I'd argue that there was a point, I want to say 2015-2018 where he didn't do that, that he held the moral high ground and stopped baiting the trolls and remained more professional. He even made a video giving tips on how to avoid destroying your TH-cam channel which I think is still archived somewhere online. I wish he listened to that Rich instead. It is true that throughout his career on TH-cam he's been dogged by controversy, more than most TH-camrs. And that was no accident and most likely due to craving conflict and confusion on some level. However you portray it, ReviewTechUSA serves as a cautionary tale on the perils our mental health can toll on us.
I’ve watched Rich for over 10 years and watching all this unfold has been wild. A lot of us have been saying for awhile now that he needs to get help and I hope he does, but so far I doubt it will happen.

His young daughter came down with a terrible, life-altering disease, almost died, and ended up needing treatments that were expensive and debilitating. I think it wreaked havoc on the family and kind of became the tipping point for his decline. I followed him since the very beginning and it's all been pretty sad to see.

And at that time, he just had gameplay of game, while he talked about tech or gaming stuff. I felt for Rich with his health scare and his daughter. I hope he gets the help he needs. Nah, he mainly did that on his livestreams. His downfall was trying to be a drama channel and being bad at it. His other major downfall was simply not doing game news anymore. He lost his passion for it, but that's why people came to him...not to hear about beef he has with Pat the NES Punk or Quantum TV.

I remember finding his channel around mid 2015 and I loved his videos. At the time, they were strictly about gaming news with the occasional review. It seemed very straightforward. He didn’t seem to change until he divorced his wife. Pretty sad to see a TH-camr I really enjoyed slowly go down the deep end of his sanity.
I feel for Rich. Been supportin his content more than a decade. He’s multitalented, and I love that he makes beats; I tried to reach out to him for one of his beats and I never got a reply..no love lost for that either because regardless I respect his contribution to the Craft.

A divorce, getting called out for not attending to his kid on livestream, daughter sickness and the drama with his editor leaving all got to him. His channel was basically a drama channel for years. You give criticism, be ready to get some back. He didn’t want the latter. Good riddance. That’s coming from me who was a fan.

I remember his weird intros he started putting in his videos in 2021. I was a fan myself, and I have no sympathy for him. That’s what got me too. His obsession with Jeremy was unhealthy. You don’t even have to like Jeremy, but Rich just got to the point where I would watch him panic over Jeremy just simply existing. It fed into other break downs over Geeks & Gamers and Melonie Mac. Which those two seemed to just ignore him.

Really took off when he started commentating on games. Thought he was funny and thoughtful, could be a bit impulsive at times too. But then he started running videos on social media drama. Like TMZ. I didn't think that was a good pivot at all.
Rich isn’t moving on. His self destructing isn’t over yet. Rich gave some really good advice years ago when he lost all that weight. He said something like “don’t tell anyone about it, don’t talk about it publicly. Just do it.” He was brilliantly right. I really struggled from 28-34 years of age with mental health, so I know how bad things need to get before you pick yourself up. Rich is doing what Boogie has done time and time again. He’s talking about changing, but we know it’s all just talk. Rich needs to unplug and focus on himself and his family. Unfortunately, he’s still at that stage where he’ll fight anyone who tries to give him advice. Things have to get worse yet before he’ll take meaningful action.

Then the situation in his personal life. He became odd. I hope he gets the help he needs. I absolutely enjoyed he got to the bottom of the DK Oldies situation. The show I am a host of Under The Mat Radio had the owner on the show and went to the warehouse. I have been getting stuff from DK Oldies beforehand. However; I started to check after them and behold thank goodness my consoles were ok and games. So, I gotta give credit for him doing that. All I can say is I hope he gets better, honestly.

Its common during a divorce for a Judge to set alimony for a business so high that the business owner has to close it. For example if he had to pay 1 million per year to his ex for his channel but it brings in 700k on bad years then its too expensive to keep it going.

The illness to his daughter was most definitely a marked turning point for us, viewing from the rafters. Not sure exactly when it truly began but that does feel like a pivatol moment in his lore.
He made the decision that boogie should have made long ago. If you keep that window open to come back to your channel, you will never seriously look to lead you life any other way.
Boogie sadly was always his own worst enemy. I don't think getting off social media would help Boogie as he was always a terrible person. I genuinely don't think Rich is all that similar. I just think social media just worsened the worst parts of him. Guy really needed to learn to just stay in the moment, stick to what he's good at and branch out ONLY if he can handle it, and not get too riled up by drama.

