Playing POE 2. I have a Sol Circle Gold Ring with a main stat of 15% increased rarity on items found. It also rolled an 11% increased rarity on items found. I upgraded it into a rare intending to give it 6 modifiers with exalted orbs. I used an exalted orb and it upgraded the 11% increased rarity on items found modifier to 24%. So now the ring has 5 modifiers but it won't let me use an exalted orb to give it a sixth modifier. Is that a feature or a bug?
You do have 6 mods. It didn't upgrade the existing rarity mod but instead it added a new rarity mod. The item tooltip just adds both mods together but in reality it's 2 separate mods.

This is insanely helpful, thank you SO very much. I will favourite this so I can show anyone new how to play. Even after many expansions, this will continua to be useful to so many people, because this baseline will always exist. Being so new and a lot of people playing casually, they are likely keeping a lot of the "rarer" mods for themselves at the start, so perhaps they aren't being traded as much. Those that truly benefit are poor saps trying to RMT to make a quick buck, and those too are off the market. So those chances may yet be superficial.

An essence makes sure a specific type of modifier is on the item so it might be a fire mod that can roll any fire mod available but is definitely going to have atleast one of them or a run speed increase which I don't know of other types of those so it's gonna be + run speed% depending on the essence used ofcourse and it will say it on the essence what it does.
I've got a few quarterstaff that have increase elemental damage. I haven't paid much attention to other weapon types so I can't say if it's a universal affix
Small clarification on some of the physical damage notes on weapons. There is the # to # physical damage added and the %physical damage. Known as flat phys and %phys. These are not the same and aren’t correlated at all. You can have one without the other. The way the video describes it it makes it sound like the flat physical roll is the added value of the % roll and it’s not. Two different modifiers on the weapon. One does exactly what it sounds like and adds # physical damage to an attack. While the other will increase the physical damage on the weapon by a certain percent. Ideally, for a strong physical damage base you will roll both of these mods, as the % increased physical damage will ALSO include and scale the flat added, gaining even more damage from having both.

