This Killing Voice is a medley of their own songs. You can see how diverse their discography is! This was comprised of most of their title tracks, but their B sides are amazing (albums are no skips for me). "I Miss You" is not only a B side, but was only 2 years after debut.
Moonbyul now has over 90 credits. She write majority of her raps in Mamamoo's songs (and her own). And yes, she can sing. She actually trained to be a vocalist.
Additionally, all the members have writing and composing credits for either their solo work or their contributions to Mamamoo songs.
The more you learn about Mamamoo (off stage), the more you stan. They've got such a good vibe and always appear to enjoy themselves, no matter where they are (on set, variety shows, on stage, drinking, etc). Even in this killing voice, you can see the little jokes and playing around in between.

Mamamoo has the wildest discography in Kpop. They debuted as a jazzy group and then just keeps experimenting with different genres from there. If you want to look more into them, then you're in for a ride ;)

I'm sure other moomoos (Mamamoo fans) have answered your question about whether these were their own songs but yeah, this medley is a sampler of some of their songs from their debut track Mr Ambiguous in 2014 to their most recent songs Dingga and Aya at the time this video was made in 2020. As you can tell there's a lot of diversity in their music and btw they often write or co-write the lyrics and music with their producers at RBW. People say Mamamoo can sing anything and can write a song about anything and there are a bunch of b-sides with off the wall topics to illustrate the latter proposition. lol
You're correct that they're good friends. Wheein & Hwasa have been best friends since middle school so they had a head start but Solar and Moonbyul are almost inseparable and the four of them believe they were destined to meet and become bff regardless of whether they were singers or in a group together. They have several songs on that topic.
They have dozens of MVs, over a dozen albums and 100's of hours of live performances available as a group and as solo artists. Each member has a successful solo career and they were the first group to have all members chart on Billboard as solo artists while the group was still active as a unit. They're one of the deepest rabbit holes in kpop and, as moomoos like to say, Once you Wheein you can't Wheeout!
As great as their recordings are, Mamamoo is best when they're live. Their amazing vocals and riveting stage presence combined with their unpredictability, theatricality and on-stage hijinks make every MMM performance a must see. I'll recommend a few examples of MMM live:
The Immortal Songs Medley from a 2017 MMM concert is a good place to start. It consists of some of the cover songs they performed on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs 2 between 2015-17. Over the years they've performed on Immortal Songs 14 times as a group and Solar has also appeared as a soloist. Each is a spectacular vocal showcase but don't react to them because they'll be blocked by the tv network unless you do some fancy editing.
Then check out their controversial, show-stopping performance at the 2018 MAMA award show. Find the 8 minute vid of the complete performance rather than one of the shorter cut versions that are out there. Hwasa's "too sexy" outfit triggered a shit storm in Korea, which is one of the fashion controversies referenced in the song Hip. Hwasa responded by wearing black lingerie for MMM's next award show performance about a week later. 😏
And finally watch any or all of their performances on the 2019 female competition tv show Queendom (which MMM won). The songs include Decalcomanie, Good Luck (a radically re-arranged "cover" of an AOA song), the premiere of Destiny (about their fated unity), and the full version of I Miss You, which they partially re-wrote as a love song to moomoos just for that "fan's choice" round of the competition.

Wheein causes what I call "comeback amnesia", which is basically being so powerful that people act like every comeback is the first time they've ever seen an idol. 🥰😂 Yes, she's my bias but it took me like two years to realize that Wheein was always my bias and I kept acting brand new at each comeback.

Same though. Red Velvet has been in my playlists for a few years now. Embarrassingly, I didn't really know anything about them or k-pop groups in general until 5 or 6 months ago. I just heard Red Velvet on some playlist around 2018 K/DA times and liked their genre coverage, vibe, and harmonies so I ran with it. Once I started digging into the actual people and scene, a friend recommended Mamamoo to me since I was showing a preference towards crazy vocals. To me, I think the most impressive thing about about Mamamoo isn't that they are amazing vocalists, but the uniqueness of each member's vocal style blending together so well really blows my mind. It's baffling, to be honest.

Yeah, Mamamoo vocals totally slay. Fans joke that they "eat CDs for breakfast" cause they always sound just as good (if not BETTER) than the studio version of songs live.
Definitely react to Introducing Mamamoo Parts 1&2 by Purple Hawke, those videos cover everything. The performances, the vocals, the crackheadery, the incredible bonds, Mamamoo truly has it all.
Mamamoo got their start on a show called "Immortal Songs" where they perform famous songs in a competition. They won 3 times, and those performances are some of their best. Out of those, "Delilah" and "Passion Flower" are some of the top picks for vocals and performance. They are absolutely breathtaking.

The b-sides are heavily R&B w/ hints of jazz. Moonbyul solo work is crazy good. Wheein and Ailee, another fantastic singer, recently did a Christmas song. Angels.

You should definitely check out Purple Hawke’s guide so you can get to know them better (also the editing on those videos is really good) all the songs in this medley are theirs but it’s only a small taste of their huge discography. You can really close your eyes and pick one of their songs and it will be great. I would recommend that you react to their videos in order so that you can see their evolution as artists but it’s up to you. Their most popular MVs are probably HIP, Starry Night, Egotistic, and Aya. They also have very successful solo projects (Moonbyul is having a comeback next week if I’m not mistaken) so you can check those out too!

