She makes some good points but seems out of touch with the reality of what is happening. She kind of seems like she's operating from a long past ideal.
The built in checks and balances she cites are currently failing us. We're in a dire situation. Those checks and balances aren't working in the face of the corruption we've been facing with Trump and the justice system, the insanity of his cronies in the House and Senate, even the Supreme Court.

That’s what businesses are it’s about numbers not people deregulation no eyes on abuses .
We also are really good at separating the rich from the poor. You can’t have people in Ypsilanti seeing how people in Ann Arbor are celebrating their prosperity. This disparity happened in a generation. Once the good jobs left Ypsilanti drugs became income, and U of M students have the $ to support it. All you need to do is start at the Big House, drive down Washtenaw and keep going to West Willow. Then the middle class lives 45 minutes north or south; that’s what they can afford. A neatly divided county perfect for class resentment, and guess where the American people of color live?
There’s none so blind as politicians. Listen to them talk and you’d be forgiven for thinking they had been blessed with a surfeit of human kindness. They were driven into politics by a compulsion to serve the little people. They had just too much love to give. Overwhelmed by a sense of duty. It must be exhausting being that perfect.
Only that’s not even half the story. A veneer to make themselves feel good. Because what really drives them is an overweening vanity. Scratch the surface and you will invariably find a massive ego. An entitlement to rule. A belief that they alone have all the answers. That they can sort out the problems everyone else can’t. Truly they are uniquely blessed.

Well speaking for myself, a non educated working guy who at 75 still has callouses on his hands, and certainly not a billionaire it has worked out well I own homes both on the mainland and Hawaii. Well the bank actually owns the one in Hawaii, but I can afford the payments. This happened through hard work under a capitalist system were to get ahead you don't have to be affiliated with a single ruling party.
