"First we have Shazam: Fury of the Gods! [...] Shazam has always been off kinda in his own part of the DCU" "The true start of the DCU is called Superman Legacy" "The first DCU character for sure is Blue Beetle" "Nothing is canon until Creature Commandos next year"
Its because he got the faceplant of failures from those movies that he is too scared to call them his own. Imagine if they have been successful films, we will see him bragging nonstop due to his involvement making them successful. And i am speaking of the last 4 films from the DCEU. He screwed up from the minute he sends out his tweets.
Well with the strikes and delays that movies get all the time. Mad Max fury road was suppose to come out in 2013 but was delayed two years, but people still loved it
Really just wish we got zack to do a final justice league movie where darkseid just wins and ends the dceu there then starts completely brand new fresh all new actors james gun dcu at this point
Only time will tell with Superman Legacy. If it fails, DC and WB is in a load of trouble. I'll be cautiously optimistic and reserve my judgement until then.
@@jakelockley7208 Superman is boring for today's modern age he's not woke enough especially the way James Gunn is gonna write him as America Big Blue Caped Boyscout
It's discombobulated for sure. I agree that if you were going to do your own brand of movies, then Gunn should've gone with a clean slate 100% and started fresh and with new actors. Otherwise, his cherry picking philosophy will be his undoing for this DCU.
It’s still a mess. Zaslav doesn’t have the money to keep the studio afloat, especially when these big properties are making them lose money. Hiring Gunn was a mistake.
@@AhamedMohammed507 So far, it is. He keeps getting called out on his bs on twitter. He doesn’t have all his ducks in a row so he keeps making excuses. It’s separate from the dceu but yet it’s not. 🤪
Do you guys remember what he said after firing Henry Cavil He said that he wanted to make a younger superman movie So people thought maybe henry cavil will come later Then he was fired Then after a while he said Henry Cavil is a great actor but doesn't fit in his new plans for dc Now he is saying some actors will remain this is so confusing I am obviously not understanding what am saying right now am confused
I’ll never forgive Zaslav and Gunn ending the Snyderverse without so much as an olive branch to finish things off, but ultimately, I love DC and overall, I do like Gunn’s work with the Guardian movies so I’ll almost definitely suck up my irritation and see the first few movies. On a side note, here’s hoping we’ll at least see Cavill as the new James Bond.
From what has been going on, I had a feeling that the dcu is a full reboot and a clean slate, I even think he's probably lying about the actor returning and just trying to give use more money.
Yeah, I do think wiping the slate clean would've been best after some time, as I'm curious to see how some rebooted characters will be retooled for the DCU.
Make the three Justice League movies with the Snyderverse cast, use the third movie to soft reboot and introduce new actors to the role. Hell, give Wann or Muschietti to direct. Make the Darkseid Wars happen and acknowledge the Nightmare time line. That's all it takes. Also, you're right about Black Adam. They were course correcting.
I think this would be great or atleast they should have utilised the flash mvie ofcz it doesn't work without a superman movie, a batman movie and a final jl movie to conclude the story and then a flash movie for flashpoint
@@ilive4d80s6 Basically they think you have a bad take. Personally I agree with your take because i stopped caring about DC once i knew the Snyderverse was over.