What is the extra inventory space?
+1 to this question
what is that, wondering that to.
It's a warrior passive tree skill
@@The.Marauder warrior has a skill that increases investory space. it's ironically a strong farming class for this reason despite being trash at actual story clearing and stuff.
How do you go over the stack limit for orbs???
Currency stash tab can hold up to 5000 in stack for each orb.
Is it true that the higher the quality of a normal (white) item before you upgrade it the better (higher) the stat range of the affixes? I remember in PoE 1 it was very important (or recommended) to improve the quality of your gear to max before you used any of your rare gems to upgrade it.
How do you get the extra slots in your inventory?
it's from warriors ascendancy in the titan tree called "Colossal Capacity"
how do you get that extra area for inventory space?
Warrior. Titan ascendancy. One of the nodes adds "you carry a chest in to battle, adding 20 inventory slots"
@SoulWraith101 dude that's so messed up lmfao everyone should get that for an option haha
how is it possible to get that inventory extension you have ? :)
It's a Warrior Class Ascendancy, the Titan Ascendancy have the option to get that in their Ascendancy Skill Tree.
Which are the Breakpoint Levels?
I'm brand new to the game never played the first, my stash tab looks nothing like yours, how do I ammend that?
You can customize them by right clicking depending o wich stash type you can change name collors set items for sale and so on, i recommend buying the currency, essence and the premium stashes but wait for a stash tab sale it usually happens once a month (sadly the last one was on the pevious weekend)
@Yanzn-f8o I a tually picked it up as I bought the 80 bucks version so had 1000 currency to use so I grabbed the extra tabs in the hopes I would need them, I'll look into that thank you.
i have a question, how do you get whites? i have not gotten a single white minion sceptre in 3 acts, a couple blue and some rares so i can actually change my weapon but no whites.
they are random. only way to "target" them is by buying them from vendors.
13:37 What did that Vaal Orb modify exactly ??
I cannot see any change at all.
It corrupted it. If you see at the stat list of the item it changes to "Corrupted" in red.
@@losttropic2919 didnt change anything tho
It's suppossed to randomly change the modifiers, and then prevent it from further changes.
@@takezomiyamoto1390 probably it rerolled something and it happened to be the same as before. like the +2 to melee rerolled. but to the same thing, because it likely doesnt roll higher than +2 at this itemlevel
One possible outcome of using a vaal orb is that it changes nothing when corrupting the item
how do you get the extra space to your invetory, this is from necro league if i remember correct.
It's a passive skill in the Ascendancy tree of the Titan class
Awesome video as a new player this helped with a lot of my questions. Especially when you explained player to player trading
Would be nice to change specific modifiers on gear instead of random.
Well, if the guy had any clue of how POE crafting works, he wouldn't waste that much of his time to make a 30 minute ramble about obvious basics :D
I'm not far enough into progression to make a more serious call here, but blocking mods and metacrafting Orbs are not even mentioned.
(Tier) Items which have restrictions on what can be rolled are not mentioned as well.
I advise to get a complete grasp of a system you try to make a guide for before doing so. At least if you want to have a channel which is doing well.
POE Veterans will destroy any obviously incomplete guide. That is NOT, that those players are toxic, but they are just more informed about the situation, even if they didn't play ANY of POE 2 yet.
@@stefaningenhamm5320 Pretty sure this video was aimed at people like me... the noobs. This was suprisingly helpfull 26 minutes... previously watched 50 minute video of how trading works... still dont know if The trades happen automaticly if you have premium statsh, or not..
edit: and yes i come from warfame where we have automated SCRIPTS for trading....
You can do it with essences that guarantee one mod type. It's still a bit random because cold essence can give you cold damage or cold resist etc. But it's a way to narrow down modifiers.
Cringe @@stefaningenhamm5320
@@stefaningenhamm5320I don't think poe 2 has any of these in game yet closest we have is essences and thats about it
Are the items bought now remaining after release?
I don't believe so. From what I understand it would be best to look at this like a season and full release will be like a new season.
How do you have extra inventory space?
ascendancy
what does qual do on wands?
I've found with blue, it's probably better to sell them to get gold and salvaging any sockets and quality items. I'm getting a lot of blue orbs dropping. Yellow item are probably better to disenchant.
PS: How did you get those extra slots to the left of your inventory? Is it a belt?
This is insanely helpful, thank you SO very much. I will favourite this so I can show anyone new how to play. Even after many expansions, this will continua to be useful to so many people, because this baseline will always exist.
I don't know how goof the values are if they are truly being put on the trading sites.
Im confused
How do i know how many pre or suffixes my RING can have? I dont see it saying it anywhere, not on the ring and not on this POE2DB website :X
Am i stupido?
for uncommon 1pre/1suff and for rare 3pre/3suff

i got a question here : D how do i know if i can create more than 1 rune slot on a gear ? i've seen people with 3 on their armor, unfortunately mine couldnt go higher than 2 and i didn't know that until i regaled and sloted 2 runes on it already XD
afaik a 3rd socket can be generated by using the vaal orb and hope for the best :D Not sure if there is another option to get a piece with 3 sockets

Very useful video! I noticed on the poe2db website that the mods page for items now says "weight information cannot be obtained" and all the red numbers in the table read zero. Am I using the website wrong or have they reset it for some reason?
the game is not finished, so the community tools are not finished either. it will take a long time until poedb2 is on par with poedb1, whatever info is lacking will eventually be filled in as the game ages.

