I mean... at least in the Academy phase, this is true. Based on how he gets on in supports, Byleth is just canonically a good listener who lets people vent and helps them with their problems. In essence, you've got a handsome and mysterious swordsman who shows up out of nowhere, gives encouragement and makes people feel good about themselves, and is such a genuinely good dude that he goes out of his way to help his students (male AND female) through some of their deepest problems and insecurities. The story would timeskip the same as Silver Snow but would open closer to Crimson Flower. Where the rest of the Black Eagles did defect to the church and pursued Edelgard to the ruins of Garreg Mach. Edelgard would try the same crap as from Silver Snow but Byleth would make clear that their only disagreement with Edelgard is not having been told. Hearing from her the war crimes she committed as she tries to push Byleth away would only express disappointment in her as his student. She would retreat and when the rest of the students arrive, the usual happens. But when Seteth tries to make Byleth archbishop, they refuse, saying that the central church serves the people better as a relic of the past. That crests and the church that gave them legitimacy is best abolished. Byleth then invites his students to join the new Jeralt Mercenary Group, The Ashen Eagles(or something like that) and after they all join, Byleth uses them to catch up to modern events and tries to save each of “their” students and unite all of Fodlan, not as the archbishop but as The Ashen Demon.

What's funnier to me is that during my Blue Lions playthrough, I made my F!Byleth super obsessed and clingy with Dimitri. So... even though Byleth is male in Engage, I still find this hilarious and relevant.
They didn't though. No romance occurs until after the academy phase. Outside of Manuela and Sylvain being the resident hoebags, there's not even any flirting going on in any of the supports during the academy phase.
Now as funny as this is I also have to State it seems that they were taken before the time skip because in the DLC we get a edelgard Dimitri and Claude all of whom are pre timeskip so this is very much prior to the war

You know, I've been wondering. How do the emblems even work? This Byleth very clearly is Academy Arc Byleth since, you know, the War Arc has a very different look. Not to mention Lucina doesn't look older. Everyone is pretty much how they look in their respective games, obviously to sell the games better by presenting the characters as they would appear in general related media. But then the emblems still have their own memories of the world in the Engage world. And obviously these aren't the literal heroes, but if they're specters called from history and reformed as these sort of spirits, where do their memories of their worlds end? Does Marth have the knowledge of an old man trapped within the immortal body of a young adult/teenager?
It unfortunately becomes inconsistent when you consider the DLC. What I mean by this is that Emblem Byleth, as you mentioned, is fairly likely to be a snapshot of Byleth's legend from before the time skip in 3H, yet Emblem Byleth is able to recognize the Ruination King. Meanwhile, the 3H lord trio are very clearly also snapshots from before the time skip, yet they obviously have absolutely no knowledge of how their lives turned out post-time skip, or else they wouldn't be able to co-exist in there. Additionally, Emblem Tiki is quite obviously made from Tiki from the earlier Archanean games, and doesn't know about the things that happened to her after that point, such as her involvement in the Awakening story. TBH though as far as I can think of, Byleth may be the only outlier in this case, an Emblem who has knowledge of something that happened in his life after the point in time that his appearance suggests he'd be taken from. Unless there are some DLC or Bond conversations I'm unaware of. Which is entirely possible as I don't own the DLC and sure as hell have not seen every Bond conversation.
I always assumed this was Byleth after the CF route. He speaks of his students in the past tense, knows key details about future events (I.e. Nemesis) and his hair and eye colour is blue again. Tho I guess we may never get true confirmation.
"Heroes" describes the Emblems as being "echoes" of various characters, so perhaps some of them are an amalgamation of various different universe's versions of a given character. Most of them plainly don't have any memory of what happened after their original's main adventure (i.e. the knowledge of the student trio being restricted to their time in the academy and thus no mention of the war, Emblem Tiki being a Tiki from when she was still a child), but Byleth might be a bit different. Perhaps this Byleth could even be from a route that didn't exist in any of the past games, hence why all three house leaders treat him as if he were their teacher.

What's funnier to me is that during my Blue Lions playthrough, I made my F!Byleth super obsessed and clingy with Dimitri. So... even though Byleth is male in Engage, I still find this hilarious and relevant.

They didn't though. No romance occurs until after the academy phase. Outside of Manuela and Sylvain being the resident hoebags, there's not even any flirting going on in any of the supports during the academy phase.

You know, I've been wondering. How do the emblems even work? This Byleth very clearly is Academy Arc Byleth since, you know, the War Arc has a very different look. Not to mention Lucina doesn't look older. Everyone is pretty much how they look in their respective games, obviously to sell the games better by presenting the characters as they would appear in general related media. But then the emblems still have their own memories of the world in the Engage world. And obviously these aren't the literal heroes, but if they're specters called from history and reformed as these sort of spirits, where do their memories of their worlds end? Does Marth have the knowledge of an old man trapped within the immortal body of a young adult/teenager?
It unfortunately becomes inconsistent when you consider the DLC. What I mean by this is that Emblem Byleth, as you mentioned, is fairly likely to be a snapshot of Byleth's legend from before the time skip in 3H, yet Emblem Byleth is able to recognize the Ruination King. Meanwhile, the 3H lord trio are very clearly also snapshots from before the time skip, yet they obviously have absolutely no knowledge of how their lives turned out post-time skip, or else they wouldn't be able to co-exist in there. Additionally, Emblem Tiki is quite obviously made from Tiki from the earlier Archanean games, and doesn't know about the things that happened to her after that point, such as her involvement in the Awakening story.
TBH though as far as I can think of, Byleth may be the only outlier in this case, an Emblem who has knowledge of something that happened in his life after the point in time that his appearance suggests he'd be taken from. Unless there are some DLC or Bond conversations I'm unaware of. Which is entirely possible as I don't own the DLC and sure as hell have not seen every Bond conversation.
I always assumed this was Byleth after the CF route.
He speaks of his students in the past tense, knows key details about future events (I.e. Nemesis) and his hair and eye colour is blue again.
Tho I guess we may never get true confirmation.
"Heroes" describes the Emblems as being "echoes" of various characters, so perhaps some of them are an amalgamation of various different universe's versions of a given character. Most of them plainly don't have any memory of what happened after their original's main adventure (i.e. the knowledge of the student trio being restricted to their time in the academy and thus no mention of the war, Emblem Tiki being a Tiki from when she was still a child), but Byleth might be a bit different. Perhaps this Byleth could even be from a route that didn't exist in any of the past games, hence why all three house leaders treat him as if he were their teacher.

She asked how would he react if he saw her in such a state. He pointed out that they wore special clothing for a sauna bath.