I think "time" is the best medicine here. Because of the major flops of current DC films I don't really think people are "counting" them as being a part of anything versus just films connected under Hamada's vision (had they just released these films instead of pin the tale on the release date schedule there could have been more money --- but they waited forever to release them and this is the effect). Instead, its been a pretty long time since Joss Weadon's JL film -- as I'm sure only real DCEU fans are really aware of the Snyder Cut. Therefore, a new start after a pause probably is the best way to go about this IF they are not connecting these films to Black Adam/Flash ect. DC also has a chance to one up Marvel. While DC revs up for a reboot, Marvel fatigue has set in and most of the quality behind Marvel content, post Endgame/Now Way Home, has been lackluster. This means that SupLegacy has a real chance to set up a strong alternative. Its always been a pendulum when it comes to Marvel fandom/ DC fandom. HOWEVER going about this reboot the smart way is going to be key. I'm not an exec so I don't have the golden answer, but by this point, BECAUSE OF TIME, probably a solid reboot is needed. Cena was great as Peacemaker but if it comes to saving the DCU and him, then he's gotta go. Same with Waller. However, this is the DC Universe, and as Flash has shown, DC is big on parallels earths. So I think Exiting ALL the DCEU actors might not be the best route, as they already are DC fans. I can see Cavill and Gal's Superman and Wonder Woman coming from a Kingdom Come universe and being the Kingdom Come versions of those characters. DC has a tone of Superman meets Superman storylines althroughout the cannon and usually they're pretty great stories --- like during Infite Crisis when E2 Superman showed up. OR go the alternate route and make Cavil,Gal,Affleck the evil E3 versions of their characters and have them come from the Nightmare Verse of the Snyderverse --- maybe the fact that Flash never returned to the Snyderverse (and ending up in the Clooney-verse) created a ripple-effect that created an evil Justice League --- I mean Snyder's world was always kind of cut from the same cloth as the Watchmen stuff, so it makes sense that in the multiverse of things an evil version of their Justice League exists. Which is to say, you don't have "Scrap" those actors BECAUSE of the DC Multiverse, HOWEVER, you probably need new and fresh blood in those characters to represents the NEW DC Universe. I think Gunn would be smart to do something that fans have wanted for awhile and that basically is the live action version of the Bruce Timm DC Animated Universe. Gunn should totally pull from comic book storylines such as New Frontier, Kingdom Come, All-Star Superman, ect, but he'd probably be wise to create something akin to the nostalgia and hopefulness that was in shows such as JLU, then he would in trying to make a dark DC universe that's rated R. DC could have gone that route and kind of still is with the Joker and Batman films --- and they can continue making offshoot DC R projects that are not connected with the tone of the DCU films--- but I think the nostalgia is there with the DCAU and recreating the color and vibe of those shows, just my take, is probably the way to go. Already, SL already has a vibe of being JLU with the announcement of who's been cast to play the pre-JLA so he's most likely on the right track, from the offset, if he gets Superman "right". Its this pesky who to keep and who not to keep that sems to be bogging this down. I think it might be even cool to see some of these DCEU characters show up in lesser known characters -- like Snyder did with the Watchmen actors. And, again, with the multiverse, this can kind of vaguely be explained. They can even go the route of making Gal Hippolyta/Athena, Cavil Zod/Eradicator, Affleck as Thomas Wyane.
Maybe the similar plot points mean Gunns Batman had a Robin that died like Affleck or when David Cornswet's Superman had a cautious, wary relationship with the higher ups like Waller or whoever the General Swanwick equivalent is (a higher-level general character or say the President) David Cornswet's Superman could meet the DCU Batman in slightly adversarial way but maybe their encounter plays out like the Superman The Animated Series episode 'World's Finest from October of 1997.
This guy had 1 successful franchise. Never ever made or come close to a billion dollars in the theaters. Still baffled how he got the job, when majority of his movies are comedies. Serious movies make the billions, not comedies.
I have always said, any Actors who would stay onto the DCU, from the DCEU are different versions. When Gunn said some actors would stay but it was a reboot. I don’t agree with Gunn’s directions, but, he may surprise me. Waiting to judge after Superman Legacy.
Not letting Snyder finish his story means that Gunn's lacking a united fanbase to support his DCU. He's all but killed his DCU already by pissing off millions of fans and creating a DC fan culture of hate and segregation.
True, at this point seems like they are hopeing that when the dcu projects launch people forget about all the nonsense choices Gunn has made and that ain’t happening.
@@TheHallofSuperheroes If that was the case there would be a better response from the DC community in general, at this point we are more certain of what lie or divisive comment is Gunn going to tell next than if the DCU plan will be completely carried out.
A hard reboot is better where no actors from the DCEU coming back. I suggest they should make Creature Commandos, Waller and Peacemaker Season 2 as Elseworlds stories then the canon starts Superman: Legacy. Because these three projects are heavily connected to the events of the DCEU. But in my opinon the canon should start with Blue Beetle because it's standalone which it dosen't provide any connection to the past DCEU movies. However Aquaman 2 will be an Elseworlds story instead of being part of the main universe.
It would be cool to see more HQ and more Aquaman, but either way, a transition between the DCEU and DCU would be the proper way to do it, in my opinion.
DC needs a hard reboot. Wb made a huge mistake going all in on Gunn imo. The suicide squad, 2 seasons of peacemaker, creature commandos, and superman legacy. They gave him everything
Here's the one area you are wrong. Fans turned on the DCEU when it was revealed before black Adam that all films after Black Adams release will be the last DCEU movies. So in their minds why see a movie that's a dead end?