IMHO this is the best singing group active today, in the world. This group is also extremely talented with performance, so get the live videos whenever you can. You will see insane levels of production, rolling out on giant thrones, you can see in the video they cant help themselves from doing the choreo they have for each song. They hit nearly every genre from old school big band, jazz, reggae, R&B, some rock, even a couple songs that would not be out of place in Country(Destiny Queendom version) They do crackhead stuff, probably one of their best vocal example is singing about Pikachu dressed as Pokemon and if you can get the 4 hours of the 4 Seasons 4 Colors you will see insane levels of crazy performance, Solar hits the pole dancing, they do covers occasionally They had to do this all the hard way. No big budget. Living together in a tiny cockroach infested room having to Busk on the street to get their name out there at the beginning. Solar is by Bias, so check out her solarsido if you want to see her doing Acapella of some of their songs, or Lady Gaga, she just put out her version of Michael Jackson's Man in the Mirror, she does some dancing, Tap In. MoonByul, Hwasa and Wheein also have solo stuff happening. For Solar, check out Spit it out, Hwasa its the new Im a Bitch, Wheein check out Trash(she also has covers and dances) Moonbyul Eclipse. They also write and do their own music, not every song they have good producers like Cosmic Girl and good Choreographers as well. All of them can play an instrument or too, Solar is one of those musicians that can play any instrument if she chooses to pick it up. Even their songs for commercials are insanely good, like Woo Hoo.

Wheein will be droping her second mini album "Whee" with her new label "The L1VE", in January 👀👀👀. As well as moonbyul, "6equence" also in january, with her same label "RBW". Just incase if no one told you or info you want to know of, all other 3 members of mamamoo did renew contract with RBW, however wheein did not. She joined "THE L1VE" a few weeks once contract ended with RBW and she is the 2nd artist signed under that label after Ailee. The good thing is that although she did not renew she did do a special contract with RBW to stay in MAMAMOO for 2 more years i believe. So as a solo she did not renew but as a group member she did. MAMAMOO is still 4 💜. Also i feel you with the bias, mine is solar but dang it was hard. However, her powerful vocals got me. They are my favorite female kpop group because they started at the bottom like for real. On there debut only 3 people showed up, one was a friend of wheeins the other 2 were moonbyuls sisters, yet they performed with smiles and they gave it there all 🤧😭. Since they do things their way, their popularity is not as high because they dont follow korean standards and they still couldnt be happy to be themselves, Im a moomoo for life. They deserve more in my opinion. 💚💚
Yeah they definitely have one of the best success stories in kpop next to BTS. I think they definitely deserve more than they have but they have still become one of the biggest groups of that generation and we love to see it!

Since you like Mamamoo and especially Wheein I really recommand checking out Ailee, she is in the same label as Wheein and is considered one of the best solo vocalist in kpop. She has a killing voice medley and she will soon drop a duet with Wheein for christmas. And I know you love Seulgi and you seemed to vibe with Moonbyul (the rapper) as well so I would recommand Moonbyul's solo Selfish featuring Seulgi, you won't be disappointed.

The MAMAMOO members(as of 2020) are among some of the most-credited idols in K-Pop. Moonbyul actually has the most songwriting credits of all 3rd generation female idols (at 65 credits for this artical, but at 111 as of 2023), since she writes her own raps in almost all of the group’s songs.
And more(songwriting, composition on Illella).
Solar has 25+ credits to her name. She also wrote the lyrics and composition for her solo song, “Spit it Out”. Composer on "Honey"
Hwasa, meanwhile, has 27+ credits. The lyrics to her solo song, “María”, were praised for its inventive and meaningful wordplay. ("Somebody" w/Loco)
Wheein has at least 9 (that I can confirm, probably more) as of 2023.

I loved you’re reaction to my Queens! I got into K-pop 2 years ago with BTS and started looking into other groups. Mamamoo is the only female group that has attracted me and made me a dedicated fan. They are truly talented and have a lot of artistic freedom in their musical directions as well as their other ventures. They are truly respected as artists and not just idols. Their live performances at award shows, concerts and on the competition shows Queendom and Immortal Songs are some of the best you will ever see in K-pop. They really take over the shows and I love watching other groups react to them.

Mamamoo are hands down one of kpop's greatest groups. S Tier across the board. Solar and Wheein are for me the first and second best female vocalists in kpop, Moonbyul is up there with Soyeon as the best female rapper (Second for me, but I've plenty time for the argument she could be first) and very few if any can match Hwasa's stage presence and unique vocal tone.
If you liked this, the Immortal Songs Medley live show is a must watch. You get to see them fully owning the stage, turning things up to ten. The Mamamoo guide/introduction by Purple Hawke is probably the best guide video I've ever seen. Great information and it's excellently put together and edited. If you wanna get to know them all more, absolutely watch it.

I had the same feelings you did when I first found them lol. Unfortunately don't get too attached to Wheein, she is still promoting with them for now, but she didn't extend her contract. However she's now on the same label as Ailee (who also has a Killing Voice vid and she may be one of the best vocalists around) and they're supposedly doing a duo which is dope

@@infinitelocke Yeah she did not renew her contract with RBW (Mamamoo's label) but she is still part of Mamamoo and she still participates in the future albums and promotions for the group until december 2023. And she has now a contract for her solo carreer with Thelive wich is Ravi's (former Vixx member) label and yeah she is Ailee's labelmate (one of the best vocalist in the kpop industry). So yeah kinda sad but at the same time hype for the upcoming stuff she's gonna serve us.

so live performances are just musts to watch
some of them are performances from immortal songs performances (these are covers of seniors' songs, my favorites are "wonderful confession" and "delilah") - these do get blocked often; and "immortal songs medley performance" (it's some of performances from immortal songs contest summed up on their concert) - this doesn't get blocked usually
also "I miss you" on queendom and other ones on queendom too - these might get blocked but idk not that much as immortal songs ones I guess
also if u want to check their mvs please consider going in chronological order? I think it's the best way to get known with their discography
but it's ur decision anyway of course
for wheein I'd suggest water color, easy - more like "fun" songs and "good bye", " anymore" - ballads
