now only triggers on Ossiarch BR units within 6" that were slain in the combat phase. Which means, slain non-Ossiarch Bonereaper models no longer contribute to the heal and you can't resurrect models if they were killed in any other phase.

    Question for the math about the harvester: Was this taking into account that you remove slain models after all damage had been applied and not as the model is slain? Since there is applied wounds to the unit you would only be able to heal and not return models. Once a model hits its wound cap it is slain and slain models cannot be healed. So if you do one instance of 20 dmg for example (after wards this is applying 20 wounds) the models can't be healed because they all qualify as slain and also have pending allocated wounds so the harvester cannot return models because of allocated wounds and may only heal but slain models cannot be healed.
    I think everyone will be playing this wrong but I blame GW for not changing who this rule is written.

Which brings up the question are you removing all slain models at the same time or one at a time? almost everything is done one at a time such as a model moving attacking or having wounds applied but removing slain models is not mentioned.