It doesn’t really bother me and I’m a huge Snyder fan so go figure. I’m just not getting so mixed up in the smaller stuff. I guess if it really does confuse so many fans then I’ll change my mind but honestly I think it’ll just come together as things develop. A full clean slate would be better but he just doesn’t want that and he’s has a bit of an ego and wants to make sure everyone knows he’s making the final decision with stuff like this. I do think that a break even on Superman Legacy would be a bad thing and although I do think it’s unnecessary added pressure I do think it’ll have to bring in 3/4 of a million to be considered a success. Having said that I think it will. Gunn has the story, he has is main characters and he has himself. He won’t screw this one up. The rest is yet to be determined
Do you think Gunn has cleared up any confusion or do you think he's added to it? Unless Gunn is redefining what a reboot is he's definitely adding to the confusion. One theory is that he can't afford to reboot the franchise because there's only so many actors to play these roles. Marvel's gobbled up a good chunk of Hollywood and with the worlds of X-Men, Fantastic Four and Blade on the horizon, not to mention more B and C-level heroes like Moonknight, Ms. Marvels and whatever else they wanna dig out of the Marvel Comics archives, the MCU is about to get a second wind and get even more actors to hitch their wagon to the MCU. As for the upcoming Superman: Legacy movie, I'm extremely skeptical that it'll be successful. For one it's not just Superman but 5 other superheroes in a movie that's designed to introduce the world to the (so-called) DCU. Superman, Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, Green Lantern and Plastic Man, not to mention side characters like Lois, probably Perry White and/or Jimmy Olsen, Martha Kent and maybe a flashback of Jon Kent and Jor El feels like way, WAY too much. And all this before we even know who the villain or villains will be. It's also fascinating how much crap Marvel got for casting Iron Man, Nick Fury and Dr. Strange in the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies as pundits suggested that Marvel wasn't able to write a competent Spider-Man movie without the help of other MCU characters. Enter Gunn with 6 superheroes in a movie that's meant to focus on just one of them. This coupled with Gunn's very confusing statements about when the actual DCU will begin spells disaster in my eyes but all we can do is wait and see.
And somehow Gunn's fanboys still find ways to defend him and justify his decisions. I like James gunn's work, but even I feel like he's way in over his head here
We need the DC Extended Universe version Avengers Infinity War & Avengers Endgame, and if James Gunn won't write that, I will start writing a script, this will be one last goodbye to the original connected universe!
Looking at this from a “glass half empty” mindset, they’ll bring back Margot Robbie. But from a “glass half full” mindset, this means they have an excuse to fire Ezra Miller.
You are so correct and hit the nail right on the head. This is what’s been on my mind all the time when it was announced that some of the DCEU which day handsome would not The only way I could see this happening is if there is some sort of MCU type blimp, or multi-verse entanglement on sorts where are the DCEU Characters are pulled into the DCU world… Man, I’m confused, trying to think about It! I worry for the future of DC..
DCU is bound to miss the casual audience doesn't care about DC anymore. It's Flips and Confusing timelines have made Casuals lose interest. The confusion of seeing Battinson and New DCU Batman, Superman without Cavill,Gal Gadot Wonder Woman? What is this? A pile garbage that's gonna get dumped Quick by Universal when merged
This isn't confusing, idk why you think that. I listened to the video, but I don't understand the reasoning. You even mentioned that this happens in the comics, general audiences can grasp this concept. Only what is shown moving forward is cannon, that's it.
gunn decide to keep some actor like "Dave Bautista threatens to quit Guardians of the Galaxy if James Gunn isn’t reinstated" told ya james is good film maker.
His product is still cringe though from DC’s side. What works for Marvel just doesn’t work with DC and god like heroes. This company is so desperate to cheat and copy off from their own competition that it’s embarrassing
So? Will everyone be multiverse variants with just the same actors sometimes? Like will "Peace Maker" have different memories or something? When reboots happen in comics it's pretty explicit. Shit will say "and the sands of time shifted" or " history as we knew it was lost" or something. They tell you a physical occurrence, like the Flashpoint events caused by the speedforce, or Dr. Strange's spell, or whatever, literally warped timespace and disrupted history and causality. They tell you to your face in comics that this has happened. The DCU isn't making this clear.
