I give you my top 10 ps4 games that have the biggest improvements when played on the Playstation 5. These improvements include 4K support as well as the option to play in 60fps.
Playstation 5 includes a feature called game boost which offers increased loading speeds and improved or more stable frame rates for Playstation 4 games. If the PS4 game has an option to run at an uncapped frame rate then most likely it will be able to reach 60fps on the PS5.
For PS4 games that were originally capped at 30fps, Sony has recently released a patch that allow these games to run at 60fps on Playstation 5. Game boost is enabled automatically on the Playstation 5 so no need to turn it on.

Do you keep your ps5 in default mode/resolution mode or performance mode to get these results?
@@greekfreak384 I usually just keep my ps5 on default and manually select the mode I want once I'm in the actual game. I try not to keep the system on performance mode because some games will drop the pixel count to 1080p when using performance. However some games using resolution mode will run the games at 60fps. So you just gotta know what games do what.

Even more mind blowing is how this generation of gamers are so undemanding by supporting so many lazy ports and remakes making the developers job easy and very lazy. Take Nintendo for instance. Thats basically the Switch model, resell WiiU ports and Nintentards empty their pockets for them. Why would half of game devs make anything new when you morons eat it up?
I downloaded infamous second son on my ps5, from the PS plus collection yesterday, and Damn, does that game look incredible on 4k hdr screen. The game has so many light and particle effects that just pop out like crazy in hdr. Its kinda mind blowing that it was made in 2014, cz itlooks like it was made to take advantage of current technology.... sucker punch are wizards

The PS5 breathes new life into these games. Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Days Gone feel like a totally different games at 4k60. The PS5 is an amazing machine.

Days gone does the zombie action thing right but everything else is pretty mediocre. Ride 1.8 kms this way to do a chore,now ride 1.6 kms that way to do another

Ghost of Tsushima has a full PS5 upgrade though with haptic feedback and etc, those mentioned games are just unlocking 60FPS in their PS4 version.

The video was about PS4 game versions which are just enhanced to run better on PS5, but they're still a PS4 version if it makes any sense. Maybe Ghost of Tsushima is also enhanced in its base PS4 version, but since it has a full PS5 upgrade I don't find it that important to mention

I played it on PS5 with a 2013 1080p led tv for the first time recently and it looked utterly amazing, I can't even imagine 4k with HDR.
The dark souls remasters and sekiro play great on ps5 too, higher framerates make the gameplay much more slick

By far the best PS5 upgrade is FF7 Remake. Not a mere resolution bump and double FPS. But legit graphical upgrade: volumetric lighting and fog, improved texture detail, etc. It looks next gen on the same level Demon's Souls Remake.

Monster Hunter World and FF15 feel like brand new games on the PS5. THE SSD also helped both of those game's load times massively.
My first game on the ps5 was days gone and i thought it was good enough on the ps4 but it was a total different game on the ps5 and just made me want to keep playing it

ff15 and monster hunter world also feel like new games with their 60fps modes, even though they are only 1080p i think. but so was guardians of the galaxy on ps5, so 1080p60 still qualifies as next gen experience

The first last of us game looks and runs fantastic on the ps5,in fact all of the ps4 games I have run and plays fantastic, the only game I had issues with at first was ghost recon-wild lands,but it had a update and a update for the ps5 and after that everything was fine

Looking at both console comparisons the PS4 still holds up as a really good console. I'm happy that they launched a PS4 Pro just so that the hardware could keep up with the latest games. I would honestly say that the PS4 still has a few more years until it can be put to rest. If anything the base PS4 should be put to rest and not the updated PS4 Pro if gamers are looking for a better framerate and performance. The PS5 could have a longer cycle if anything if Sony smartly utilizes the hardware and release software patches for better performance over the next few years.
Yeah PS4 Pro definitely has a few more years but I think base model is entering it's twilight years haha. But to its credit I'm actually surprised it lasted this long. I mean, for a system that launched in 2013 it can still play current gen games. Except for Cyberpunk 2077 lol
@@SuperJumpReviews I would compare Cyberpunk to Crysis which was launched for the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in the day, the hardware was not capable of running that game to its full potential. Coming to the argument that the PS4 launched back in 2014 we saw a massive jump in overall performance from the PS3 to the PS4 and even now it still holds up in terms of visuals and performance. For instance, if you've played the Last of Us Part 2 on the base PS4 it was incredible considering how old the hardware is. I recently got a PS5 and continued Ghost of Tsushima on the console and I could tell a slight difference. Since it's a PS4 disc it only upgraded the framerate but not the overall visual. And I completely agree to put the base PS4 to rest and continue the PS4 Pro and the PS5 side by side until they can pull the switch on the PS4 entirely.
If you want games to be held back by a slow hdd and weak cpu then go for it..
@@sonnyboi1761 See in that manner the PS4 Pro is still an updated machine. A weaker CPU than the PS5 I do agree, but architecture wise it's not so far off. We haven't really seen such an amazing jump in graphical performance. Just like how we saw the jump from the PS3 to the PS4. Furthermore, not all games should be released for the PS4 but just a few to keep the cycle going. There are a lot more PS4 users still than the PS5. But upcoming AAA titles should definitely be on the PS5.

NFS Hot Pursuit is still outstanding on PS3 to PS5.
The only thing I need now is NFS Most Wanted Remastered on PS5🙂Then life will be complete.
NFS most wanted remasterd will be great, I can feel how it plays right even before it's out. On the PS3 and PS VITA the game is insane and the online servers are still active on all platforms.
Sadly NFS the run was shut down, it actually shut down the time I was playing in the morning then it just couldn't let me connect to the online services lol 😄

No problem 👍to be fair, some PS4 games have uncapped frame rates but the performance was always so inconsistent that it was better just to play at locked 30

Consoles have had AMD components in them since they were first a thing so ray tracing itself won’t be possible on them. It’ll just be regular games.