seems like a waste to me rather than selling or disenchanting, but if you put the same 3 items of equal quality and type they fuse together to make another not sure the chances of it coming out with a stat you want but if its rolling between all 3 items you put in it seems you need to be pretty lucky to make it out with the stat you want
can you do a ring crafting guide for resistances?
Is the chance higher to get a specific modifier when i use an essence instead of a transmutation orb??
An essence makes sure a specific type of modifier is on the item so it might be a fire mod that can roll any fire mod available but is definitely going to have atleast one of them or a run speed increase which I don't know of other types of those so it's gonna be + run speed% depending on the essence used ofcourse and it will say it on the essence what it does.
Is there any way to increase elemental damage on weapons?
One extra thing to point out. Make sure you do artificer orbs / quality armor/weapon smithing stones before corrupting a decent 6 mod with vaal orb
Thanks for that advice
Coming from diablo, i understand some of the technicals but after 10 hour of playing as the monk, im still just running around hitting enemies with my staff. I’ve tried bow, crossbow, wand and hammers but I can’t use magic elements (or whatever the tree thing gives me). Really complicated game. Fun but I probably know 1% of what i need to do.
to use skills you have to right click the uncut gem item and choose an ability. the tree is just to passive effects.
Under no means are you locked out of using the other classes abilities, you simply need to make sure you have their weapons equipped, have the requisite stats to use them as well as have their skills unlocked using uncut gems.
This video had literally everything i was looking for thank you earned a sub from me.
When we supposed to start getting exalted orbs drop im at end act 3 not had 1 yet
its actually so cool that the common items are this important in a game! although at the same time for the majority of the player base it is also a "waste" of time if they can just trade what they want. certainly confusing for us newcomers LOL
Tip about selling out of public stash tabs is a game changer! TY!

It's reversed compared to PoE 1, tier 1 is the lowest.
Man this video is great, I just hit A2 and I was absolutely clueless about crafting so I just collected all the disenchanted mats to save for later, gonna have a play around and try to replace u yellow weapon that's 12 lvls lower than me haha
is there going to be a wipe with EA and do you lose stash items? thanks
I don’t think so.
There will be a new league with fresh start and new league mechanics while standard stays the same.
Every time new league starts old league is merged with standard
I have been told that GGG have stated something along the lines of that they will do everything they can to avoid wiping progress but due to it being early access they can't guarantee that it won't happen.
why you have only 3 normal stash?
what is with that extended inventory you got there?
Titan ascendancy node for warrior that gives extra storage

how to turn on prefix/suffix shown?
Please i need to know this too

This is decent advice for actually making your own gear, but I'd say just vendor everything that isn't socketed or has quality. Then just save your exalts (and other mats) and use poe trade to get exactly what you want
Bad advice. Some blue items you find have awesome/rare prefixes and suffixes that you will want to upgrade.
@xhandhele that's true but you have to regal it and hope you get a decent affix. Then exalt with the same hope like 4 more times and if even 2 go wrong early you have to trash it anyway
@@aramgarabedian1452 I think this is the way to go, I'm still new to the game and the chances of getting what you want are so slim you might as well go with trading and getting what you need. you save recourses to get what you need instead of gambling.
@@aramgarabedian1452but if you hit those 4 rolls you get paid, that’s crafting
@@xhandheleBy the time you slam enough orbs on it to get what you want, you could have just got it on poe trade for significantly less currency (99% of the time...the other 1% is when you rng your way to something worth multiple div)
appreciate the explanation of prefix and suffix as the game does not make it as obvious what is what. somewhat wish it was more obvious which is which and what options can roll where similar to Last Epochs crafting system where it was incredibly obvious what you could modify or roll an item in to.
I've seen people with like 6 sockets on their armor. How do we do that?
that will be POE 1 more than likely
So there's no way to upgrade an item to have 6 afixes, just 4?
It is, limit for rare items is 3 Prefix / 3 Suffix. You need to use Exalted Orb for that. Also, some items have implicit mod as well so can have up to 7 in total.
As being brand new to poe I think I struggle with understanding what affixes I should be looking for and what are important ones vs not so important ones. Like I have no idea what any of the stats mean or anything
There's a few TH-camrs that have videos explaining how the game calculates damage/ mitigation. I can't remember who at the moment. In my opinion once you figure out what playstyle you enjoy, you should figure how calculations are done(the main thing to note is what is additive and multiplicative).