I’m not okay with any of it. They have completely ruined the brand and I lost all interest. Gunn needs to shut up and stop talking. He keeps making it worse. I’m over the whole fiasco and am tired of it. As a DC fan since the 80’s, I am so saddened by the way my dc has been treated
I'm sorry to sound negative, but I need to be honest. Even if they had fully rebooted, the DCU would've been just a shadow of what the DCEU could've been. After Zack Snyder's Justice League released, we had finally gotten a good and epic Justice League movie, better than Josstice League. However, after releasing that movie, even if the universe was fully rebooted, I can guarantee the fanbase would be forever divided because if there's one thing that many movie goers hate, it's an unfinished story. As long as Zack Snyder's DC movies exist, then they're would've always been a divide, and I'm sorry to say that even if the full reboot was good, I highly doubt anything we would've gotten from a full reboot would've compared to the incredible and epic stories Zack Snyder was planning to tell, and could've told if he was allowed to come back and incorporate his writing with all of the heroes and villains we've gained since Joss Wheadon's Justice League. Now Superman Legacy could be great, or it could be a flop. I personally believe it's going to flop as hard as The Flash, but I could be wrong, we'll just have to wait and see. But at this point, unless they decide to restore Snyder's original vision and story, and mix it in with what's come before it, I'm pretty certain that the DCU is dead on arrival, whether it makes money to continue or not, I bet everything that it won't live up to what Zack Snyder was trying to make, because if Zack's movies have proven anything, it's that his DC movies just began at the wrong place and the wrong time.
It's good to want the DCU to be better than the DCEU, but Gunn is at the helm. It's just not realistic that Gunn will do better than Snyder. Our Movie News brings up legitimate concerns about Gunn's DCU. If it's confusing to normal DC fans, think how more confusing cherry-picking characters to stay in the DCU from the DCEU. I've argued these points before. But there are die-hard Gunn fans out there that believe he can do no wrong. The DCU hasn't even technically come out yet, and already, he's done so much wrong. I have no faith or optimism for the DCU. I think Warner Bros has had such bad leadership for so long that a lot of us just assumed that once Zaslav came in, we'd finally get a breath of fresh air. But he ignorantly hired Gunn. Zaslav is a businessman first. But he hasn't done his research. I think he's helped worsen Warner Bros specifically pertaining to all things DC. You want to make $? Why not start with ACTUALLY servicing your fans. That includes good storytelling. Not just laugh a minute comedy from one Barry Allen to the other. Warner Bros made fans just hang there with no resolution TWICE! They granted Zack Snyder's Justice League. It ended with a tease that Darkseid is now coming to Earth in person with his armada. Yet, we're all left hanging in anticipation. Dwayne Johnson KNEW it was about servicing the fans. And AGAIN. We get Black Adam and a tease for a major showdown between Black Adam and Superman. Once AGAIN, we are left hanging. On top of that, Cavill is terminated after the studio JUST asked him back. Zaslav is NOT a good businessman. And neither is Gunn for pushing his own agenda appointed by Zaslav. I think it's clear that Gunn doesn't know what he's doing. If he was clear from day one, we wouldn't be confused today. He strongly comes across as making it up as he goes. That's my impression. The man has only experience with putting crude humor movies together like The Suicide Squad. He has no business touching the likes of Superman. -OG
Got you friend.. but all I can agree with you is that DC lack good leadership The best thing marvel got or done was putting Kevin Feig as the leader first of all he had a history with marvel he started working with them way back b4 the MCU he pinched the idea of MCU and the bosses saw it would be profitable and made him the boss DC is always making worse decisions putting a director as the head of a project is worse cz even if there is other directors with different ideas from him he won't agree with them he will want them to stick with what he thinks is right Once again I repeat DC LACKS LEADERSHIP
Not really understanding why people are so confused with this. Batman‘s parents will still be dead. That’s a plot point that may be the same. John Cena is going to play peacemaker in this new universe. That’s a character that is the same but the story behind it is not going to be consistent. What is confusing about this!? Nothing. I think people just don’t wanna understand or agree.