I think rendering would be the same regardless of storage but the difference would only be on loading times.

Why would they do that when they can try to sell us the unlocked 'definitive PS5 version' next year for full price. As a PS5 owner, I couldn't believe how many ps4 games run the same as they do on the pro and don't fully utilise the ps5s power. I have a PC as well and its standard that when you upgrade the hardware, games run better and make full use of the available power. On the PC you buy a game once too generally. Watch how many PS5 remasters (that are just patched ps4 games) come out over the next few years.

Good vid man. I played Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone last summer before I got my PS5 (and before the HZD 60fps patch not that it would have mattered on my base ps4).Now I wish I would have waited. Days Gone especially had some atrocious stuttering and frame drops while riding the bike, but was a good enough game to fight through all that. Would have been a much better experience on PS5. Infamous Second Son was one of the first PS4 games I played on PS5 and it looks amazing. So smooth and beautiful I was surprised at how well it held up being a PS4 launch game. Honorable mentions for Killzone: Shadow fall (also ps4 launch title but looks fantastic), Nier Automata, and *gasp* The Order 1886. I played them all this year and they all look and run amazingly. Hot take- Dishonorable mention for Bloodborne. I know the game itself is great, but it ran pretty rough on PS4 (framerate, stuttering, screen tearing). I was super excited to play it on PS5 but it still runs like crap. Here's hoping for the remaster or framerate upgrade soon!
Oh god, I remember when The Order 1886 came out, everyone was bitching and complaining about how it was too short. Ugh, it was so annoying. I personally enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect but it was gorgeous. The only thing that bothered me was the black borders on the top and bottom of the screen. Now that is one game that needs a 60fps patch.
@@SuperJumpReviews I really liked the story and atmosphere and the lore and all of that with The Order 1886. I thought the premise was cool and the way it was presented was interesting and unique. Even at 30fps it ran nice and smooth and I liked that it was well paced and didn't wear out its welcome. Better that than a 20-30 hour slog just for the sake of it. Fun, reasonably easy platinum in less than a week. Totally agree on the black border thing though. Take a chunk of the top of my screen in a cover shooter...
@@frozenninja4030 You know what scene always stood out to me about that game and even still to this day as I recall thinking about it? There's that one scene early on in the game, you're with 2 other people I think and you're on this floating ship thing, I forgot what you called it, it was like a giant air balloon. It was on fire and you had to find a way off it. I remember looking out the window and seeing the city below as I was in that thing. I'll never forgot it. It was beautiful.
I don't really replay games after beating them but now that I managed to snag a PS5, I'm excited to go back and play some of these games.

@@sebastianc2077 yes, Destiny 2 if I'm not mistaken got a 4K 60fps patch a while back so that's worth getting. Cyberpunk hasn't gotten it's next gen patch yet but it should be out sometime later this year👍

You could have also listed games that had an unlocked framerate, that now run at 60fps on PS5. Like knack 2 and Shadow of the Colossus. And The Last Guardian and Batman Arkham Knight when played unpatched, as well as Assassin's Creed Unity

I have played games like doom eternal and last of us part 2 on convention and solid state drives and they loaded maybe 25 percent faster though that's not the 50 to 80 percent quicker load times of the PS5 though mostly it's earlier to mid gen releases of PS4 that see the loading times drop quickest.

You can't just put any ssd and expect the most benefits. And forget base ps4 or ps4 slim, they can't benefit as their USB is older version. Only ps4pro. The usb interface of the ssd you buy has to support UASP (usb attached scsi protocol). I bought an external 2.5" case with UASP support and slammed a samsung QVO inside (you don't need anything better than a qvo but it has to be 1TB and up, the smaller has lower performance, you'll be waisting your money without significantly better results on anything higher range than a qvo).
With that setup my loading times in Cyberpunk 2077 on ps4pro were on par with ps5 load times (as cyberpunk doesn't properly utilise ps5 ssd compression), and my load times in RDR2 from title to in-game were 55 seconds on PS4pro vs 56 seconds on XBsX 😵
Also, it's irrelevant on ps4pro if you connect the SSD to an external usb (preferably on the back panel) or replace an internal drive. The internal drive in ps4 is also working through a usb logical interface via sata physical connection).

Regarding your question. If you put the PS4 disc of Days Gone into your PS5, there is no specific PS5 update BUT there is a PS4 update which allows Days Gone to run at a higher frame rate. So technically there is no update that turns the game into a PS5 version but there is a PS4 update which will allow it to run faster while playing on the PS5 console. Does that make sense? Same for Horizon Zero Dawn. So, yes, you will need the internet.

Managed to get a PS5 back late Nov early Dec through a GameStop Canada crazy trade in offer where when I traded in my PS4 pro for $450 towards a PS5 bundled with Ratchet And Clank Rift apart and a second red controller. After extra trade ins only paid $250 difference. So far definitely seems the difference in performance in my games.

Before PS5 era I remember many console gamers claimed that 30fps was perfectly fine and 60fps was unnecessary. Some even went too far by saying that the only people wanting 60fps were PC elitists who cares only about graphics.

Honestly, I'd always been perfectly fine with 30 fps on the PS4 etc but I've got really used to 60 on PS5 and I now always choose the performance option. I'm not sure what's really changed because It's not like I haven't played 60fps games before.
30 is still fine. Then again, people will shit on 60 once we get to 90 fps or 120 fps in near future. *Shrug*
