I’m also an expat in Europe and feel the same way. As I listen to these programs, trying to warn the ppl about trump, MAGA & fascism, in my head I keep screaming, “WHY AREN’T AMERICANS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS”. Why aren’t they out in the streets protesting, something. I’m scared to death about this upcoming election, wondering if American voters will just give up & sit it out. What I appreciate most about your podcasts, Anthony, is your civility and even-handedness. The Meidas Touch network sometimes goes too far in name-calling and ridicule, particularly of T’s physical characteristics, and that seems to make me lose interest because I feel we are sinking to the same depths of ad hominen attacks as T and his followers. I really like that you keep things civil, even when you express justifiable outrage, frustration and incredulity. Thank you for modelling the civility we wish to maintain in democratic countries all over the world. Doesn’t mean we can’t fight like hell with everything we’ve got!

I listen to MTN everyday and can't remember a time when anything about Trumps physical characteristics was criticised.
Yes, they talk a lot about his cognitive decline which is evident to anyone.

Is it really ridiculous to say the U.S. is not a democracy? California with a population of 39 million has two U.S. Senators, while 22 states with populations between that of Connecticut and Wyoming have a similar combined population, but the latter population group is allotted 44 U.S. Senators. With such a formula, in what respect can it be said that federal governance is based upon the consent of the governed? A republic is representative governance, but a democratic republic is supposed to be representative government chosen by the majority of the governed. At best the U.S. has a system of minority rule. At worst it is an oligarchic republic.

Unfortunately, corporations are using excuses like COVID and supply chain issues to engage in price gouging. Which the POTUS has no control over. Dems tried to get legislation passed, similar to that in Britain, to fine corporations for price gouging. But like almost anything that would benefit the people, all Republicans voted against it.