G'day it's Steven from Down Under Im so disappointed and seriously over the mishandling of DC. For a moment it seemed like Black Adam was getting us back on track, and we were all relieved to have Henry Cavill back. This is a HOT MESS and the fans are boycotting everything DC. Get rid of Gunn, Warner Bros have shot themselves in the foot with a big bloody GUNN. This whole thing wreaks of incompetence and nepatism. Meh
Everything i heard from him made sense. Fans got to give the new dc a real chance and appreciate it being made by people who want good stories and care more about the comics. Unlike what marvel has become. DC upcoming should outdo marvels upcoming.
Maybe it’s fine. General audience can catch up pretty quickly. Whether they use old actors or new, shouldn’t really confuse. Marvel did it as well in the beginning.
Oh yeah long term they should be good. Right now they need customers and they're struggling to bring them in. Confusing or alienating audiences at the start is the struggle.
Just for peple to know the incredible hulk had new cast no one from the first hulk movie was back except for stan and the actor who played hulk in the past so marvel went for it all not a soft reboot and you have to remember it was just a single movie We are talking about many stories here
Let's see commandos first and go from there. It's not good speculating when nothing is out yet. I've faith in James Gunn. I hope dc doesn't fall into the trap, wooke Hollywood.
okay, first of all, i see the future of DCU just like Fox X-men where nothing is canon or make sense, but they keep making movies.. it's going to be same for Gunn's DCU. also about Amanda Waller, he's keeping her but not henry's superman Amanda was in DCEU Suicide Squad then she was in his Suicide Squad and i not Gunn did change her character little bit for his movie then Ayer's movie so why can't he do the same Henry's Superman if he thought Henry's Superman wasn't right ? if he can change Amanada Waller for his version they he could have don't the same with Henry's Superman too
I remember I once tried to watch all x men movie to see connection till today I don't understand a thing just when you think you are done here comes Logan...dark phoenix.. so confusing
Why don’t we all just, I don’t know, wait to see what Gunn has to offer and THEN form an opinion? I know, I know, stupid thought. Just thought I’d throw it out there.
Some of the "General Audiences" including myself aren't going to view it the way you are and we want to see the vision in full. It's not as confusing as you're choosing to make it but aside from that James Gunn is trusting the writing and filming. Nit picking before hand doesn't help encourage new audiences. Its similar to Deadpool in my book because recasting isn't always necessary. You're moving the line for your narrative when we've already seen it.
Is Gunn's DCU to be or not to be? What will it be? A hard reboot, a soft reboot, does he himself even still know it? This 's my take on it: th-cam.com/video/t5sh5cFYOv8/w-d-xo.html
🚨 No Confusion, multiverse, different version. 🚨One year break then open with Superman may work well. I don’t agree with Gunn’s direction but I can see how it can work.
I think it is fine. Gun takes the Star Wars route. The movies will be the "main story" and everything else will take place in the universe but will have no effect on the story. The actors who remain will probably not play a role in the DCU story that will begin with Superman Legacy.
Apparently the Gunn people don’t get this either. You tell them Gunn said The Flash will reset the DCEU into the new DCU. And they’re like “IT DOESN’T MATTER THO!” And then they’re like “well…that doesn’t answer the question at hand.” And apparently that doesn’t matter either.
While I do agree it’s a bit confusing and idk exactly what to expect, I am still hopeful and excited. I personally really enjoy Gunn’s ability to make his projects emotionally resonant alongside his sense of humor, and he proved himself to me with GOTG3 this year. I know you didn’t like Peacemaker very much yourself, but I did, and I was impressed by how empathetic he was able to make this character that I previously knew nothing about and was rooting against in TSS. The comments he and Peter Safran have made about Superman give me full assurance he understands what’s he’s doing with these characters, and I’m truly excited to see his Lois & Clark on the big screen opening day! While I have no qualms with Xolo coming back as Blue Beetle because I really enjoyed that movie and it’s characters, I do see the hesitation with Waller and Peacemaker. Waller can basically be like JK Simmons’ Jameson or Judi Dench’s M to me where it’s just the same actor playing an important side character across universes. Peacemaker isn’t important enough of a character to DC as a whole to put a damper on things for me, and apart from the JL’s cameo at the end of season 1 (which, according to The Flash and Shazam 2’s logic) the show and The Suicide Squad film could have happened slightly differently and been placed as prologue projects in the new DCU. I WILL have more of a problem if Gadot is kept as Wonder Woman (have her produce a project, not Star), Ezra is Flash (boot them altogether), and Mamoa is Aquaman (just make him Lobo already). Again, not fully sure how this is gonna play out, there is SO much more I’m excited about than I am nervous about! Most of the projects either sound really exciting or at least interesting, with a lot of fresh names that have never been adapted before and have so much potential! It’s nice to have a creative at the head of DC because I believe him when he says “storytelling is always key” and they never want to sacrifice that for the sake of a cinematic universe. I also know you don’t care about comics, which is fine, but for me, seeing him embrace the creators of the stories they’re basing their projects on gives me so much respect for him because that’s something the MCU actively hasn’t been doing much. Every trailer ends with comic recommendations, comic creators are being brought on to help with the films themselves (Waller and especially Supergirl are examples of this). Tom King being involved with the film adaptation of his comic, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, gives me so much hype, that’s a fantastic comic and a really easy read. I think the transition is rough, and I have my hesitations too, but it excites me more than most of the MCU right now and I can’t wait to see what happens. Love your vids as always!
