What would you do?
Considering the guy's known character, I don't think I'd tell him. If I was dealing with someone who was legitimately in the dark and was playing on the up and up, I would do so too. ~Allon
@@Bostnfn well said
Probably the same thing he did. I am sure it was a lot of money and that guy probably thought he was getting one over on the buyer.
@@jpacrylicstudio145 probably right
Same as the others. With the seller being a jerk or a fraudster I don’t think he deserves it.
That's a really tough question. Speaking for myself, I couldn't say for sure what I would do, unless I was in the situation.
thanks for posting the article he wrote. What a lucky guy to have a Craig Kriendler painting. I met him years ago at I believe one of the Chicago Nationals. Wished I sprung for one of his paintings then as he was just starting out. He was a very nice fellow and that Josh Gibson painting is amazing. Great story.
Glad you read it!
According to a newspaper article, Gibson hit a called shot in my hometown. Paige was there too. Ball went over the fence and over the river behind the fence.
That’s awesome!
Cool AFF. You never know what is out there until it is found. Pretty sure I would have kept at least one of the cards. There has been so much hub-bub about your month off. Can’t wait to hear /see all about it.
Thanks Ken!
Hi Mike, I think I would have told him and then make an offer for the cards. This was a great find, and I enjoyed the story. I am looking forward to the National.
Me too!
Yes, the 8s are 7 figure cards
"We have to exclude (Josh Gibson's) 1931 Harrison Studios postcard." You didn't really say why, Mike.
You’re right… oops! Because it’s a postcard and I think only 1 exists. Thanks for calling me out. I didn’t even catch that in edit.
The postscript is definitely worth a read. The story isn't long.
Yes!
So great to have a month off. Great video on an incredible card. I know Ryan, bought my Dihigo card from him.
Thanks Orlando!
Looking forward to seeing you and shaking your hand
You too, Warren!!
What would I have done? The frozen song “let it go” comes immediately to mind. This video definitely lived up to all the hubbub 👍❤️
Thanks bub!
@@JunkWaxHero Mike, I’ve got a new VR- contest time to break the ice!
Who knows who much the buyer is bad mouthing the other guy because he may feel guilty about not telling him. Thanks for the video.
Heard a lot of Josh Gibson records, but have not heard of S Pages numbers and where he stands after his numbers were merged with MLB stats. Wondering if anyone has information on this.
Yeah, Baseball Reference has them all! He was amazing
Hubub should be said more
His past Clemente thing is unethical for sure, but I wouldn’t be able to use that as a reason to justify the Gibson purchase. To me this is like a value box purchase at a card show. If you have a 1/1 in the box I’m assuming the seller didn’t know, didn’t take the time or thought it wasn’t worth much. Fair deal for the gibson(s) - offer for the lot and profit lol.
I would tell the owner if he was a respectful nice guy but from what you’ve said it sounds like he’s not the nicest guy ever. So I wouldn’t go back in this situation
Already sporting the Celtics championship shirt. Nice.
Gift from my wife!
There is an '86 Larry Fritsch set
With Gibson?
@@JunkWaxHero yes
@@JunkWaxHero been trying to buy a set but keep losing out
This is the guy who tried to sell pieces of Clemente's plane? No, I wouldn't correct his statement that he had no Gibsons. Also, I would have kept one or two for myself: one for my collection and one for the day that the price exploded. What happened to the other Negro League stars in those binders?
That went unreported
Why wouldn't you keep, all but your PC, until it exploded then? Hindsight is 20:20
Are you wearing a Celtics title shirt? 👀
Sure am! Gift from my wife!
@@JunkWaxHero it’s been a while since I was able to buy 76ers championship shirt. Keep enjoying the win! The only thing that could’ve made the Boston win sweeter is if it was against the Lakers
@@TJ_Is_Online yeah that would’ve been great
If dude just got done offering me Roberto Clemente’s plane parts I’d probably bite my tongue. Best part about the hobby is the people, also the worst part about the hobby is the people. Usually I’m ok telling someone who doesn’t know what they have of they have something big. But in an odd situation like that I would probably keep quiet.
Well said
Just make a fair offer on the whole entire lot. If he did not see them, to me this is no different then finding some nice cards in junk wax. If you find good cards AFTER a deal, do you go back?
Good question!
That's kind of messed up, of course he should tell him what he had. I feel like that's a scumbag move on his part; he clearly took advantage of him. I don't respect people like that.
However, as for your grails, those are YOUR grails.. if your grail is a '91 Upper Deck Pedro Rookie and mine is a '55 Topps Don Hutson, why does it matter? We are equal..
I agree about the grails and respect your take on how he should have told him what he had.
I have always thought it would be a blast looking for card stuff the south american & the Caribbean. Not only do you have negroleague stuff, but also topps Venezuelan and rare soccer cards. I have always wondered how topps Venezuelan was distributed and have never got a rock solid answer besides speculation that it was in packer packs. Imagine finding unopened topps Venezuelan packs, high grade cards or the holy grail in my opinion an uncut sheet.
Yessss
I’d keep my mouth shut. Except the offer and leave
🤝
Can't understand the allure of this card. Came out years after he died.
Next you're going to dis my 1924 George Washington rookie card.
Because there were no others before it