I think the episode with his daughter has probably hit home how much of an impact of how life can be unpredictable and things can swoop you off your feet in an instant. Rich probably didn't process it by digging in deep into his channel and has now sadly reached his point of no return...... I started watching him back in 2021 and loved his content, don't know why he gave up on video game news or related reviews but that was the nail in the corner of the coffin then not Allowing himself to take a break to come to the aide of his daughter Full time (as any other parent would) was the 2nd nail in the coffin and the final nail was obviously his change in attitude and how upon he started to deteriorate his persona and his TH-cam channel to a point beyond no return...... Not a mid-loife crisis, a different crisis upon how to handle hard and difficult situations in life, many people go about different ways- much like death- there's no right or wrong way of handling/doing this- some people just avoid it- Rich however because of being a content creator in the youtube eye needs to step back for several months, question "do I really need to do this anymore?" It was in connection with his reporting on The Completionist donation nonsense and Wood made a comment in defense of the Completionist. Although I wouldn’t have made the comment Rich completely crapping all over Wood in that video was the video that made me hit unsubscribe from him. I didn’t agree with Woods comment but I also wouldn’t make a total character assassination based on that. I hope Rich gets help. The Amico was when I started to question how much I liked Rich. But he apologized for pushing it harder than he should have, and I was willing to give him a second chance. But while people want to talk about him getting into politics and all that, the simple fact is that Rich's content just got stale. I enjoyed Rich's takes on the gaming industry, but it got harder and harder to keep any interest in his content. He didn't evolve and didn't release content fast enough to remain relevant. And then stopping the news killed it for me. The editor only made sure I'd never want to watch Rich again. I don't hate Rich. I want him and his family to be OK. But I'm apathetic towards him. And that's probably worse than anything else.

Shawn you're completely correct. I myself have seen how people need to internally want change before help will take hold. And I wrote a long comment to Rich saying that I hope he sought out help to aid his situation through therapy. But I also understood while typing that comment that it doesn't matter unless Rich wants that help. That's why I told him I'm not asking him to get help. I'm telling him he needs help. Sometimes its how you word it that sinks in and plants the seed for them to want that internal change. Only time will tell how Rich views his situation, and he's certainly done himself no favors lately, but I certainly hope the best for him in the future. I just know this. The first couple years I watched his channel it's because he had grounded sensible opinions of technology and other content creators. Over time, especially after his daughter's illness, I noticed his mindset changing. And he went straight to medical marijuana, which I totally understand and use myself. But that was NOT the time or the scenario to self medicate. That was the time to seek therapy and make it part of a more well rounded mental health plan. He used it as an escape rather than a positive.
What disturbs me the the most is that his recent stream was called "A Family Friendly Stream" but it's all obscene talk about his ex, and he also threw in the slur that begins with 'r' a few times. Not that his ex gets any points for discussing her past relationship with him on the lolcow show. I don't know what's going on with him, but hopefully he wakes up and lays low for a while, and soon.

Nah, he mainly did that on his livestreams. His downfall was trying to be a drama channel and being bad at it. His other major downfall was simply not doing game news anymore. He lost his passion for it, but that's why people came to him...not to hear about beef he has with Pat the NES Punk or Quantum TV.

I remember finding his channel around mid 2015 and I loved his videos. At the time, they were strictly about gaming news with the occasional review. It seemed very straightforward. He didn’t seem to change until he divorced his wife. Pretty sad to see a TH-camr I really enjoyed slowly go down the deep end of his sanity.
I feel for Rich. Been supportin his content more than a decade. He’s multitalented, and I love that he makes beats; I tried to reach out to him for one of his beats and I never got a reply..no love lost for that either because regardless I respect his contribution to the Craft.

A divorce, getting called out for not attending to his kid on livestream, daughter sickness and the drama with his editor leaving all got to him. His channel was basically a drama channel for years. You give criticism, be ready to get some back. He didn’t want the latter. Good riddance. That’s coming from me who was a fan.

Since 2021, you saw a shift where he developed a weird fixation on birds and DSP, like to a creepy degree. He reminded me Vaush with the way he talked about horses all the time. I remember his weird intros he started putting in his videos in 2021. I was a fan myself, and I have no sympathy for him.

That’s what got me too. His obsession with Jeremy was unhealthy. You don’t even have to like Jeremy, but Rich just got to the point where I would watch him panic over Jeremy just simply existing. It fed into other break downs over Geeks & Gamers and Melonie Mac. Which those two seemed to just ignore him.

Rich isn’t moving on. His self destructing isn’t over yet. Rich gave some really good advice years ago when he lost all that weight. He said something like “don’t tell anyone about it, don’t talk about it publicly. Just do it.” He was brilliantly right. I really struggled from 28-34 years of age with mental health, so I know how bad things need to get before you pick yourself up. Rich is doing what Boogie has done time and time again. He’s talking about changing, but we know it’s all just talk. Rich needs to unplug and focus on himself and his family. Unfortunately, he’s still at that stage where he’ll fight anyone who tries to give him advice. Things have to get worse yet before he’ll take meaningful action.

I have been a watcher of him for years. I noticed his change when he got obsessive with things like Birds, Nicholas Cage, Horses, and other things. Plus, being a drama channel with people(Quantum, DSP, Boogie, The Quatering, etc). I'm like dude, just review tech and talk about the news stories about what's going on in the gaming industry. I noticed the change in him. I was rooting for him and thought he was going to make a change in his life when he lost weight and everything. I was like..cool I'm proud of him and hope he squash beefs from everyone and everything from his earlier issues. But it became like he started to take edibles and weed. Then the situation in his personal life. He became odd. I hope he gets the help he needs. I absolutely enjoyed he got to the bottom of the DK Oldies situation. The show I am a host of Under The Mat Radio had the owner on the show and went to the warehouse. I have been getting stuff from DK Oldies beforehand. However; I started to check after them and behold thank goodness my consoles were ok and games. So, I gotta give credit for him doing that. All I can say is I hope he gets better, honestly.