I don't think the problem is Gunn. I think the problem is WBD. They are so lost. They had a good thing going and to reboot now, and not have anything out until 2025 is stupid and crazy. The comic book movie genre is slowing down, and you had the actors and characters at hand, but decided to reboot it all and start all over. No one is waiting Tha long for new characters and actors. I'm in my 50s. By the time they get their feet wet I'll be on my 60s. Wtf?
I do agree DCEU and DCU should be completely separate they say it's a reboot it is not a reboot is you start over everything completely new characters and stories James Gunn says DCU it is a complete reboot but really he is keeping and removing things he personally like and dislike
I think Gunn Makes wonderful movies & Stories, but only time will tell indeed if his vision isn't gonna be as great as Snyder, but I totally agree about the confusion that's happening & I only wish if he Perceived this in a different way... like in the comics for example, there are multiple storylines & universe's sometimes, so why not keep the DCEU as a form of Elsewhere kinda situation & have Snyder & other filmmakers like Ayer & everyone loyal to this amazing dark vision going, while he continues with his own vision in a different timeline with different characters or even some same & some not, like Multiverse of Madness movie, & either way, the profits will be okay, Bec ppl have proved along history of cinema how they can create great achievements & fetes of movies with lesser budgets, in case WB is so worried they're gonna get Bankrupt or something!
Exactly all he has to do is say "Zack and David will have a place to continue their visions in DC Elseworlds. And the Ayer Cut is coming shortly after Creature Commandos".
So people think superman legacy doesn’t have to be a big success because it’s at the beginning? Seems to me that Batman versus superman was at the beginning as well ? What a sideshow
Yes I get what James Gunn is saying but at the same time people aren’t going to be invested in a new version of characters without learning about them yoy just throw audiences into an already established universe with fully established characters that don’t need to be i through any character growth then people are going to care about these new versions. Yes we have seen them a lot but that’s why origin stories are important especially at the beginning
@@jturner2577 yea but people still complain and say it’s ok for spiderman even though that was only fine because of the complaints of his spiderman being to reliant on tony stark. Where as that was Snyder’s plan all along with Superman but in that case it’s not ok because “it shouldn’t take that long for ab origin story”
Can we wait till stuff come out and are people just slow James Gunn Specifically said who’s going who’s staying and it make sense Henry cavils Superman wasn’t working they gave him a solo movie everyone hated, gave him a Batman Vs movie everyone hated gave him a justice league twice people hated it and even after that gave him a black Adam cameo people didnt even go see it but all of a sudden people want him back so he’s Gone, all previous justice league members are gone,Peacemaker was great critically and broke a hbo max record so makes sense he stays(don’t knew where the fake hate for that show came from), and we are still waiting for justice league to be casted outside of Superman pretty simple to remember that no confusion at all
I think Gunn needs to keep quiet. Him responding to comments doesn’t help. He can just announce officially to everyone how the dcu is going to start and who is in it etc, like Kevin did. Just do it one time. Simple.
Great video!! I still want Zack Snyder (and CO)'s five-part story concluded (and Batfleck film), ignoring all the DCEU films past Aquaman, but you have said everything most of us are thinking about Gunn's DCU.
