Do you ever worry about securing the tent to the car? Bit worried someone might take off with the tent when we're out for a hike or something.
You're welcome! :) 1: Yes it is possible to sit up in the tent :) 2: Mattress is OK, but a lot of people in the tentbox forums recommend a topper, I never tried it but I think it could help :) 3: the bolts that secure it on take an age to remove and the tent weighs 70kg so it isn't easy to run off with. You could get security bolts if you were really concerned :)
hi mate I'm getting a classic on Monday, what were the retaining straps in the inside of the tb and are they required to be fixed when collapsing the box. can't wait to get mine
If its raining and you have to close it everything is going to get wet damp and moldy you need a garage to open and dry the tent out for the price better with a estate car
A Vauxhall Astra van h….can be converted into a metal tent box …I’ve got one…I’ve insulated…3mm plylined it with 4 way stretch fabric…and I bought a double 4inch memory foam mattress topper and I love it….I paid £1200 for the van and £250 on customiseing it…oh and also I had the rear window tinted and fitted heko wind deflectors

Hi Wayne, Not really, I have slept in a wide variety of temperatures and have found it so much better than a tent when it comes to moisture :)

Did the woofer take to it straight away? I've got a black lab as well and he's a bit of a muppet; could definitely see him launching himself out!
Woofer did take some time to work it out but is fairly settled once all zipped in! Wouldn't trust him 100% with the flaps open though 🤣🤣

Hi Gordon, not as far as I'm aware, it may be possible to put it on the roof underneath the box but it wouldn't be secured.
