The expression on Marius's face when he saw the direct wired power cable was very familiar... I had to have my house completely rewired when I bought it and the electrician team had that expression more than once. I heard a lot of "Hey, you gotta see this!" and "Oh my god!" which are not things you want to hear from your electricians! 😂 Glad to know Marius has conquered the dangers in your house!

One of the most important things I learned as a DIYer, is knowing when it is better to hire a pro. Also one of the hardest lessons I learned.

Draw a diagonal line across each box on the to do list and when you start a project colour in half the box. Than, when you finish the job, colour in the other half. It makes it easy to see where you are in the list without having to check both ends of the words. This massive time saving idea will pay for itself in, oooh just a few weeks, I'm sure.

As an avid gardener, I am living all the blooming shrubs on your property! Hydrangea (light blue ball flowers) are a particular favorite for me. Take time to enjoy your garden, too!

You're managing to bring new faces to a channel that has your name, which is always a challenge. I'm kind of hooked to Felix's personality and the combo you two make already. Very very cool direction for the channel 👌

Leatherman looks like a potential crash situation missile. Please reverse the mounting (put the pouch so that the mouth faces the back of the car). Good luck with the team!

Love the vibe and feel of this. Asking for help is hard 😂👋🏾. Love the laughter and the small satisfying projects- especially Laura making the boys clean 🎉

We're at the point in our DIY home reno journey where I often ask myself, 'is a pro needed?' but unfortunately due to insane demand for tradespeople, we'd be waiting at least a year for some. So we're currently in a position of somewhat unwilling DIYers 😅

Cleaning up at the end of each day and keeping tools organized is essential to keep oversight and avoid frustration.

I love how you make a checklist, then checked beside the word instead of the box. I don't know I found it so funny. But I did.

The fuse box looks good so far, but you should definitely get some RCD (Fehlerstromschutzschalter) added (by a professional of course). These are mandatory in modern electrical installations and can prevent some kinds of fire hazards and save you from getting an electric shock.

Excellent work cutting together multiple projects and team members in a way that is still “Laura Kampf”!

Hello Laura! Watching from the United States (even though we aren't very united these days) and I love your videos. You are so effervescent. Looking forward to seeing the progress!

We have had 4 houses with basements or cellars (unfinished / dirt floor). All of them had the electric box in the basement. If our current house ever has to have the wiring redone, I will insist that the box be located on the first living floor. When do you need to go to the box? Typically it is when something has tripped a breaker and some of the power is off. When the power is off, usually some of the lights are also off. That makes going to the basement more dangerous - particularly when you are old. If you can find a convenient location in your house, consider having the electric access above the basement. Note that this also keeps it above the dampest part of most houses. One of our homes when we bought it had small streams of water flowing across the dirt floor during the wet season. Glad to see that you have an electrician on the team.