Why though? Their is no point in trying to finish a dead universe and that’s why it’s been since black Adam and even before that. Irs been a dead universe for years
@@jonathanhill3668 Because it is an unfinished story, i.e., the Knightmare timeline, and in this medium, of blockbuster CBM, especially on this level, that's pathetic. Aquaman was the last film released in ZS (and CO)'s slate, which is connected to their story narrative. Two to three films, and the Snyderverse would be concluded properly. JL 2017, both Shazams, WW84, Black Adam, TSS, The Flash, Blue Beetle, BOP can all be ignored. That's WB's mess.
Gunn is showing again and again that being a great director (as I believe he is) does not mean he is good as CEO. I think he screwed all the DC movies of this year when he announced the new universe in the beginning of the year, and now he is making sure NOBODY will watch Aquaman 2, reinforcing that "Aquaman is not canon and it's a dead end". Any chances the movie had to have a different outcome from the others is gone. Secondly, start the new universe with Creature Commandos is a TERRIBLE mistake. That will certainly flop horribly. Zero appeal. Third, as you said, keeping some actors in the same rolls is just confusing. If he likes them so much, keep them in different rolls. Put Cena to be Shazam, Xolo to be Nightwing, for example. But I guess all the hopes are in Superman Legacy. We must hope that it's a huge success, otherwise all will be doomed and his head will roll soon enough.
Personally this was very helpful for me, clarifying that this would be a full reboot. Let Gunn do what he does, he's earned our trust. The characters staying are a Ryan Reynolds situation with the MCU.
I like James Gunns past work with Marvel. With that being said this DCU reboot will be a total failure. He should’ve stayed far away from DC dumpster show. DC has never been able to catch up with Marvel and shouldn’t have tried to. James Gunn is attempting to reboot a super hero universe while superhero movies are fading out. He is on a dead end road. Very sad
So: take the shit (cavill, affleck, ayer, birds of prey, and so on) and let the good stuff (gunn's suicide squad, peacemaker, a better superman, a better batman, may gal gadot, for sure xolo with blue beetle). What's the doubt in this? The bucket office? We need a better DC brand universe
Because we've already seen those characters I tract with one another and now we're supposed to accept that characters and plot points from the old DCEU are overlapping with what's supposed to be a new universe? Quit riding Gunn's d*** so much.
@@DekeSimmons1 when did I mention Snyder? I'm just pointing outbhow messy this whole DCU is. Gunn should have just done a hard reboot and not carry over baggage from the previous franchise. Learn how to read, genius!
The problem is, it's not a full reboot. A full reboot replaces everyone. That means there are no actors still around from the DCEU. This is called a soft reboot. Only some elements are changed, in this case, some actors are still remaining to play the characters they had in the DCEU. Gunn would have done better just doing a full reboot. He has already alienated some fans by getting rid of Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot. But, he kept his wife, brother, John Cena, and Viola Davis. He should have just replaced everyone. Wow, it is absolutely a cluster fuck of confusion. Totally agree with what you’re saying.
General Auidences are aware of the Snyder Cut. It wouldn't have been the 4th most streamed movie of 2021 if they weren't.
I personally don’t like the Rock too much but Warner should have listen to him instead

For some of yall just hear it from his mouth instead of channels like this that really help

It would be cool to see more HQ and more Aquaman, but either way, a transition between the DCEU and DCU would be the proper way to do it, in my opinion.

I'm wasted! 🤣
Nobody saw those DCEU movies anyway so it’s not like it’s going to matter.
I like James gunn's work, but even I feel like he's way in over his head here
The movie is very questionable and for everything that looks good something looks bad.
Tbh, this is not confusing at all, so i don’t have any problem. But it’s true, it should be HARD reboot.
This is what’s been on my mind all the time when it was announced that some of the DCEU which day handsome would not

I for example hoped the flash movie to clear this but am more confused right now
I’m not okay with any of it. They have completely ruined the brand and I lost all interest. Gunn needs to shut up and stop talking. He keeps making it worse. I’m over the whole fiasco and am tired of it. As a DC fan since the 80’s, I am so saddened by the way my dc has been treated

Honestly he hasn’t done anything yet 😂 let’s wait for his first movie post DCEU before judging.
James keeping his actor that ever works with him as a back up plan if wbd plans to ditch him. Smart move gunn.
Zack's movies would thrive nowadays.