Its common during a divorce for a Judge to set alimony for a business so high that the business owner has to close it. For example if he had to pay 1 million per year to his ex for his channel but it brings in 700k on bad years then its too expensive to keep it going.

The illness to his daughter was most definitely a marked turning point for us, viewing from the rafters. Not sure exactly when it truly began but that does feel like a pivatol moment in his lore.

He made the decision that boogie should have made long ago. If you keep that window open to come back to your channel, you will never seriously look to lead you life any other way.
Boogie sadly was always his own worst enemy. I don't think getting off social media would help Boogie as he was always a terrible person. I genuinely don't think Rich is all that similar. I just think social media just worsened the worst parts of him. Guy really needed to learn to just stay in the moment, stick to what he's good at and branch out ONLY if he can handle it, and not get too riled up by drama.

I think the episode with his daughter has probably hit home how much of an impact of how life can be unpredictable and things can swoop you off your feet in an instant.

I started watching him back in 2021 and loved his content, don't know why he gave up on video game news or related reviews but that was the nail in the corner of the coffin then not Allowing himself to take a break to come to the aide of his daughter Full time (as any other parent would) was the 2nd nail in the coffin and the final nail was obviously his change in attitude and how upon he started to deteriorate his persona and his TH-cam channel to a point beyond no return......
Not a mid-loife crisis, a different crisis upon how to handle hard and difficult situations in life, many people go about different ways- much like death- there's no right or wrong way of handling/doing this- some people just avoid it- Rich however because of being a content creator in the youtube eye needs to step back for several months, question "do I really need to do this anymore?"

Not defending Rich in his video calling Wood some immature name. It wasn’t random. It was in connection with his reporting on The Completionist donation nonsense and Wood made a comment in defense of the Completionist. Although I wouldn’t have made the comment Rich completely crapping all over Wood in that video was the video that made me hit unsubscribe from him. I didn’t agree with Woods comment but I also wouldn’t make a total character assassination based on that. I hope Rich gets help. His poor daughter went thru a lot and that probably caused a lot of grief for him.

Been a ReviewTechUSA fan for a very long time, Its been heart breaking to see him tumble over the last couple of years, I think its been a cocktail of things that have got him to the place he is in now, The divorce, His daughter becoming blind from complications of Steven Johnson syndrome, abusing THC
I really enjoy your channel RGT and also really enjoy Wood’s channel and content. He is super creative and ReviewTechUSA’s slander video about him was absolutely ridiculous. It is what it is thanks for keeping it real
The Amico was when I started to question how much I liked Rich. But he apologized for pushing it harder than he should have, and I was willing to give him a second chance. But while people want to talk about him getting into politics and all that, the simple fact is that Rich's content just got stale. I enjoyed Rich's takes on the gaming industry, but it got harder and harder to keep any interest in his content. He didn't evolve and didn't release content fast enough to remain relevant. And then stopping the news killed it for me. The editor only made sure I'd never want to watch Rich again.
I don't hate Rich. I want him and his family to be OK. But I'm apathetic towards him. And that's probably worse than anything else.
His editor is no saint either.........

Him leaving youtube was the best thing he coulda done. TH-cam monetization and the adpocalypse is cancer if you want to make a living. He was bringing his personal business into youtube, he went full potato as well.
That stream he did was hard to watch. Constant deflecting and trying to say he's glad he deleted his channel, meanwhile spending a good chunk of the stream bashing Jay and clearly his ego still bruised after their dispute.
Its a huge mistake deleting a channel that had a million plus subscribers. He could of said hey people im going to try his give me some time and if it doesnt work then come back to do the channel. . I wish him luck.
Shawn you're completely correct. I myself have seen how people need to internally want change before help will take hold. And I wrote a long comment to Rich saying that I hope he sought out help to aid his situation through therapy. But I also understood while typing that comment that it doesn't matter unless Rich wants that help. That's why I told him I'm not asking him to get help. I'm telling him he needs help. Sometimes its how you word it that sinks in and plants the seed for them to want that internal change. Only time will tell how Rich views his situation, and he's certainly done himself no favors lately, but I certainly hope the best for him in the future. I just know this. The first couple years I watched his channel it's because he had grounded sensible opinions of technology and other content creators. Over time, especially after his daughter's illness, I noticed his mindset changing. And he went straight to medical marijuana, which I totally understand and use myself. But that was NOT the time or the scenario to self medicate. That was the time to seek therapy and make it part of a more well rounded mental health plan. He used it as an escape rather than a positive.
Never underestimate the intelligence of RGT. Theres a reason the game chose him, he didn’t choose the game.
What disturbs me the the most is that his recent stream was called "A Family Friendly Stream" but it's all obscene talk about his ex, and he also threw in the slur that begins with 'r' a few times. Not that his ex gets any points for discussing her past relationship with him on the lolcow show. I don't know what's going on with him, but hopefully he wakes up and lays low for a while, and soon.