-OG

The best thing marvel got or done was putting Kevin Feig as the leader first of all he had a history with marvel he started working with them way back b4 the MCU he pinched the idea of MCU and the bosses saw it would be profitable and made him the boss
DC is always making worse decisions putting a director as the head of a project is worse cz even if there is other directors with different ideas from him he won't agree with them he will want them to stick with what he thinks is right
Once again I repeat DC LACKS LEADERSHIP
Not really understanding why people are so confused with this. Batman‘s parents will still be dead. That’s a plot point that may be the same. John Cena is going to play peacemaker in this new universe. That’s a character that is the same but the story behind it is not going to be consistent. What is confusing about this!? Nothing. Some of the "General Audiences" including myself aren't going to view it the way you are and we want to see the vision in full.
James Gunn is a total failure at WBD. He needs to be fired along with Saffron and Zaslav.
No it will never happen

im still not interested on his universe. I never going to support it. unless if it looks cool, but what I know about his plan, I dont like it at all.
People are so confused I mean the flash didn't solve anything
It jus added more questions😂😂
Going with the DCU instead of the DCEU was a huge mistake.
These studios are completely insane. Give Cavill a good script or two and they could make a fortune out of it
@Lordhavok507 he's done because they treated him like trash
Makes sense great 👍 video
Thank you!
Wtf?
I feel sad for you..
The MCU gets a pass when it comes to Spider-Man but his Trilogy was the Origin Story for MCU Spider-Man.
@@brandoneye8516The double standards.

I have high hopes for a gunn superman film tbh
I have moved on tbh. I don't care. It's too messy.
Can we wait till stuff come out and are people just slow James Gunn Specifically said who’s going who’s staying and it make sense Henry cavils Superman wasn’t working they gave him a solo movie everyone hated, gave him a Batman Vs movie everyone hated gave him a justice league twice people hated it and even after that gave him a black Adam cameo people didnt even go see it but all of a sudden people want him back so he’s Gone, all previous justice league members are gone,Peacemaker was great critically and broke a hbo max record so makes sense he stays(don’t knew where the fake hate for that show came from), and we are still waiting for justice league to be casted outside of Superman pretty simple to remember that no confusion at all
yeay new video
This guy is just a straight up liar and doesn't even know wtf is going on with his own universe. It's going to be a disaster.

Supercuck Legacy is going to bomb hard and Zaslav will go crawling back to Snyder, you fool Gunn guzzlers better get your bibs and juice boxes ready
Gunn picking and choosing which characters are recast and plot points remain is a recipe for disaster in my opinion.
I think it wont matter because peacemaker show didn’t do that well so John cena staying won’t really effect the failure same to blue beetle and waller
Gunn is a snake
He clarified nothing.
It makes sense to me. This is the only decision he could've made to fix DC. He's keeping the few parts that worked and getting rid of everyone else.
Fuck no he hasn't earned shit. Fuck gunn
James Gunn will destroy DC legacy, I need Zack Snyder please !!!
If Superman Legacy fails I really wonder what will happen. Will they go crawling back to Henry or swallow their pride and soldier on lol
some other stuff will likley be fairly far in production so that may still release. Though with it being wbd the movie might be scraped for taxes.
Very sad
A fat kid waved his hand and made 3 Spider-Men appear and nobody was confused. I don’t think they will be confused here..
Apples to oranges comparsion pal.
@@jturner2577 bro stop with the gatekeeping it’s pathetic
So: take the shit (cavill, affleck, ayer, birds of prey, and so on) and let the good stuff (gunn's suicide squad, peacemaker, a better superman, a better batman, may gal gadot, for sure xolo with blue beetle). What's the doubt in this? The bucket office? We need a better DC brand universe
Because we've already seen those characters I tract with one another and now we're supposed to accept that characters and plot points from the old DCEU are overlapping with what's supposed to be a new universe? Quit riding Gunn's d*** so much.
@@orlandoacosta2631 Snyder was better? Lol
Then, Gunn and the fans would all have a fresh start and not be jaded one way or the other.
James Gunn has only confused and muddied the waters.
DAMN!! how hard it is it copperhead what is saying its very simple
Wow, it is absolutely a cluster fuck of confusion. Totally agree with what you’re saying. I know it’s never gonna happen but there was so much support and excitement behind Henry Cavill, wanting to see him in another solo, superman film if they had of made it, they would’ve made amazing box office numbers
And they really should.
This is all people are really mad about they ain’t confused smh…
@@Weupnextyuh a full reboot is best option
